My husband made an appointment for me for Mother's Day after searching for a nice place with good reviews. I've never been to this nail salon before but was excited to be pampered. I picked my color and was directed to a pedicure chair. I didn't catch the nail techs name, but she asked me if I was having a good day. I said "I was, thank you, how about you." She responded, "Well, I'm at work." And that kind of set the tone for the visit. She seemed unhappy to be there, rushed through my $55 deluxe pedicure. I had to search around for the massage chair remote during the pedicure because she didn't hand it to me or set it up, as I'm accustomed to. Never offered me a drink. There was no warm neck pillow as I see in other reviews. She spent the whole time speaking to her coworkers in a different language and seemed like they were mocking and laughing at customers. When she finished, she told me to stay put so my polish could dry. Then 10min later told me I could leave without helping me up or anything. And said "Thank you, have a nice day," which was the warmest she had been throughout the whole experience, probably because she knew I was about to decide how much to tip her. NANCY! If you go to this nail salon, do yourself a favor and ask for Nancy. That just had to be said first and foremost because if it weren't for her, I may have had just a so-so experience. This definitely isn't the cheapest nail salon I've ever been to, and if service wasn't so good, I probably wouldn't come back. However, despite the hefty price tag, the deluxe pedicure was a total dream and the unlimited FREE mimosas and red wine (or soda...) totally helps out with handing over your debit card to pay the lofty total. The salon is in a gorgeous building located conveniently off BCH. Parking is ample and I love love love that the salon door is locked for security. They buzz you in and assist promptly. It's clean and bright inside with plenty of chairs (including 2 princess chairs for littles you may bring with you! My daughter definitely approved!), and there's a large selection of polish colors, both standard polish and gel. I had such a great experience here, but like I said, Nancy is my girl! Five very well-deserved stars. It's hard to find a good nail salon! I found this one on a whim while Googling nail salons near me and was happy when I saw that it was located in a really cute strip mall. I called ahead and was told to come right in. Upon entering, my sister and I had our temperatures taken and were directed to the sink to wash our hands and to choose a color afterward. The salon is very cute and spacious and there were plenty of employees working, all wearing masks of course. There was someone wiping down chairs and surfaces routinely which I appreciated. There were also glass partitions set up at each station for hygienic purposes. The selection of colors is large and they carry a lot of brands. The prices are fair and the workers are very friendly and sweet. My gel manicure was perfect. I'll definitely be back! read more

Meh, I rarely get my nails done, but when I do I usually get a full set. I showed my nail tech a picture of how I want my nails to look like. I wanted a ballerina shaped with a pink/nude color. This was my first time getting dipped nails so I didn't know the process. I just let the nail tech do her thing and I just told her how I want the length to be. She was doing my nails and another customer nails at the same time, which kind of irked me because I schedule an apt here ahead of time. We waited about 10 mins before getting seating and on top of that she worked on another customer while doing mines. When she came back to me she asked, "what nail was I on?" Wow. I'm shook. My nails didn't even come out to be the shaped I wanted it to be. Some were squared shaped and some we're coffin shaped. $100 for my mother and I was not worth it here. I'll def do business somewhere else. read more

I came to NOLA in need of a pedi but with a list of things I wanted to do. While in Gretna (catching a Bingo game) I decided to pamper myself with that much needed pedi and I wasn't disappointed. It says Appointment Only so I called around 4:30 and was told they would take walk ins after 5. It's in this really cute plaza with a Haagen Das & a Coffee House. The magnetic door kind of surprised me but hey, I knew I was safe. I was immediately assisted and told to pick a color. I was also offered a drink and the options included mimosa, soda and water. They also have FREE WIFI. The hot pack around my neck along with the massage chair were wonderful. The atmosphere was pleasant and the staff knows their regulars by name. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. My pedi turned out REALLY GOOD. I was a little disappointed that they charge $20 for gel polish. Sorry but ATL has me spoiled ours is only $10. But I will say they have EVERY COLOR that OPI makes...as well as an assortment of gel polished in a variety of colors. I have never seen that many polishes in one place before. I don't wear nails but I saw Nancy was in high demand. If I am back and wearing nails or wanted nails, I would definitely ask for her. 2nd time coming here and they always greet my daughter and I so warmly. Everyone looks happy to be at their job and you aren't ignored like most places waiting to say what you need when you walk in. They have the cutest chairs for "little girls" to get their nails done. They actually take their time to give quality Work and actually massage your arms/legs and give a hot towel. I'm very particular about my nails and very particular about my nail salon experience. I'm always hesitant about trying new nail salons, but I was even more hesitant about fighting Essence Fest/holiday weekend traffic to go to my usual salon. So, I decided to try out Elegant and I was not disappointed. The salon is very nice inside, it's decorated in a classy but not cheesy way. The colors are clearly displayed on the walls and they have an extensive selection. Also, notably, they have a big collection of brands beyond OPI and tons of gel colors. The salon is pretty new, so everything is pretty and shiny. The door operates on a weird lock system (you have to be buzzed in), which can be slightly annoying if the shop is crowded and you have to sit and wait for longer than 30 seconds in the scorching heat. I got my usual service of a gel manicure and regular pedicure. The technicians were a little confused about my color request (somehow I ended up in the pedicure chair before I picked a color....) but eventually, they were able to accommodate my request. Because the pedicure chairs are new, they are super comfy and the massagers actually work well. Also, they have warm neck pillows. A recipe for falling asleep in the pedicure chair, which is what we all go for. The manicure experience was okay...the technician was kind and honored my request to not have my cuticles cut, but at no point did they soak my hands in water or ask me to wash my hands, which I thought was odd. Most importantly though, my gel nails have not chipped or changed colors or otherwise tarsnished. Overall, this shop gets four stars because of its color selection, cleanliness, peaceful ambiance, kind technicians and gel that lasts. There isn't anything exemplary about it to warrant five stars, but given the lack of NICE nail salons on the Westbank, I'll likely return. read more

This nail salon is great. It looks to be very new and it's extremely clean. The staff is friendly and helpful. There's a huge selection of polish colors and not just OPI polish. The spa pedicure was so relaxing and done well. Sugar scrub, hot towels, paraffin wax and all the regular things that come with a pedicure -- done very well. I will definitely come back to get another pedicure and try a manicure next time as well. read more

I was very disappointed. I went in with gel on my nails and one fake nail. I expected to be done in 15-20 minutes. I just wanted to get the gel and the fake nail removed and just regular nail polish on my nails. I ended up staying there 45 minutes and with the fake nail still on. I had to be some where at a certain time. I told the lady from the beginning I had one fake nail and I wanted it removed. Instead, the lady just files and cuts my nail. My nail still is raised outgrown and fake. After the lady then asks me if I wanted to pay before my nails were painted but I couldn't understand her. So I asked her to repeat herself several times but still couldn't understand. So then she laughs in my face with all of her friends. To be honest it was very humiliating. read more

I thought they did an amazing job! I say this because with acrylic many places will leave it clumpy in certain places instead of taking the time to ensure that it is perfectly smoothed out. The lady who did my nails definitely took her time and made sure the shape of my nails was perfect. My only complaint is that I asked for matte over my nails instead of the shiny polish, but I think she forgot. That's not a big deal because overall it was a great experience. I got an acrylic refill with gel polish, a reshape, a cut down, and used three different polish colors (no design). This cost me $50 which I don't think is bad considering what a good job they did. For whatever reason, on 2 separate visits, the techs have neglected to coat nails with a top coat on regular manicure and pedicure. I asked the tech and then the owner, Lynn. They addressed each other in Vietnam Namese and said it had been coated. Not true. Nails smudged after a two hour visit. One tech will start the manicure and not complete.
