I'm not sure how they put this together. I'm not sure how it made it out of the kitchen. Still tipped but honestly it made me go "huh?" Considering how good the rest of my meal went. Hopefully First Watch sees this and stays on top of their quality improvement. Everything else was great!

The long story short is - the place is GORGEOUS, the food is fine, the service was atrocious. Even with 4 people taking our orders 4 separate times, none of our orders got put in in a reasonable amount of time. It took 90 min to get our entrees. They were much smaller than described (the 1/4 chicken was just a chicken breast with about 1/2 cup of rice) and the prices are spendy for the portions. And that's coming from a Seattle resident who frequents farm to table there. In addition to all of that, the owner left the rudest response to my review on Google.. which was accurate but definitely on the kinder side. Disappointing to say the least.

They were down to the scraps of what food they did have left, which wasn't much, but okay, we get that. We made do. But, when the waitress came to take our drink orders, she said they were out of sweet tea. Hmmm.. it takes about 5 minutes to make tea, but whatever. My husband made a comment, "man, y'all are out of everything" The waitress had such an attitude & said "we got hit hard" in a way that just seemed so argumentative. We sit and continue to eat what we were able to get & i noticed that they had not put cornbread or a roll on my plate. My husband walked back up and asked and they said they were out of cornbread. So, he would take a roll. They said they were out. It is hard to believe that there was not 1 roll in the place. Anyway, the quality of the food was nothing at all to brag about. But my main issue was how rude the waitress had been. So, while he was paying (full price mind you- even for a 3 yr old's lemonade but again, whatever) I walked over to the waitress. All i said to her calmly & nicely, was "i think you could have had a better attitude" She snapped back immediately. She said i think he could have too, talking about my husband. She said we came in at the end of day. Seriously? And that we gave the line guys a hard time. And that we talked about it the whole time we were there. Not so!! When i went to answer and say something to her she got up and said she was not gonna talk about it anymore and stormed off. I am 99% sure i will not return. Not because of the mediocre food. Not even because of the lack of choices. But the very poor customer service did for me. I guess i was expecting something along the lines of "i am so sorry we are out of so much. Please don't let this deter you from visiting us again"

I remember my time in high school and college with fond memories of WH. Thankfully, the food is the same. Chicken sandwich, waffle, and hashbrowns scattered covered and smothered. Tasty! They forgot the extras on the hashbrowns. Bacon on the chicken sandwich was very poor quality, so I set it aside. What I ate was good. We're new to Montgomery, and there are lots of breakfast joints to enjoy, and lots of Waffle Houses. But, this one is only a few blocks down the street from us, so we came for a quick bite to eat before starting our Saturday chores...and I'm glad we did. We were warmly greeted outside, as we approached the entrance (actually, as we were getting out of our car!). Then we were greeted as we came it. We were quickly shown to a table, which was clean, Lola quickly took our drink order and gave us time to choose from the menu. Prices were totally reasonable! I ordered a Texas Sausage and Egg Sandwich, and a side of hashbrowns chunked with diced ham and covered with country gravy, and hush puppies. Lola brought our order to our table lickety-split, and they were well-cooked, well-presented, well-seasoned, and well...they were just what my taste buds were pining for! Lola checked on us frequently and made us feel welcome and appreciated. We'll be back! Thank you, Lola!
