Excellent plant and shrub selection and very helpful staff made the drive worth our time!

This is such a great place. Huge selection of plants that are not overpriced. Pretty big selection of pots and other yard decor also. Lines are usually long but they have workers writing out what you have and give you a slip for the register so it usually doesn't take that long. Everyone we have talked to is very nice and knowledgeable. Biggest drawback is if they are busy there is not much parking. read more

This isn't a pleasant shopping experience. There's very limited parking, limited shopping carts and the narrow gravel aisles are a pain. I will not be coming back. read more

While in Salem, OR, earlier this month I needed to purchase a gift card from this nursery. From where I was staying in West Salem, the drive was approximately 20 minutes outside Salem. While walking around the nursery I noticed their plant prices were reasonable. I bought a couple of things even though it's not planting season yet. The nursery has a good selection of plants, pots, yard decorations and also indoor garden themed decorations. I enjoyed walking around because there was so much to look at. The woman at the cashier was very nice. I would definitely come back to this nursery the next time I'm in Salem. read more

First off BOO - you can't bring your dog around the nursery. I've been to endless nurseries and never has my dog not been allow to walk around. I drove 30 minutes to come here. We spent about ten minutes because our dog had to stay in the car. My husband went and sat in the car with the dog to make sure she didn't get too hot. Knocking off a star for this inconvenience. Wow! This is by far the best nursery in Western Oregon. They have a huge variety of plants, shrubs and trees at unbelievably low prices. They carry Proven Winners and have lots of the newest plants. I just bought a brand new hydrangea variety in a 2 gallon container for $9.95!!!!I have seen the same plant (when I could find it) in local nurseries, box stores and online for $40. They also offer loads of organic vegetable starts. The nursery is family-owned and the Godfreys are very helpful and knowledgeable. I spent two very happy hours there and I can hardly wait to go back. read more

Year after year Godfreys has the best quality plants. We started shopping here six years ago. To my knowledge all the plants, scrubs, flowers, Rhodes we bought here are still strong and healthy. The big chains have plants which look great but are usually root bound and have been over treated for quick big blooms, Godfreys have strong root systems are healthy and bloom well because they are quality plants. On the cost side, Godfreys is one of the lowest priced nurseries around. Definitely worth the drive to shop here. read more

All season long, whenever I have a gardening need or when I am agitated, bored, or blue, I take that pretty drive in the country to Godfrey Nursery. The place is welcoming and full of exactly what I need and more. Godfrey Nursery was a place our realtor mentioned as her favorite place for plant material and accessories when we moved into town and, sure enough, after sampling most nurseries within 30 miles, it is ours as well. It seems to me from comments and reviews, everyone in the area knows this is the place to go for great prices for high quality plants but I don't know if they know about Godfrey Nursery's holiday offering "Christmas Open House", 10-4 daily from Nov 23 to Dec. I just spent part of my afternoon there. There were gorgeous decorated wreaths and beautiful, fat noble fir trees to take home and decorate. Redolent of pine, fresh seasonal arrangements filled a greenhouse where the only issue was choosing a favorite. Another greenhouse was loaded with the most luscious poinsettias I've ever seen at an incredible price. I'd spent many years in the Santa Barbara area where many nurseries specialize in poinsettias and Godfrey's plants outshone them. As a plant lover, I wanted one just to drool over during this bleaker season outside my front door. I also sipped hot apple cider that was offered with cookies as I shopped around the lovely selection of gifts selecting cool things for my sisters and even more cool things for myself. Guess I'll be taking my dear husband out on that pretty drive in the country. read more
