It's not a bad place to go, and the cakes and other desserts are decent. BUT. What I do have a problem with is being charged $4 to put 3 small onion rings o n my hamburger. I got the seasonal burger which had pineapple and sauteed onions. I asked if the sauteed onions could be swapped out for onion rings. Sure, no problem the waitress said... Nothing about an upcharge or the sort. Check came, and there was the ridiculous upcharge. $17 (burger plus upcharge) for a decent burger with pineapple and onion rings is RIDICULOUS. Oh, Gregg's. This 5/5 is just for their dessert. I'm not a fan of their food- it's kind of old people food but not terrible. But their desserts!!! It's all about their cakes and pies, and I'm a snob. The chocolate layer cake, strawberry short cake, heath bar crunch cake, and pecan pie are to die for. If I was taking out of towners to one dessert location this would be it!! I've been eating at Greggs for a long time, I even worked here years ago. Everything was good, our server Sean was friendly and attentive, and the food was delicious as always. However, I've never dealt with hosting staff this horrible in my life. Keep in mind, I have worked in restaurants for over 10 years and worked with horrible hosting staffing as well. Trinity and the other host (a short girl with a high bun) were negligent and rude. When we walked in they informed us there was a 15 minute wait (no problem), and told us to wait outside and that they would come and get us to seat us. After waiting for 25 minutes and watching many people enter, we checked back with them and were informed we would be sat immediately, never asked for our name or anything. Trinity was so busy texting on her cellphone she couldn't bother to listen to us to answer a question we asked her twice, before saying "mhm" and literally waving us on with her hand to follow the other host to a table. The other host walked us all the way to the back of the almost empty restaurant, passing 5 clean tables, before proceeding to seat us at a dirty table, like dried on food and crumbs all over the table and booth dirty. I had to ask her to wipe the table (not that it should have been an issue in the first place, and I am VISIBLY very pregnant) and she loudly grunted to show her displeasure with my request. Later when going to the bathroom, I overheard Trinity talking about us specifically to other staff members so loudly you could hear her in the bathroom area, talking about the "bitchy women" at table 72 (I know the table numbers from working here so I knew that's where we were seated). Looking to replace these hosts should be on the top of their priority list, considering if I hadn't been someone who eats here pretty regularly I would have left with the attitude I was given. read more

I have eaten at Greggs for a very long time. And I do not think I have a ever left this establishment unsatisfied. There food is spot on. Although I feel like the food is a little pricey for what you get, I still have no problem ordering a meal and never get upset with the price. But honestly, the dessert. The food, great... The dessert, unbelievable. I mostly go there for there chocolate layer cake. The cake has a great moist texture and a sprinkle of chocolate crisps on the nicely speed frosting. It was so dry and the bread was soggy it was hardly edible.This is our second time no pickles no bread which we asked for and didn't receive. It was. Called. In so. I go to Greggs often. I have a lot of dietary restrictions l, but I can always find something I can eat here which is great. However, nearly every time I do takeout there is a mistake. For example, I asked for no cabbage yesterday with my corned beef and was still given cabbage. Nothing major, but just make sure you check your order before leaving when doing takeout! read more

The food was excellent! The place is very clean and upbeat and the cakes and pies on display are beautiful and enticing. Our server Rhiannon was excellent and made the whole dining experience even better. She put our food in for courses so not everything was going to be shoved at us. The food was excellent, soup was hot and delicious and the chicken for the chicken parm was freshly fried and moist. Same going for the chicken cutlet dinner. We even had to get slices of cake to go! I tried calling the restaurant to speak with a manager but the phone just kept ringing and ringing so here I go...I never do this, a first time for everything I guess. Went in tonight at 6pm to order at takeout counter..a blonde girl with long hair in a bun, (Michaela) that was working the counter needs a personality. Absolutely no people skills, not even a "hello" or "thank you have a good night." I LOVE Gregg's. Every single time I've eaten here the food had been on point. There's never a miss! One of my go to dishes is the Shepard's pie. It has just enough seasoning and is a great portion. The pickles are delish as well as the chocolate cake and churches noodle soup. read more

My wife and I came in for a Multiple Sclerosis Support group meeting a few months ago where we received "diner like" almost equivalent to "truck stop" service in the far corner of the back room. During this visit the older, completely ambivalent woman spilled hot coffee on the table and was barely attentive. We chalked this visit up to the fact that we were a larger group of about 12 people taking up 4 tables and not ordering a lot so it was possible that the server had some animosity towards the fact that we may have been costing her money on the night. Last night (Labor Day) I took my wife and in-laws in. We sat in the back corner once again and ended up with the same server who belongs in a truck stop diner. I did not spoil our dinner by complaining, but the service and attitude of the woman was horrendous! Questions like "what's your drink order?" and when my 80 year old Father in law tried to make joking conversation she said "yeah ok, think about what you want and I'll be back." We were going to order an appetizer but it took her so long to come to the table I I didn't want to prolong the event. Very disappointed! Not sure why you keep servers around like this? I'm sure others have complained. Has she never been spoken to by management or is this the old school culture of Gregg's who has a large enough older generation crowd to sustain their business to not care about quality service and common courtesy? To me it's an insult. I spent my $$ on a poor experience. Not sure what her name was but she was in her late 50's, about 5'8" tall with short light colored hair. Needless to say she did not receive a tip from me and I'm pretty sure I have seen several faces just as miserable as hers going through the motions in your dining room. read more

Every time we go to Greggs we are blown away by the desserts. Our favorite was the cannoli cookie? I believe this was a seasonal special. Amazing.
