they add stevia even though it isn't listed as an ingredient, can't request no stevia when you order on line and they refuse to take order on the phone blaming my Apple iPhone devise as the problem. Can't order banana whip on the website and won't take the order on the phone. All the time they took to tell me I must be on the wrong website or it's user error they could have taken my order. I will never go there again. Poor customer service. read more

It's great to have a healthy choice in Newtown! I went in yesterday and got the "Greens for Life" bottled juice and a bowl of the minestrone soup. I appreciated the "Greens for Life" juice because it wasn't too sweet. They have other bottled juices that are sweeter though - I am looking forward to trying a new one next time. The soup was also delicious - PACKED with all kinds of veggies and beans. (I wished it had a little more salt though;). I would probably go in more often if there were more "meal replacement" smoothies with no juice; for example, something like: avocado, coconut or almond milk, spinach, kale, hemp seeds, protein powder, dates or local honey or banana. Mmmm! read more

Best juice bar around!!! Always so tasty & filling. They have ton of varieties and options. Staff is very friendly as well. Love getting my weekly açaí bowl or smoothie. Wish they had one in Doylestown as well. read more

I was really hoping this place would be good as there arent many places like it in the area. I got a shake and a bowl and was pretty disappointed in both. They were both very bland. If you're expecting this place to live up to the quality ones on the west coast, you are going to be disappointed as well. The store was also very noisy inside, which was another turn off. I also think they are overpriced for what they give you (small smoothie and a bowl was $20). If you have nothing to compare this place, you might really enjoy it. But if you've been to other places, (especially on the west coast), I'm not sure you will. read more

I love their smoothies and I've turned several of my gym friends onto them but lately they've been using paper straws. These straws are not sturdy and you cannot take more than 5 sips of your $8+ smoothie before the straw gives out having to throw out your drink. It's very disappointing. Until they replace these awful straws I will not be back. read more

I ordered an açaí bowl from the menu online. It has granola in it. The menu did not have any warnings that the granola contained walnuts. I have a nut allergy and became very sick. I have never been inside so I don't know if that menu has a warning but please update your online menu. read more

So I went there and they gave me a sippable lid and It just didn't work so I asked for a straw. The older lady rolled her eyes gave me the straw however made us give back our lids. I said I i sipped from it and she said that's ok we will just rinse it off. They lost my business forever. read more

So I came to greenstraw for the first time and I never looked at their menu before. I ordered an acai bowl and banana whips. BOTH with granola. I didn't realize the granola had nuts in it and when it was given to me I saw that and thought I wasted $13. So I talked to one of the women working here super nice. She asked her boss and they switched it out free of charge. Super friendly staff and they saved my life (literally). Highly recommend and there food is great! read more

I haven't been here in years but I ordered a banana whip today and it was absolutely delicious. Greenstraw is so underrated and has such a good menu with clean ingredients! I definitely will be going back this week! read more

So happy to have an organic smoothie shop in the area! My first visit was a happy one. I love that you can add in ingredients and pick your greens. I would have loved to see avocado on the menu as an add in, and the smoothie was a little on the watery side, but I was happy none the less. I am excited to try an acai bowl next visit. My one slight drawback would be the employees seemed young and unprofessional. We walked in and were the only customers in the store. The girls behind the counter continued to talk and giggle for a couple of minutes before addressing us and continued socializing while she was taking our order. Pet peeve of mine. read more

Came in from out of town and the hubby and I immediately searched for a juice bar. This place is a juicers heaven. We only wish we had a place like this closer to home! Organic, non-gmo, fresh juices with great additions like hemp, chia, etc. Friendly service, clean, modern atmosphere, free wi-fi, and a lovely indoor and outdoor cafe area to sit and enjoy. read more

If you want the best açaí bowl ever, try the Nutty Yum! I used curbside delivery last week to satisfy my addiction! Absolutely healthy and delicious! read more

I bought two juices and a pitya bowl for $31. That's ok for locally sourced juice and normal for a bowl, but I specifically asked if it tastes like banana (it was in the ingredients list). I was told no, it would only be sliced banana and that could be removed. I had it removed, but when I tried it, bananas were very clearly in the mixture itself. Pretty irritated I paid that much for something I really disliked eating. The bowl place in Doylestown is a lot better. read more

This place is AMAZING!!! First of all, they're all about our environment, keeping the earth AND our bodies clean and they make AMAZING smoothies. But what's even BETTER than their smoothies? The Banana Whip!!! Oh my gosh, I could eat that all day, every day. It tastes like banana ice cream...but it's only bananas! They take bananas at their ripe prime, freeze them and then put them through this really neat machine that makes them the consistency of...well...ice cream...or whipped cream. I got it recently with fudge and couldn't even finish it all, and I almost always finish my desserts. While it's under $10, everything is on the more expensive side. But if you think about how much fresh and organic fruits and veggies cost, it does make sense. Anyways...check it out. My favorite was the Tropical Dream. I've also had Georgia on My Mind, which was good, and Yogalicious, which was better that GoMM but not as good at TD. So yummy, though. Go. Trust me. I plan to in the next day or two. read more

I am THRILLED that Greenstraw is open in Newtown and find myself stopping there almost every time I'm in town. It's super convenient to have a place nearby that sells a variety of healthy options. I've actually lost about 10 lbs since they opened, which I partially contribute to having access to quick & easy healthy food. Personally, I love the juices, but I have also tried a couple smoothies which were very tasty. Since I don't drink dairy, I was happy to see that they use a variety of dairy substitutes like Almond Milk and Coconut Milk. The owner & staff are always super welcoming. I've been to other juice & smoothie bars in the past that act bothered by the more complicated orders but that is never the case at Greenstraw. They're always knowledgable and willing to answer questions about the food. read more

Very good green smoothies with a range of meal-replacement options. They cater to the green-smoothie newbie crowd, which means they don't pack a ton of greens but you can always ask for more. They're very accommodating and the prices are surprisingly low. There are two things that'd improve this place: - Nutrition information - All organic smoothies (I realize this would raise the price, but maybe focus on only some options) All in all, a much healthier option than *shudders* Smoothie King. read more

I really support what Green Straw stands for. They use a lot of healthy ingredients (plant protein powders, chia seeds, real fruit instead of juice). This place beats Smoothie King, or any of those large chain places any day. The smoothie I had from Green Straw was awesome. I'd go here more often, but I have the same equipment and ingredients in my own kitchen. read more

Stopped by when I was in Newtown the other day. I got the Tres Bayas Verde smoothie and was pleasantly surprised at how good it was. So much better than the chain smoothie places that use tons of sugar in all of their drinks. I will definitely come back and try something else. read more

the people who work are rude. I was there 5 minutes before closing and they kept the OPEN sign on and locked the door saying it is closed for the day. The smoothies are overrated and would totally avoid this place. read more

I take no pleasure in writing this review. I entered the store around 12:30 this past Saturday (6-7) after deciding to give Greenstraw a try vs my usual Smoothie King. When I walked in, my first impression was the absolute BLASTING of the music ( I believe it was The Killers) and the teenage "servers" huddled in a far corner yapping away. I stood there for a good three minutes and was completely ignored. I honestly believe they just couldn't hear me enter the store. I left angered and frustrated. I KNOW THIS IS A SMALL, LOCALLY OWNED SHOP. OWNERS, PLEASE KEEP A CLOSER EYE ON THESE KIDS -THEY WILL RUIN YOUR BUSINESS. read more

I hate to be the guy that leaves the one star review... but here I am. The thing is, when you're charging almost $10 for a smoothie or acai bowl, you've got to make sure your customers are getting their money worth. The bowl itself came out warm and poorly mixed, 20 minutes after ordering. I was the only one in the store unserved. Wait staff was apathetic and unfriendly. Nothing more really to say, other than we won't pay that kind of money for a bad product and even worse service again. If you're looking for awesome juices crafted with care, hit Doc Baker's in Doylestown. The man will take care of you. read more

Very yummy! I had the Zen smoothie and a banana whip and was very happy with both. The price is VERY good, especially for being in Newtown. I'll be back!! read more

My favorite smoothie place in Newtown. The patient staff lets you take your time ordering your drink and answer questions with enthusiasm. I like knowing the ingredients are very fresh and healthy so I feel I can indulge once or twice a week. read more

Smoothies are great, and I love that they give you all of the nutrition information online. I always need that and hate guessing, so to have it right there for you is super helpful. It is on the more expensive side, but most smoothie places are, so it's not out of line. Overall a great place! read more

So happy a smoothie shop opened up in Newtown. Greenstraw has an awesome selection. I had a fruit smoothie that was delicious.

I love this place. Amazing green Juice and smoothies. I would get them right after yoga. So refreshing

I really love the smoothies at greenstraw, and it is a very clean and nice atmosphere but the employees there are horrendous. I have a banana allergy and every time you try to ask an employee to substitute it for something else they give you a hard time and say they cant make it that way. Today the girl was annoyed i was changing the smoothie for something i cant help and then the young boy that made it was extremely lazy. The girl behind the counter said something to him about banana being in there and to make a new one. The lazy employee was trying to just scoop out the whole banana before he blended it so the older man told him to make a new one because of my allergy ( what if he wasnt there ? The kid would have just made it anyway) . So he made another one without banana and then when i recieved the smoothie it had HUGE chunks in it that i had to chew. There were WHOLE pieces of spinach. If you are going to charge nine dollars for ONE smoothie make sure your employees arent lazy and make it correctly. And be cautious and pay attention when people tell you they have an allergy. read more

Green Straw has the best smoothies I have ever tasted. They are amazing. I have been drinking a smoothie every day for 5 years and have tried many places - Green Straw is by far the best. There is nothing close to it. The banana whips are great as well! I love the fact that they offer wheat grass shots and other fresh juices as well as other healthy snacks and small meals. If I lived closer to Newtown I would be in there every day (probably multiple times). The staff is very friendly and the owners are great (very warm and knowledgeable). Great feel good atmosphere and having wifi is a huge plus. I recommend Green Straw to all my friends especially because it is very kid friendly. Greeen Straw is by far the best thing that happened to Newtown in 2013. read more

Greenstraw Smoothies has to be the best Newtown store opening in years! Everyone knows the classic saying "You are what you eat." With Greenstraw's delicious smoothies, I can now put all natural and healthy ingredients into my body while still satisfying my sweet tooth. In addition there is a large variety of smoothies which prevents me from ever getting bored. Even my kids are on board. Instead of asking for a trip to the ice cream store, they want smoothies from GreenStraw. The owner and staff couldn't be friendlier. They are eager to answer questions or make suggestions based on your individual tastes. I only wish they had opened years ago. read more

I am not a health nut, nor do I typically seek out healthy shops like this. BUT I have to say, the Salted Choco Peanut is delicious. It's definitely not sweet like a milkshake, but it grows on you. Check this place out! read more

Obsessed. Greensicle and Immunibee are my favorites by far. I wish I could afford to get smoothies here everyday. They are not only delicious but super healthy and filling. Love this place!!!!! read more

This is a super cute location and a great alternative to a fro-yo or coffee shop for spending time, I didn't try the bowls. They looked good, but one woman had to return hers while I was waiting for my order (she found pieces of plastic in her bowl). I did try a smoothie. I found it to be a bit expensive but I knew that going in from reading other reviews. I got the Leo's Favorite. I'll be honest - it was weird. Not super sweet, not very salty from the peanut butter, not very fruity. But it was okay-enough that I'd try a different flavor in the future. I also got a prepackaged juice to take with me. It was kale, celery, ginger, and possibly other things. I have to be honest - that was the worst thing I've ever tasted. It was so bad I spent the rest of my afternoon getting my coworkers to try it just so I could see their faces. It was like one of those videos where babies try lemons for the first time. I didn't even know celery could be that overpowering. How does celery trump ginger?!? It was also just terribly bitter and salty. Overall I felt that this place had a great look and feel but the actual products they were producing weren't up to public consumption. Next time I'll just buy a bottled drink from Bolthouse Farms. read more

my favorite place to come and get smoothies. being gluten/dairy free it is hard to find a place that has options. i know i can always count on greenstraw to have what works for my diet. i definitely recommend this place if you're looking for a healthy option for breakfast lunch or dessert! read more

Turn back the clock smoothie was very good. Hope they can come up with some nutrition info soon though. Very friendly and helpful with the menu items read more

The acai bowls are my favorite thing on the menu. I recommend asking for extra coconut and extra banana. The prices are a little on the higher side than say smoothie king, but you are getting REAL fruit in your smoothie. I also love the fact they use local honey in the acai bowls and smoothies. read more

I think the atmosphere is really nice and cute and the workers are very friendly. The menu is very health friendly and creative. I enjoyed my smoothie but it also tasted like something I could easily make at home but it makes sense since it is all natural ingrediants anyway. Only thing I would change is the price because it is a tad expensive. read more

Greenstraw - Juice Bars & Smoothies Near Me - Newtown, Pennsylvania

Delicious smoothies but an expensive treat! Mango tree is fantastic! Great place to sit outside and enjoy a beautiful day in Newtown....but watch out for the bees out back!!! read more

I really enjoy the smoothies at Greenstraw. My sister has been raving about their smoothies for months since moving to Langhorne - so I knew I had to try me one! I ordered the tres berries verdes green smoothie (I hope I am not butchering that name) - and it was delicious! I know that there are a few people who have commented on the price or wait time, but I would rather pay a little more, wait a little more for great ingredients. It's hard to find a place that caters to vegans in this area - and there are multiple options at Greenstraw for me! I have my eye on one of their acai bowls next....I'm coming for you! read more

This review is for the one in ferry market. Sign said they opened up at 9am. Was there at 9:05. Guy didn't even acknowledge my presence. When he finally did he just told me he wasn't quite ready to open yet. No hey give me a couple of minutes or anything. Also had a friend go in 30 minutes before they closed and they refused to serve her cause they already put their stuff away. It's not like it was 5minutes before. What's the point of saying you open and close at a specific time then? Maybe you should train your staff to have better customer service. read more

I was in a few week ago and ordered a banana whip with my friend. My friends banana whip was fine and mine was old, frozen and tasted like chunks of ice. When i approached the girl up front and told her, she acted as if she knew it was old. The service is very poor and the place very very dirty. As well as my complaint, someone else who was there also complained. Management needs to train their workers on good customer service and how to keep a business clean that involves food. read more
