I went to Dr. Buff Greider for my FAA Third-Class-Medical. I was able to have my call answered in less than a minute and get an appointment within only a few days. This is compared to UCSF which had a 5 minute hold time, booked one month out, and double the price. Dr. Greider was friendly, thorough, time efficient and was available to answer all of my questions. Doctor visits usually stress me out, but Dr. Greider took my blood pressure while at the same time giving me instructions checking my eyes, mouth, etc. which took my mind off the blood pressure machine. Extremely unprofessional! He complains non stop about insurance companies, other patients, and his family so you can't get in a word about why you are there. Dr Buff is one of the worst doctors I have ever worked with. I took my wife for an urgent care appointment and he continually spoke over us and interrupted without letting us ask questions. It was clear he was in a rush to get us out. At the end of the visit on his way out, he said "Oh sorry do you have any questions? We've been getting slaughtered with patients today." I started to ask a question and he quickly answered it as he was walking away, without listening to the others we wanted to ask. He also said "Namaste." jokingly to my wife because we are Indian. We speak clear English and are American citizens. There is no need to treat us like that. We also overheard him having much calmer, friendlier conversations with other patients,so it was clear he was just in a rush to get us out and diagnose the issue based on notes instead if listening to our whole story. I do not recommend this doctor and will never see him again. read more

I had the ABSOLUTE worst experience with Dr. Greider. I went with a foot injury, and was in pain. He looked at the x-ray and told me there is no fracture but it could be something wrong with an injury I had 10 years ago, but he couldn't figure out what was wrong. I mentioned that I wasn't feeling pain where the old injury was and the pain was at a completely different place, but he did not listen to me. After that he just suggested me to get crutches from a THRIFT STORE. I was till confused on the diagnosis but he said he doesn't have time for this. After that we waited for half an hour to receive an after visit summary. After coming home, when I looked at the medical notes on app, I was very SHOCKED to see that he mentioned that I asked for a fracture boot! I never mentioned it even once in the whole conversation, I am utterly shocked at how can someone lie in their medical notes. Horrible experience! I came back in pain and now looking for somewhere else to consult. read more

Wish I could give negative stars. One of the rudest doctors you'll ever meet. Took no history and did not perform an exam before recommending treatment initially. Then he asked no medical questions which required me to give all the necessary information on my own. In the 6 minutes total he spent in and out of the room with me, he spent half the time talking about himself (also then charged for a 45 minute visit). Not only was he unprofessional, he acted as a complete buffoon. He broke HIPPA compliance by revealing other patients' information and then proceeded to lock himself out of the medical chart. He prescribed a medication that when I asked the purpose of and if it's standard treatment for the condition he rolled his eyes and said "this is what I prescribe" without giving an answer. I don't mind at all that it was busy and the wait was long, in fact the office staff, medical assistants and imaging techs were all fine and nice. However, no medical professional should never be this condescending and incompetent to patients. I am honestly surprised he was given a medical degree and license if this is how he typically treats patients, and encourage every person to avoid him at all costs. read more

I just renewed my FAA 3rd Class medical certificate with Dr. Grieder and found it to be a pleasant experience. He was a few minutes late as others have mentioned, but we got through the process pretty quickly. And he was the cheapest in Santa Clara county. read more

Great doctor- caring and easy to get along with. He does not believe in doing a lot of invasive & unnecessary tests to show off high tech equipment, Just practices good medicine and keeps the patient fully informed. Going on 26 years, now, with Dr. Greider as my primary care physician. He's very good at explaining the implications of whatever's going on, and explaining the side effects of any medications he prescribes. He seems to have very good experience and has always been able to diagnose the strange rashes and infections I've sampled over the past 26 years. He's also an athlete so he has great insight into sports-related ailments and injuries. I would definitely recommend him. read more

I've been going to Dr. Greider for about 10 years now. Great personal doctor. I love the fact that when I go to his office, I will always see him, and you can develop a relationship with him. CAUTION! STAY AWAY! DANGER! It's a insult that I have to give at least one star to post my review. I called in and asked if they carried my type of insurance and the secretary didn't have a clew so she asked Dr Buff and he said Yes. I showed up the next day for my appointment, as I was walking in I saw this man blowing his nose with his hands without washing them and complaining that he had no idea where his secretary was and could he help me. Omg, this guy look and act like a homeless person not a doctor. Then he was going on and on not remembering that he mentioned to his secretary that he said he carried my insurance the day before and not knowing if he carried my type of insurance and saying insurance companies just rip people off and could he help me. Avoid this one for your FAA medical. He arrived 15 minutes late and then got angry with me when I asked questions and after pointing out he was mis-entering critical info regarding my medical history into medxpress.... "Thank you, but I'm in a hurry and you need to return to that room NOW. That'll be $150 and we don't accept credit cards" which paraphrases, and to the best of my recollection, summarizes and reflects the mood that day. I'd give up flying if he was the last AMA. I saw him for about 2 years around 2002. The bad experiences have stayed with me. I remember trying to get a word in about my symptoms and having him tell me about his problems. Very rude. It seems he chose the wrong profession and takes it out on the patients. Look at other reviews on the net and you will see I am not alone in my observations. Awesome doctor. I had to take my FAA physical as part of my student pilot training requirement. Saw Dr. Buff Greider and he was pleasant and made the physical easy going for a normally unfun activity. I've had several health issues throughout my life and Dr. Greider has been spot on every time. I would highly recommend Dr. Greider to anyone needing help with a sports injury or even just a PCP. Dr Buff has been my doctor for over 10 years. I really like the way he spends time to explain about the body and how it relates to the ailment I go to see him for. I cannot recommend this doctor to anyone! Over the course of a year I had four appointments with him. Each time I saw him he was abrupt, dismissive, and condescending. He seemed to shoot from the hip , diagnosing me at first glance upon entering the room, without pausing to allow me to describe my reasons for being there. This doctor is always in a hurry and HE DOES NOT LISTEN. At my first appointment with him, when I described symptoms of intermittent severe midline pain, he informed me that I had acid reflux. I suggested that perhaps it could be a gall bladder problem which runs in my family. He dismissed my comment and seemed to interpret it as questioning his knowledge and authority. Two months later I was rushed to the hospital for an emergency gall bladder operation. In subsequent appointments, whenever I attempted to discuss my concerns with him, I was immediately cut off, interrupted, talked over, and at my final appointment with him, shouted down when I objected to his rude and immature behavior. Never in my life have I ever been treated so outrageously by an MD. After dismissing me in a disdainful tone of voice, he swept out of the room and left me sitting there stunned, without a referral for another MD or even a referral for an ultrasound after telling me he thought I might have thyroid cancer!!!! This doctor should not be practicing medecine. Steer clear! read more
