This was our bus. I loved it!

I just took a Flixbus to Buffalo. The bus was an American Dream Coach and it was beautiful, clean and well kept. Our driver Daniel was on time, friendly and professional. I give the experience a 10! I highly recommend.

    The bus stop

I'm writing this review after more than a month of trying to get help from FlixBus following my trip on August 4th from Rochester to New York City (31st St & 8th Ave stop). My bag was lost during that trip. It never came off the bus when we arrived in NYC. Since then, I've repeatedly contacted FlixBus Support, but their replies have been standardized, robotic responses with no empathy or effort to actually help. Every time you reach out to their customer care line, it feels like nobody truly cares about your situation. They just tell you to fill out a form, and after waiting two weeks, you receive the same generic message saying your bag wasn't found. That's not fair to customers who trusted this company with their belongings. My bag contained important personal items worth around $1,800, including a new suitcase and things I had collected over the years- memories that cannot be replaced. Losing it caused me a lot of emotional distress. I was crying at the bus stop, feeling completely helpless, because everything important to me was in that bag. When I went to the FlixBus stop at 31st & 8th Avenue, the staff were rude and dismissive. Instead of helping, they asked me to leave immediately, and one person even shoved me away when I tried to explain my situation. I expected basic understanding and compassion, but I was treated with indifference and disrespect. FlixBus needs to understand that these aren't just "bags". They hold people's memories, personal items, and valuables that take years to collect. The lack of accountability and safety for passengers' belongings is unacceptable. As humans, we deserve compassion and responsibility from the companies we trust with our travel. I truly hope FlixBus reconsiders how they handle lost baggage and begins treating their customers with genuine empathy and care. I'm happy to provide a detailed list of everything I lost if someone from the team actually takes the time to look into my case seriously.

My main takeaway is that you should not pay to reserve seats because the driver will tell people to just sit wherever and not make people move when they sit in your seat, and even though the website says you will be refunded for seat selection if you cannot sit in the seat you purchased, upon contacting them, they will not refund it and it is a waste of your money to not be able to sit where you want with who you want. Buses will either be in this parking lot or parked on the street across the street and you will be able to see the buses. Not all of them are green but they have the same logos. The route number on your ticket is not on the bus anywhere and someone needs to ask each driver if they are going to your location. The buses really need a sign on them with either the route number or the final destination because drivers are annoyed that everyone has to ask them but how else are you supposed to know that you're getting on the right bus? There are stops every few hours to get food and bathroom breaks and you can only go number one on the bus according to the driver. The outlets on the bus were great for working and charging phones and there was Wi-Fi available which I did not use. There is a tracking app where you can see the expected times to get to each destination that day and they were relatively close to schedule, and waited at each stop 15 minutes for new people to get on.

The last time I took this bus was 2019, so I wasn't 100% sure what to expect…read more The bus and ride were surprisingly pleasant. The things I noticed/encountered: -The seats were a little smaller, but fairly comfy. -There were seat belts available -Depending on the seat, outlets were in the bottom/front of the 2 seats or side of the window seats. -There were large, panoramic tinted windows, which made the ride better. -Large garbage bags were placed throughout the bus, which helped keep the bus cleaner (assuming people used them). -The bathroom was small, but decent and clean...at least at the start of the ride. -There were foot rests, but they weren't very useful. I took the 5:30 pm bus on a Wednesday, so it wasn't as packed as a weekend bus may have been. The driver was friendly, check-in process was seamless...we just gave our names. I didn't have any large luggage, so I didn't have to use that extra compartment on the outside/bottom of the bus, but it was available for self-loading/unloading. There was additional storage available above the seats (similar to an airplane) and below the front seats. Even though there was traffic and heavy rain, we made it to our stop (stop #2 out of 3) in perfect time. There are multiple signs for Go Bus, luckily the bus driver walked over to us and let us know that the bus is actually stopped 2 signs ahead. Would I take this bus again? Yea, absolutely.

Okay, I took this bus back one time from New York City, and I must say..this was probably the most…read morescammy thing I've taken. First of all, the bathrooms were disgusting and unsanitary, clearly hadn't been cleaned! Then, also, the specific ride we took advertised that it would make a stop to get lunch..but what? The bus driver was some old guy who was clearly senile, he was extremely rude as well, and he should lose his CDL. He didn't stop the bus. You get what you pay for. This was a scam. Don't do it unless you REALLY need to save money, just take a train for a bit more. If you want to get on some bus with false advertisement and a senile old guy bus driver and get totally scammed, go on ahead! :)
