    The Dutchman and a pint.
    Zachary J.

I tried The Dutchman and it did not disappoint! Had a great pint as well and enjoyed the low key ambiance. Definitely stop by to say hi and enjoy a quick bite.

    Shakshuka and eggs Benedict

The food was amazing and the shakshuka with the buttery bread was perfect. My friend had the eggs Benedict which she also loved! Will definitely come back again for brunch again. There was a bit of wait so recommend coming here earlier if you can!

Fantastic meal and setting. I had an amazing dirty chai latte and The Dutchman. Everything was so good. Our servers were very attentive and took great care of us while we were here for ADE.

Such amazing food and authentic hot chocolate! The view outside is also very worthwhile. I highly recommend and will be back next time I visit!

Veggie Breakfast - prettier than it tastes.

I'm a big Yelp girl so I came here based on the pictures and rave reviews. Can confirm that this spot was mid, at best. Let's get into it. The wait - boy was there a WAIT. We sat outside for at least an hour and a half but I was committed to the vibes, and filled my empty stomach with hope to pass the time. Service - it was alright. Not terrible, not the friendliest. Other tables seemed to have better experiences, so take with that what you will. The food & drinks - - Green Tea: Tasteless and seemingly caffeine free. Would not recommend this green-tinted hot water. - Veggie Breakfast: Aesthetically, she was a vibe. Taste-wise, nothing to write home about. The cheese was a little over cooked and the sausage was not it. The rest of the plate (eggs/potatoes/bread/mushrooms) were fine, but it doesn't exactly take a rocket scientist to prep those. I had originally wanted to order a dish with avocado - they ran out. My friend wanted to order Shakshouka - they ran out. I appreciate when a restaurant lets us know that they are out of something before we have to play Russian Roulette with the menu, but call me crazy. All in all, we had so much great food in Amsterdam and this one was basic and missed the mark. Would have much rather spent my time waiting and eating elsewhere. 7/9/23 Update 1) Confirming that me and the 3 other people (4 total) that dined there did in fact wait 1.5 hours due to our group size when we were originally quoted 30 minutes. 2) Their lack of avocado was not communicated to us - they just said "sorry, no more avocado" vs. specifying that it was not available due to environmental reasons. 3) Confirming that they did run out of shakshouka, or at least that is what was communicated to us. If they didn't want to serve it to us for another reason, that is an entirely different matter. 4) For customers that have traveled a very long way, we would have hoped for a little more courtesy vs. having fingers pointed at us for the average (at best) experience. We sincerely hope that others have a better experience than ours.

Cute little restaurant on a canal. Small and intimate, I liked the ambiance. There is seating outside but got there upon opening to avoid standing in line, chose inside seating because it was a bit chilly outside. Greeted with very friendly staff. Good service. Ordered the vegetarian breakfast, requested it to be made vegan. Also got a fruit smoothie and soy latte, both delicious. The food was very good except I thought the tofu scramble was underwhelming. It tasted of tumeric but not much else. Tasted better with some brown sauce and the roasted tomato. Everything else was very yummy and I would definitely recommend this restaurant!!

This little gem was well worth the wait. Cozy vibe but never quiet this place stays busy and the food is why. Their Amsterdam eggs Benedict was everything. All locally farmed ingredients the freshness was delicious. My scrambled eggs fluffy yummy with the pancakes layered with bacon strips in between which is just the way I would've done myself. Don't lose your patience with the wait, unless it's freezing outside cause we thought about quitting twice. So glad we didn't.

Wonderful location overlooking the canal. Small and quaint. Waited in queue for about 15minutes, it gets pretty busy. I got the blueberry pancakes wand a side of eggs which were great.

Amazing cozy vibes to escape the cold. We got the bubble and squeak, breakfast quesadilla (not pictured) and the shakshuka. All were packed with so much flavor. Great value for your money.

    Eggs Benedict with benefits.

Really good full English Breakfast. Massive, actually. Gets busy but service is spot on and fast. Fantastic for the morning after.

Food looks pretty and tastes amazing!! Good indoor and outdoor space, there may be a line when you arrive but get your name on the list and you will be happy you waited! Great portions and super unique and tasty food!

This was the perfect place to meet for brunch on a Friday morning. The comment on the menu that modifications cannot be made during busy times freaked me out because sometimes I order things without cheese due to lactose intolerance but as we were ordering and asking questions, the server suggested how she could accommodate my friend's dietary concerns with a modification to her order. The food came out quickly and was delicious and plentiful. I choose The Veggie: Two eggs cooked to order with Halloumi, crispy roast potatoes, avocado, portobello mushroom, roast tomato, baked beans and homemade tomato chutney. You can add bacon for a cost or switch the eggs/halloumi cheese with spinach if you're vegan. It was more than enough for a big breakfast. The service was friendly and efficient. Since it's cozy in the restaurant and busy during prime brunch hours, the bill was brought to our table in a timely manner. I appreciated her efficiency.

As a fan of both chewy/soft or alternatively crispy cookies, I appreciated the crunch on honingwafel that contrasted with its gooey center. Walking into around 2pm the bakery was steadily busy though didn't feel excessively crowded. A couple customers or groups would trickle in at a time, there were two people in line in front of me, perfect for me to take in the options and decide what to get. There are about 5-6 smaller cafe tables set up for about 2-3 people each, not a place for larger groups. The staff (woman at the counter), was friendly and helpful when I asked about the differences in the wafels, her recommendations, and what some of the other baked goods were. I was very curious about the gember køek and she said that was her favorite in the store. So I got: - honingwafel €3.60: as mentioned above crispy cookies with a honey syrup center. I'm kinda curious what this consisted of since it tasted less sweet than only honey itself. Level of sweetness is probably 6 or 7 out of 10. I ate it by itself and thought it would go well with some coffee or tea. As you're eating a little of the syrup may be squeezed out of the sandwich at the edges so take care. As they sold more, I saw fresh cookies being prepared on the side. - gember køek €3.20: as a ginger lover, I couldn't say no to this one; it's an almond cookie covered on top with chunks of candied ginger. A softer crumb, the ginger pieces were very sweet, cloyingly so that after eating about half (on a separate day than the wafel) I wish I had a cup of black coffee in the moment. - speculaasbrokken €5.50: crispy speculos cookies (think those bischoff ones they serve on Delta flights also widely available in US grocery stores now), but house-made and with almond slivers on top. I found them slightly less dense and with a texture similar to a crunchy graham cracker. I'm curious about their black current and poppyseed pastries, and would gladly drop by again to try these!
