This isn't any fancy bakery, it really is a small shop that you could find inside a gas station. Was a clean and quiet location with the staff fairly kind as well. So I had to try out the famous Greggs Sausage Roll and it was alright. I don't really get the hype behind this, yes it's flaky but it surely does not have that much flavour. I found it to be a bit on the undercooked side. I also tried the Chicken Bake and Sparkling Rasberry Lemonade. Overall was a good experience and happy I got to check it out! 7/10 recommend!

We had been art-gallery hopping for a while in both Bethnal Green and Whitechapel, when we felt the urge for something warm and filling and this pie shop on the otherwise relatively gloomy high street, was a welcome sight. Decorsiwes, it's still very much reminiscent of other fast-food restaurants around here, but the service was really nice and we felt quite well-taken care of. I ordered the "Very Hot Pie" and my other half ordered the "Tika Masala Pie" - both of which I thought were very nice. The mushy peas on the side were tasty, and the grilled vegetables did the trick. All in all, this is a good lunch option and I would recommend coming by here if you're in need for some exotic pies!

All formats of the ever so versatile potato are more than welcome in my belly (obviously apart from the offensively bland boiled version) but my absolute favourite would have to be the jacket. It is officially the best thing since sliced bread, which is actually a bit crap when you think of the all the superior modern day alternatives. One of my favourite JP hangouts is No 1 Cafe. It's just around the corner from my old work and I used to go there every lunch time, because quite frankly a Pret a Manger sandwich will do nothing to stem the perpetual hangover of London's unfortunate retail worker community. A jacket potato on the other hand with lashings of butter- dumped on the hot potato before the filling rather than provided in a pathetic sachet afterwards (seriously, this has happened to me before) is just what the alcoholic ordered. Speaking of fillings, No 1 has them all. From old standards like beans and cheese to gross inventions like minted lamb. You can have these fillings in a sandwich on various different types of bread but to be honest, if your going for carbs, you might as well go whole hog as it were.

Not…read morewanting to hassle with finding a good restaurant, I saw that the Euston train station was a block from my hotel. I set off on food figuring I could at least grab SOMETHING acceptable to eat. I settled on the West Cornwall Pasty because it was one of the few eateries in the station that had British food (and when in Rome...I mean, London....). I opted for the potato and onion pasty, a vegetarian item that I usually love at other pie shops. It was large and quite heavy, and way too much for me to eat by myself. Turns out the huge portion size didn't matter because I ended up only taking a few bites and throwing the rest away. The pastry was flaky enough, but also felt very dense and heavy. The stuffing was fine, but nearly flavorless. The potatoes were undercooked and I didn't get much of an onion flavor that I was hoping would be there. The pastry crust was overdone. I also found the temperature to be way too cold. This thing wasn't even served to me warm, and it would've probably been a lot better had it been hot. This pasty felt like it had been sitting under a heatlamp all day, which it very well may have been. To top it off, I had to pay train station prices that were far too high for the lack of quality. I'd skip this place. There are obviously far better pasty and pie shops in town, and this isn't even passable for a train station.
