Have been coming to Greg's since they opened in the 80's. Great Pizza, Great Breadsticks and Awesome Ribs! Always friendly staff.

I ordered a french onion soup and breadsticks. Cost me over $10 and then when I opened the french onion soup, when I got back to work, there was not any rye bread or cheese like the online menu said there would be. So I had broth and breadsticks for lunch. Pretty bad for over $10. read more

Can I give 10 stars? Sure, there is always a wait, even though it is located in a small town. .... but it is bc the food and service is amazing! While I have only ordered pepperoni pizza (yes, when it comes to pizza I have the pallette of a 5 year old) and garlic sticks (omgggggggaaaawd, it is a must with that amazing garlic cheese dip)... I have been with others who have tried to prime rib (rave reviews! ), broiled white fish (delectable) among other dishes. Every time it has been fantastic and very reasonably priced! If you are in the area- try it! Heck, even if you are not in the area it is worth the trip! !!!! read more

A decent place to grab a quick bite. However recently the prices have gone way up not sure why. Was able to get an all you can eat fish dinner on Wednesdays for $12 now it's $17. Stirfry was excellent when it was around $12 now it's 18. I can get the same meal at the burger barn in Lapeer for $8.99. However, in the end Gregs is a great place to eat and I would recommend it. read more

Just not very good anymore. After not going to Greg's for about a year or so, we tried it again recently. Other than the breadsticks and pizza, there is nothing else worthwhile on the menu. It's just not good food. read more

Had heard all about Greg's ribs. So we were in the area figure give them a try. Service was ok, although never got a refill on my drink in 40 minutes! Food was out pretty quick, seating arrangements were terrible, talk about no elbow room, people at the table next to us were in our laps. The food; the ribs were mushy, no bite to them, sauce was overpowering, average on a good day. Lasagna was good, but nothing to brag about. Won't be back and can't recommend. read more

I'd like to nominate Greg's for having the most depressing bar I've ever sat at. For the past 17 years my wife and I have been going there and we will continue to do so for the great food and service. But we will no longer sit at the bar because the owner gets too drunk and complains constantly. read more

I love this place, yes there breadstick rock sooooo much (get the garlic cream cheese dip), great unique pizza (best I have had the day after too) and great selection. I love their ribs, burgers (yum), French onion soup (delicious), French dip (very good), Onion rings (actually are my favorite of anyplace), fries (normal), fish n chips (very good), cole slaw (great), good service and so many other good things. Cons: A little dingy, quite bar like and a little pricey. read more

GET THE WINGS!!!! i don't eat meat (5 years) & i STILL crave them from Greg's!!! also- the breadsticks are 12/10.

I've been here off and on for years and the breadsticks are a must. In fact, last time we stopped in the area, we just ordered some for takeout. Plan on waiting if you go at dinner time, but it's worth the wait. Good cozy environment and nice staff whenever I've been there. Ribs are ok and pizza is pretty good. read more

Came to Greg's for prime rib ( broad way grill in Lake Orion ) were out for the 4th time ) prime rib was very good at Greg's service was OK not the best but we will be back . read more

Good pizza, breadsticks, wet burritos, botonna (nachos) for the price. We eat here often but only because choices are limited in the area. Waitstaff and overall service is great, fast and friendly. read more

My husband and I came into the restaurant for my birthday dinner with my newborn. I have an exemption from my doctor to not wear a mask. This is a medical exemption that legally protects me. They refused service to us. We waited in the entryway at the hostess desk for over 15 minutes which is the amount of exposure time for COVID.. which I found to be extremely rude and disappointing as I get tested often and I am at risk. The hostess and the assumed owner touched their masks non stop which I also found disgusting. They refused service to us which is against the law and they were very rude. I have a humongous family and we are all very disappointed and will never return. I hope they clean and sanitize and don't reuse masks! read more

Oh my gosh.........I have not been here in a long time and I suddenly remembered why. It still smells like mildew when you walk into Greg's and the service went from bad to worse. It took an hour to get our dinner and it was nothing to brag about. The waitress brought us butter and no bread sticks. I thought she'd figure it out eventually, but never did. We were in there almost 2 hours just to have dinner. What the heck? All we wanted was a good meal and be in and out. We were very disappointed!!! Never going back! Sorry Greg, but you need to invest in some renovations, clean up the place, and hire an exceptional head cook. read more

Greg's is one of my top favorite restaurants to go to. I love everything that I've ate there. My husband and I think they have the best breadsticks, onion rings, and beer batter fish. We love there french onion soup as well, it has a delicious well rounded flavor. Their pizza is uniquely delicious as well with it's flavorful sauce, good dough (crust), and good quality meat. The service is still great. I love this place, I wish I could give this place more than 5 stars. I still HIGHLY RECOMMEND eating here if your anywhere near metamora, it's well worth it. read more

I have been going to Greg's for 20 years and last night was the last. when we walked in there were no tables with customers the young under age hostess asked me if I had a mask and my answer was "I am not able to wear one but I will hold one to my face but please set me down quickly or if you like I can leave" she sat us down we ordered , received our drinks and salad. while eating my salad a male person came to the table and started chastising me for being rude to the "little girl" (his words) I explained exactly what I said to her listed above and he further explained he was following the law I said again I had the mask on while being seated and I asked him if he wanted me to leave which he replied no, several minutes later he came back to our table with the Metamora Police with full body armor and a big gun on the front of the vest and asked us to leave which we did quickly. this was totally unnecessary as I asked twice if they wanted me to leave. shame on the Metamora mask police, I back our military and police departments and proposed no threat or danger to anyone and there was no just reason for the police to get involved read more

This place is a nice place to stop at if your on M-24 because is is boring on the road and this place is easy to spot. They have the best bread sticks in the world. Period. I love the pizza here. Also, I suggest you try the fish, a lot of people in my family love it. read more

The best breadsticks you'll have your entire life!! Garlic dip is better than most places to. Whenever my wife and I get pizza from somewhere we will make sure to make a extra stop to get our breadsticks from here! read more

This is a very good restaurant and has good value. Most of the wait staff has been there a long time which should speak to the management being fair. We live in almont and have gone a half dozen times and have yet to be dissapointed. Went there with friends last week and waitress was great, service was great as was meal. Sure, they can do a few updates that would be nice but it's the country so temper your high end expectations. They are not the best at anything, just very good. Especially for the area. read more

It's a little dive on M-24 between Lapeer and Oxford. It's one of those places where you can go in there any day of the week and see the same 10 people around the bar. Those people make me sad. Anyway...the place is a total mom-and-pop restaurant. The food is good, but you have to know what to order. Don't believe the hype about the ribs. They are so-so. Definitely not horrible, but for a place that acts like they are award-winning rib aficionados I'd expect the ribs to at least be "delicious." But alas, they are just "OK." The pizza, on the other hand, is fantastic! It's got that je-ne-sais-quois that you just can't put into words but you know it when it goes in your mouth. The breadsticks and cheese dip are AMAZINGLY good. We order 1/2 order of them with every meal! The kids love them and so do we!!! Okay...the real reason I go to Greg's...my FAVORITE dinner is available here and never disappoints. I forget which day of the week...maybe Saturday? Whatever it is, they have a dry-erase-board-only special of Prime Rib or Twin Lobster Tails. Now i know what you're thinking...."wait, I thought this was a pizza place with deep fried everything and greasy bar food" WELL STOP thinking that! The prime rib is easily the best thing you can get here. It is SO perfectly cooked...so juicy...so flavorful. And they always have fresh horse radish available. NOT that disgusting "horsey sauce" which I am convinced is just salty mayonnaise masquerading as an actual dip. I have had the prime rib here probably 20 times and I have LOVED it every single time. My wife gets the twin lobster tails and says they are great. I don't really like lobster all that much, so i'll have to take her word for it. (I don't know why...I'll eat lobster...but its not even in my top 25 favorite things to eat...I much prefer crab, scallops, or pretty much any other seafood). The place is super laid back, kid friendly, and is everything you'd expect from a middle-of-nowhere pizza joint. Oh...and order the "bucket-of-mussels" it's really good. I'll sometimes just order that as my entree with a bowl of baked French Onion soup! read more

This was one of my favorite places to dine. How ever over the years it has gone down hill. I gave them 2 stars. 1) Waite staff still friendly as ever 2) Very clean The food quality and quanity does not add up for the over priced meals. Order a pizza to go and you may be happy. I felt bad when my husband's steak dinner showed up looking like it was ordered off the kiddi menu. And this used to be a place I ate EVERY Friday night for four years. Came back after 10 years away and was very upset. Considering its the same owners. read more

We read the reviews and decided to give it a try...the service was questionable at best...we ordered a pizza with bread sticks, it wasn't bad but wasn't anything to write home about... especially for the price! $30 for a medium pizza with barely any toppings and a half order of bread sticks that were plain. Also my fiance wasn't even finished eating when they were basically pushing us out the door. So in other words read more

Not the same Gregs. Fish looks like it came frozen and out of a box. No more walleye! Bummer! Service is good but food was so so albeit plentiful read more

My family has been ordering and going to Greg's for years. This time, unfortunately will be the last. My family does not get to go eat out much, so when we do, it's usually an exciting event. First off, the older lady who took my mother's order hung up on her while she was on the phone. She was super rude to my mother- and that's never okay in my book. While we wanted to cancel our orders at that moment- we decided that the food would hopefully make up for the rudeness of the staff. When we received our food however- they gave us the wrong salad, forgot an entree, and the ribs did not look good at all. I called and spoke with the manager who said he would put our name on an "oops" board for a free meal- but after that service, don't worry we won't be back. Not worth it for a family dinner. read more

My mother said that while we were in town, we had to try one of the "top 10 best pizza places in michigan", so I had pretty high expectations. We got carryout, the man on the phone was kind of annoying, but our order was ready quickly, which is was nice considering the festival that was going on. The pizza was ok. Just ok. The crust was really nice and chewy, but there was not enough cheese. The breadsticks though. Holy jesus. read more

Decent food, decent service. I will be back but it won't be my first choice! The pizza and bread sticks are the best part of the menu.

bathrooms were nasty as hell and the place is full of fucking weirdos but good pizza !!

The steak was cooked perfect. The fries were perfect. The ribs were perfect. Everything was amazing. Their batter is also awesome for their fried foods. Very pleased every time I come here. They have a extremely homey vibe. read more

I have not been here for 15 years because I moved out of the area. I came back today and had breadsticks and a French dip sandwich. The food is just as fantastic as I remember. The original cheese dip for the breadsticks is spectacular. The au jus was tasty and the meat tender. The bread was slightly toasted and a is a little crunchy on the edges but soft in the middle. Perfectly assembled! What a great place, PLUS they have Keno! read more

Good, friendly service. My personal favorite is the baked spaghetti. Soooooooo good. I usually won't order spaghetti out because it always taste like they just opened a can...These guys have the best homemade sauce... read more

I joined yelp to share my wonderful experience. It may sound like I work there. I guess I was turned off a little by the outside but the food and service was awesome. My daughters shared the ribs. My son had a cheeseburger. My wife had the French dip and I had a Reuben. It was all excellent and Peggy was wonderful. Based on the other reviews, I'm anxious to try it again to make sure it wasn't a fluke. I'm guessing it wasn't. read more

Old fashioned family restaurant kind of atmosphere, classic bar food. Expect a lot of greasy fried items! The onion rings are top notch, and the pizza isn't bad. The wait is sometimes pretty long so get there before the crowd read more

Gregs has always been a family favorite of mine. Service is great. It has a nice warm family environment and the food is phenomenal. I can't list one thing I don't like about. Wait I can, it's not closer to my house! read more

They have the prices of fine dining and the look of a cheap grill. Their prices are a major shock, but the portions are decent and the food tastes pretty good. The french onion soup and the prime rib was tasty, and certainly looked bigger than the 8 oz. that I ordered. The ambiance leaves a bit to be desired though. The restroom doors had broken locks, as well as a non-functional hand dryer and the dining area is a bit too dark for my liking. Wait staff is very attentive and friendly. They have a specials menu which is nice, but the least they can do is have people who can spell properly (jelepeno poppers?). The three stars are for the prices and feel of the place. My family and I basically liked it, but it is not a place I would want to eat at, or recommend, often. read more

That is bull shit that you charge 1.00 for extra plate. Really now. That is a minus star.

We have gone to Greg's over the years and it was o.k.. Unfortunately the place smells musty, but once you're there long enough, you don't notice it. We've always ordered sandwiches and they were fine. We recently had pizza and southwestern salad. The server told us that the chicken on the salad was spicy, which sounded good. The salad arrived, iceberg lettuce, a few cucumbers and very unripe tomatoes. The chicken that was on the salad was cut so small, you couldn't see it. No doubt fresh from Gordon's Food Service. Very disappointing. I know some of you Yelpers really like the pizza. We were served a mushy thick crusted pizza with tasteless sauce. Won't be back. read more

Not as good as 10 years ago when i would rate it 5 stars. Owner needs to spend some capital and update the interior. At least he bought some flat panel TVs. The food is still very good. Some of it is overpriced and some is a great deal based on portions. The ribs and dry battered fish are still the best around. read more

This is my favorite restaurant. I love all the food and the breadsticks with dip!! So good. Except for the pop there, it tastes weird since it's made with well water. read more

I don't write many reviews. I tend to write them for great service and for horrible service. This review falls under the horrible category. My brother and 15 teachers visited this restaurant after school. We spent over $600 dollars between all of us. After cashing out, five of us decided to stay and have a few more drinks. We waited 20 minutes and the waitress never came back. We grabbed a waitress and asked for help. Another 15 minutes went by and no service. We grabbed another waitress and politely asked if someone could help us. 10 minutes later a waitress walks up to us and tells us the owner has asked us to leave. Shocked and thinking it was a joke we first laughed. We were then told it was no joke and we had to leave now. My brother asked to speak to the owner to find out what was going on. The owner of this place does not care about customers at all. He told us we were not ordering anything and that we needed to leave. We told him we had been asking for a waitress for over 30 minutes with no service. Mind you we had already spent over $600 dollars as a group. He said he did not care and for us to get out. All of us were shocked at how we were treated. The service is not great at this place and the owner is downright abusive to customers. The food is average, so if you can find another place avoid this establishment at all cost. I will never step foot in this place again. One of the worst dining experiences I have ever had. I hope this place goes out of business. read more
