Since then, the care has become less personalized and more generic. My new complaint is the new service charge of 2.5% when using a credit card. Supposedly it does not exceed their CC charge and does not apply to debit cards (which I used) but a CC charge is a cost of doing business for the convenience of your patients. This seems like a way to boost revenue and had me grumbling the whole time there. They also stopped taking AMEX which was another kicker. If it wasn't for Dr. Jhaveer and Debbie, I would be looking for another eye doctor.

I was told that day that the same eye with the cornea issue had cellular issues and may need surgery to repair the cells. They scheduled a follow-up to check on the cellular issue. The cornea issue was a known issue for years. I had not heard of the cellular issue until this day. When I went back a month or so later as recommended for the follow up, the machine that reads the eyes' cells was acting up again. I was there neatly 4 hours for what was supposed to be a simple follow up. They eventually were able to get scans and said cells looked normal and the original scan must have been bad. Then Dr. Slade said my cornea looked fine and I did not have a cornea problem, which was concerning because a month prior he looked at my eye and said he could see the cornea issue. When I reminded him that I have had a cornea issue for 30+ years and he saw it a month prior, he insisted my cornea was fine. In addition, I never received a prescription for eye glasses, so I called to get a copy since I went there for my annual exam. I was directed to go to an optometrist. Mind you, I was charged for each visit. I wasted my time and have to start over with another doctor. Something is amiss. I would not recommend.

Everything went well, and they even got me signed up to participate in a contrast sensitivity study to help offset some of the cost of the surgery. I currently go there still for regular check ups with my optometrist. She's stellar and does a great job of keeping up with clients even though she only sees them once every 6 or 12 months. The front desk staff are pretty good but can be frustrating at times. I frequently get appointments that get canceled and rescheduled after they were booked, or they'll occasionally reassign you to a different doctor rather than your regular one without even telling you.

Instead they say "yes we can do all of this for you" and they can't. They are also lacking basic phone manners. I made an appointment for a routine eye exam for new eyeglass lenses AND a diabetic eye exam. They assured me that the appointment would be scheduled with a doctor that can do both which is what I asked for. "WRONG" They did not acknowledge nor make an appointment for a routine eye exam for me, only the diabetic eye exam. I was told their focus was not routine eye exams for new lenses. I verified that these services were covered by my Insurance company before making the appointment and verified the coverage before writing this review. When they told me that I would have to pay $59 fee for each eye exam, I asked them if they verified my insurance and they said the do not verify insurance, they only go thru medical. Had they verified my insurance that would have seen that everything I asked for was covered medical or not!!! I only chose them because another appointment choice elsewhere would have been the end of Jan 2027, which was unacceptable. What kind place is this??? The only thing I can say good about my visit is the lady that checked me in, the doctor that did the diabetic eye exam and his assistant, were great. They were the only thing good and HONEST about my visit on yesterday!!! I will never do business with HEA again and will bad mouth them every chance I get. Management has some issues to be resolved.

It's been a pleasant experience from the first day I picked up the phone to call and ask questions from CINDY. Everyone was really kind and caring which made me feel really comfortable . Dr. Scott Segal is a professional at what he does and he was very kind, informative, and caring. I did thorough research into who I should pick to go with for my lasik surgery and I'm glad to have picked him. I'm currently recovering from the procedure and it seems to be going great. Dr. Scott also gave me his personal number in case I have any questions or concerns. All information regarding financing, prescriptions, and scheduling were easy to follow. Sanders and his staff are very friendly. Their office is easy to get to, just close enough to Greenway Plaza to be accessible from the freeway but without being in the main complex itself. He is a former Fulbright scholar having studied overseas in Europe. I'm not sure but I believe he may also be connected still with the Baylor College of Medicine.

Dr. Lee explained what her reasoning was for every step of the exam and tailored the exam to my needs with lots of communication, while her techs did a lot of the work so she could focus on interacting with me. I've never had such a quick vision exam before and I've been severely myopic since age 5. The clinic is also equipped with a lot of instruments that make routine exams quick and easy-- they can even tell the prescription on your glasses from simply examining your lenses. The fundus exam was painless and easy compared to past fundus exams I've had and for a new patient, it is free. If you plan to get a new frame at vision optique, they have a decent selection of frames of various styles, from Kate spade to Tom ford or Gucci, ranging from 200-400 dollars (at least from the ones I inspected). The clinic is located inside of a larger mall and they have 8 assigned parking spaces just for vision optique (several were available when I visited on a weekday afternoon). There is no bathroom on the first flooor and you must venture upstairs for it. I've been to many optometrists and rarely do I find one that is so professional and kind. At vision optique, your vision exam will be done in the blink of an eye!
