Ham & cheese croissant was solid - the exterior was crispy and flaky, though I wish there were more filling inside. Sausage roll was quite delicious with a flaky crust and good amount of meat inside. But heck, yeah, I have thoughts and I will now share them: So...I've never had any of the savoury options here, even though the triplet of women (i.e., 3 women, not *actual triplets*) behind me all went for the soup. Perfect PR plants or indicator that I should return for lunch? Probz latter. Double shout-outs for the flatbread (ish) pizza which looked DELISH, as well as the prepped sammiches. I am a big fan of the service here; I know I write about it a lot in my Yelp reviews, but how warm / welcome I feel going in to a place is a biggie for me. I was asked 3x if I was being served, and it wasn't pushy it was just a warm and kind of "we know it's midday on a weekday and we want to make sure you're taken care of" vibe. Appreciated. I just ran out of my much-loved go-to Monmouth, and was pleased to discover that Sweet not only makes coffee but sells beans (WIN!). 6 GBP for 250g. later, and I'm set for the rest of the week. What I really want to call out is the slices of deeeeeelishus cake and their macarons. They are perfectly crisp with a little bit of softness in the middle (like they should be, gang!) and the fillings are simple and uncomplicated but great complements. So, full flavoured vanilla, raspberry, pistachio, chocolate, coffee. Yelp note: yeah, I'm gonna say it again: really like the people, really like the vibe, really like all that I've tried (so far). Spoons up in favour of Sweet!

Then I began a search of London. Could I procure Key limes and make the pie myself? That idea quickly fell flat and that's where Hummingbird Bakery appeared. Only problem was the pie. Nice as it was, every person who'd had proper Key lime pie in the past had the same reaction after tucking in: it lacked the punchy zest -- the mouth puckering tanginess -- they always associate with this dessert.
