One of the branches in London offering the Greggsnut, i.e. a non-Cronut. There were a few people in line, but not for the cro-not. They were pre-made, 3 of each on trays in the display. They looked like the pictures on the website. Got 1 of each for £1.25/cronot, summer berries and caramel pecan. Got some coffee and took a bite of each, and they're disgusting. Hard and sugar glazed, like bad, stale crullers. Definitely not anything like real cronuts. Disappointed, shoved them in a bag to go. Later, decided to give another go and popped them in a microwave. And guess what, they're fabulous. With a bit of heat, they managed to transform themselves into lumps of chewy goodness oozing with caramel and berry compote. Devoured in 1 sitting with masses of coffee. Not bad in and of itself, just don't think of the Greggsnut as a Cronut. read more
