Excellent food & the owner is very friendly! Would definitely come back & recommend to others. We had to eat breakfast early and the place opens at 8 AM. It really saved us and allowed us to make our schedule for the rest of the day.

Great breakfast food at a great value in a homely feel. The owner Mandy was super kind and sweet and very attentive. She told us her store is fairly new in the area and you can tell she really values her customers. The service is swift and she's happy to talk to visitors about the area and Amsterdam. Food-wise, the Dutch pancakes were great - all the toppings you want for free! The English breakfast for 9.50 is a great value as well! And of course, like all places in Amsterdam, free wifi!

Walked over from the Marriott for a bite to eat. It was Thursday so Mandy made everything for us herself. A truly delightful person and a small business owner - just started this business in the past year and doing very well! Her personal touches can be seen everywhere. So kind and inviting and free WiFi! The pancakes are great! It's so inviting and warm you get the vibe right away! Mandy pours her heart and soul into this place. Go and just say hi!

The pancakes + all the topping choices make this place - AWESOME! We stopped in with the kids to get the traditional Dutch pancakes before we leave for home and this place really delivered. 1st time I have ever let my kids have ice cream on a pancake they loved it.

Only place open at 8am near the Van Gogh museum. Pleasant staff, good size portions, and yummy coffee. We had crepes and eggs, very tasty.

This is wonderful small and adorable restaurant i decided to check out based on other reviews- I ordered scrambled eggs, bacon, toast and cafe latte- all done perfectly by the same women who waited and cooked and bussed all tables with a cheerful efficiency that was a marvel to witness!

Amazing pancakes! Light, fluffy and with crispy edges. I had mine with Nutella and cinnamon ice cream, and it all came together perfectly. Plus, Mandy is such a hospitable host, and the ambience of the cafe is fitting of its name. A definite must try if you're in Amsterdam!

The Dutch pancake with tomato and old cheese. It was marvelous!

I went here with my mom a few weeks ago for our last breakfast in Amsterdam. The restaurant is very clean, decorated well, and easy to get to, and cosy! Mandy greeted us immediately when we entered and her service was fantastic. She was so friendly and so attentive. My mom and I each ordered a coffee and dutch pancake. The food came out in good time and was hot, fresh, and delicious. Had we visited Mandy earlier in our trip, I'm sure we would have gone for breakfast there every day. I'm already crossing my fingers that I can make a return trip one day!

Amsterdam Sunday morning, the most amazing place to have a great experience and some delicious food. The best place to have breakfast. Mandy is a great host and is a super combination with Chef . I recommend this place and give it 5 Stars

We had a perfectly ok meal here but not stellar. Very tight quarters and not super friendly service. Good but not special is my overall thought. The Dutch Pancake was a treat.

First of all, when walking in you are warmly greeted. I was waiting for a friend and so the women showed me the different seating areas to choose from. I love the variety! My favorite is the couch... They can also add more water to the pot so you can get sometimes 3-5 pots from the one set of leaves! Also, you are served which I find lovely. I can't wait to go back and take my husband. As a fan of both chewy/soft or alternatively crispy cookies, I appreciated the crunch on honingwafel that contrasted with its gooey center. Walking into around 2pm the bakery was steadily busy though didn't feel excessively crowded. A couple customers or groups would trickle in at a time, there were two people in line in front of me, perfect for me to take in the options and decide what to get. There are about 5-6 smaller cafe tables set up for about 2-3 people each, not a place for larger groups. The staff (woman at the counter), was friendly and helpful when I asked about the differences in the wafels, her recommendations, and what some of the other baked goods were. I was very curious about the gember køek and she said that was her favorite in the store. So I got: - honingwafel €3.60: as mentioned above crispy cookies with a honey syrup center. I'm kinda curious what this consisted of since it tasted less sweet than only honey itself. Level of sweetness is probably 6 or 7 out of 10. I ate it by itself and thought it would go well with some coffee or tea. As you're eating a little of the syrup may be squeezed out of the sandwich at the edges so take care. As they sold more, I saw fresh cookies being prepared on the side. - gember køek €3.20: as a ginger lover, I couldn't say no to this one; it's an almond cookie covered on top with chunks of candied ginger. A softer crumb, the ginger pieces were very sweet, cloyingly so that after eating about half (on a separate day than the wafel) I wish I had a cup of black coffee in the moment. - speculaasbrokken €5.50: crispy speculos cookies (think those bischoff ones they serve on Delta flights also widely available in US grocery stores now), but house-made and with almond slivers on top. I found them slightly less dense and with a texture similar to a crunchy graham cracker. I'm curious about their black current and poppyseed pastries, and would gladly drop by again to try these! We opted for the tea brunch, so we climbed the spiral staircase in the back and found a small, tastefully decorated dining room with a table that seats up to 5, a bright window overlooking the street, and a fireplace with a faux flame. First tea is served with a selection of teas from their downstairs shop. Next comes homemade scones with clotted cream and lemon curd and fresh squeezed orange juice to drink. Next, Niels brings in lux sandwiches made of salmon, tuna, blue cheese walnuts and more. Finally for dessert there is homemade Dutch apple pie, butter cakes and brownies.
