I don't know who Jude is but if it's the old lady that profiled and followed me around the store the entire time I was there, I recommend you pick another retailer. We were very polite right from the moment we walked in, even complimenting her store, and barely got more than a "thanks". She then proceeded to follow us around the entire store asking if we had questions or if she could help with anything, each time getting increasingly more annoyed. Prices definitely aren't worth this "unique" experience. Ended up buying a $5 plant for my own collection, never coming back. read more

This is an incredible plant store, of which there are surprisingly quite a few in the Salem-Keizer area. My partner and I have never been too interested in gardening or planting (she refers to the house as "Plant Thunderdome") but lately we've been shopping for plants more and more. First it was just for pots for plants given to us, but now we're starting to get ideas. So while heading towards another nursey on Commercial, we noticed a sign that said "PLANTS" on the side of the street. My partner commented on, "That seems a strange place to have a plant store." We did not stop in then, but the next weekend, we were looking for somethin to do and thought about stopping by and checking it out. We're glad we did. The shop is small, but absolutely jammed with a huge selection and variety of plants. The woman who helped us immediately pointed us to the succulents and cactus section, which was what we were initially interested in, but left herself open for any questions. Which was awesome, because the place was absolutely -packed- for a Sunday. People were everywhere and it was a very upbeat and positive mood. Maybe it had something to do with the way the place smelled, but it was humming in a nice way. We looked around a few times and saw some interesting and unique pottery and some very dazzling plants. We went to leave, vowing to come back. As we headed back to the car, my partner noticed a bright, vivacious, purple-flowered plant hanging in the window by the side of the street. We went back inside to go look at it and fell in love with the color and the composure. We're still being careful about not buying high-maintenance plants, so we looked for someone to answer questions, but every employee at the time was helping someone else. We knew we'd be back, so rather than interrupt someone else's experience, we just planned on that. So follow up: My son -LOVES- the idea of plants. His favorite movie and musical is Little Shop Of Horrors. He can recite the movie line for line and will sing the songs constantly. So we're always on the lookout for our own "Audrey II" flytrap. All the plant stores we've found have some, but they're little things. They might eat gnats, but certainly not flies, and they're definitely not the big carnivorous plants that I remember as a kid. But we look. So we brought our sons here, and they were suitably impressed. They wandered the store with us, lightly touching the leaves and buds, gently and respectfully appreciating the whole store. We mentioned this to the woman helping us, who I believe is the owner, and she pointed out a very large pitcher plant in the front window. Well! That one looked a little bit more like what my son had in mind. Not quite the jaws, but huge pitchers that looked very deadly to small bugs. My son was enraptured, but disappointed when I told him that it was a "mother plant" (I think I got that right). The plant was in its permanent home. I did see that they sold cuttings of the plants from time to time. I asked about that and she told me that generally they will have a cutting sale sometime during the year. We're looking forward to getting a cutting off that plant. We also dithered over the beautiful purple plant we had seen in the window. We found out it just needed a lot of sun, and to be completely dry between waterings. That we can do! We got the plant, for a very nice price. My partner intends to plant it in a disco ball hanging planter. She's very excited. This is a great store, with some very friendly people, and a big variety of house plants to enjoy. We'll be going back many times, I'm sure. read more

Amazing selection of both common and rare(er) house plants & succulents along with an amazing selection of cute pots . For the size of the plants would say they were reasonably priced (especially compared to other places in the area). Staff is super friendly and educated. Jude is beyond amazing and nice, helpful with anything making sure you are all set to go. They can put drainage holes in any pots in the store free of charge as well as any others you bring in for $5! Amazing services! Would definitely recommend. read more

TL;DR - one of my favorite shops in town! There are a few other high quality plant shops in town, and I'm so glad this one's joined the party! Always different and fresh, great to wander around and peruse while you figure out which plant to buy because duh, of course you're going home with at least one. (now excuse me while I try to stay away to help my wallet recover) ____________________ SELECTION: So much variety! The plants are so pleasantly arranged throughout the shop - it's chaotic but in the best way. I mean, just expect to spend an hour walking around taking it all in before you start to decide (just me? okok). They also offer a sizeable selection of planters (sizes, colors, designs, aesthetics) for you to choose from, and they collaborate with local artists and artisans. Pro tip: pop by on Friday to see what they're running on their Five Dollar Friday table (or check their IG for a sneak peek - really, follow them regardless for the plant vibes). STAFF: Jude and Sam are SO great. I've only (already?) been in about 3 times and it's always a pleasure to chat with them while I browse. They're both plant gurus with so informative and insight, and they can steer you toward the right plant(s) for your needs or just chat about what's new in the shop. PLUS they take the time to package your haul so intentionally (read: sturdy cardboard box, tissue paper - it's totally like a gift for myself each time). SPACE/LOCATION: I love their location on Commercial and Bush! It's a beautiful corner storefront with floor-to-ceiling glass walls which is brilliant because, I mean...plants! This plant store is AMAZING. We stumbled on it today after heading downtown to check out a different plant store--we saw people in there through the windows at 3 PM but the doors were locked! It was lame, and we could tell the prices matched. Anyway, we saw the neon PLANTS sign on this shop while driving down commercial & decided to check it out. It did not disappoint!! I got 5 gorgeous & healthy plants that I love for great prices! They even had a $5 Friday table where I scored the 2 medium sized plants in the pic. I got the 2 cute little pots too... the owner even drilled holes in them & planted the babies for me! My 2 year old had legos and Dino's to play with while we shopped. Needless to say, it's my family's new favorite store. read more

I'm in love with this place! It is beyond beautiful! I would love to just sit in there and just admire all the plants and how beautiful the displays are. They employees are so lovely and helpful with every question I had! She has cuttings in cute little bottles and just such a wonderful range of house plants. They also sell their own potting mix and other types of dirt for your plant needs. I bought quite a few, even one that wasn't out yet, but I fell for the mother plant and she brought out a baby! You can also text her if you have any concerns or questions which is so nice and the way she packages your plants in cute boxes with tissue paper. She is truly goals! read more

STAFF IS THE BEST! everyone in this store is very friendly, and they have a wonderful selection of healthy plants from tropicals to cacti, with pots to pair said plants with. if you have some money and need houseplants, i would recommend going here for some wonderful service and beautiful plants. the environment of this store feels very welcoming and jude even gives out free cuttings if you are lucky. i would definitely recommend this little shop. read more

This is the best plant shop I've ever been to! The staff is so friendly and knowledgeable, and the plants are healthy and well cared for. They make buying even a little succulent a whole wonderful experience by potting it for you (even drilling a hole in the pot if needed), and setting it in a cute little box nestled in tissue paper. I mentioned I was buying it as a gift and they also gave me a mini card and envelope to match! read more
