For a small shop, there was a wide selection of Swedish items (see photos). For my fika, I ordered a Kanelbullar and a slice of Princess Torte (cake). Execution of the food was great, but flavor wise was hit and miss. I wanted to try so many pastries but I know desserts from other countries can differ greatly. I had a spinach and cheese pocket and ate some of a veggie sandwich. The pocket was good and savory with a flakey phyllo dough shell. The veggie sandwich was lacking in flavor and on the bland side. The pastel de nata pastry was delicious. It was the same as an egg custard tart. The apple pie however was disappointing. Nothing like the chunky spice laden apple pie filling you find in the states. Biodegradable wood utensils are used here which is cool. I liked this bakery and all they had to offer.

PACKED! and... OUTSTANDING!…read more This bakery was on a side-street right next to out hotel in London, and we came several mornings for coffee and pastries. One morning, I showed up right before they opened at 7:30 and there were already people lined up. The pastries here (savory and sweet) were all incredible. Some of the best we had in all of Europe. They have coffee, matcha, tea, etc. There is no seating inside, just some benches outside. I really loved the pan suisse and a cinnamon/cardamom flaky roll situation that's formal name is escaping me (I am not Julia Child).

My only regret…read moreis I wish I had more people with me or I wish I was hungrier cuz I really wanted to order ALLLL the pastries! My husband and I decided to try for a table and we ended up waiting about 45 min - 1 hour to sit. There was a super short line for to-go pastries (and sometimes there was no line), so if you're pressed for time, definitely do that! I love how the Arome workers help move the line along and help people in line find tables. Also speaking of Arome, the AROMA was fantastic! It smelled to buttery and fantastic both inside and while waiting in line. I ended up trying: the iconic Honey Butter Toast, Black Sesame Mochi Cookie, and Almond and Chocolate Croissant, a Savory Croissant (I think Sausage and Cheese), a Chai, and a Matcha. Everything was SO GOOD. All the pastries were amazing. I'm glad we got a mix of sweet and savory things. Everything we had was buttery, flaky, intentional, and made with love. What you'll like the most will depend on your personal flavor preferences! Definitely give this place a try!
Arome produced pastries both beautiful and divine!…read more On the recommendation of friends, we made a stop by here for a Monday breakfast. According to their website, they deliver "European excellence with Asian flair" which is really a great way to describe their pastries and the experience! Definitely the quality that you would expect with some of those Asian flavors. Here is what we tried: Chocolate Pistachio Escargot (5/5): Shaped in a snail shell, in between the flaky layers of pastry were luscious chocolate sprinkled with pistachio for nutty texture. Really enjoyed this one! Honey Butter Toast (4/5): Touted as their signature, I had high expectations for this. It is exactly as described which that slightly sweetness from the honey in a perfectly toasted milk bread. I did enjoy this a lot but also felt like it would benefit by having something else for texture or contrast. Chicken Butter Croissant (4/5): The croissant had the nice flaky layer with chewy interior. I loved the savory chicken sausage with the slightly sweet soy glaze that provided nice contrast and that Asian twist. When we got there a little after opening, there was no line but all the seats were taken as the place is quite limited on seats. While we were asked to wait for a little a bit outside, we did not have to wait too long. However, the line did end up getting longer as we were leaving and some ended up eating outside. Overall, if you are interested in tasting some tasty pastries, I would recommend Arome!

I live in the U.S. so finding delivery places in other countries can be difficult. Their customer service was the best I've come across in a long time (I had a few questions and corresponded via email a few times). I'd reccomend checking out the bakery as this is where the fresh goodies are made and you're more likely to get the fresh batch here. Price wise, it's a bit steep. For 6£, it's not bad. It's pretty sizable and a good shareable snack! It's a good crusty bread and had a subtle garlic flavor with a blend of stringy cheese. If you like cheesy garlic bread, this is for you! Out of all the snacks you could get in the borough market, this is a solid option! But I wouldn't go out of my way to come here.
