Let me start this by saying that I absolutely love the doctor here. He did wonderful work for me. I schedule my cleaning and exam every 6 months. I do this 6 months in advance. On multiple occasions, despite my early scheduling, they have called me and asked me to show up for the appointment earlier. I get the impression that the office wants to get off work early. I have tried to accommodate them and despite this, on a regular basis I will show up and they will tell me that the hygienist isn't there, and I have to come back for another appointment to get my cleaning. I have explained to them I own my own business and I have to schedule my clients around this appointment and I do so 6 months in advance. Despite this they have no problems asking me to reschedule or cancel my appointment of the last minute. Make most recently they canceled my appointment 3 HOURS BEFORE IT'S TIME. I reschedule it for 2 weeks later and explained to them my frustration, for the umpteenth time. The week of the appointment they called and asked me once again to come in earlier then my originally scheduled 12:30 appointment for which I had already received a confirmation text from them explaining that if I tried to cancel on THEM with less than 24 hours notice they would not hesitate to charge me $50. When she asked me to move my appointment she kept saying that my appointment was for 11:00 a.m.. I explained to her that I had a text message confirming it for 12:30 p.m. and she told me the hygienist will not be there and I would have to come in for a second appointment to get my teeth cleaned. I explained d at that this is always happening and despite my frustrations I was stonewalled and told I would have to make another appointment. I told them I would no longer be using their services and despite this I am still receiving text messages telling me I am overdue for the cleaning that THEY continuously cancel. Clearly this office is disorganized and downright inconsiderate. I wouldn't waste my time trying to get an appointment here because they probably won't keep it. It's very sad because as I said the dentist is wonderful. read more

I had my first appointment for a cleaning today. I love this practice already. I asked Myra for a hand scaling instead of the water cleaning tool. She was so gentle, thorough and nice to talk to. Usually I have some sensitivity at the gumline, and she made it completely comfortable with no pain. She is a new grad, which I consider an advantage because she has the freshest, most recent training - yet she has lots of experience in a dental practice. Avoid this dentist unless you have the more expensive full priced dental insurance. They are like a Castle Dentist. So, if you low insurance, they will scam you into the deep cleaning so they can get more money from you. At that point, they will be very rude. Now, if you have full priced dental insurance, you will be fine. However, it is better at that point to find a better dentist office. Very unprofessional and rude people. read more

This is the first time I've gone to a dentist where I had insurance instead of paying out of pocket. I needed a cleaning and exam. I have a chipped tooth that is starting to become sensitive that I've been told by my previous dentist might need attention at some point. First, for the x-rays, they only had the largest of those cards they put in your mouth, so I got the front of my upper pallet scraped to hell. Second, the dentist barely looked in my mouth. He wants to know if the sensitivity is the back molar, not the chipped tooth. The rest of it was pressure selling me a $1600 crown on a tooth that's not bothering me, but hey, insurance will cover $600 of that and they take Care Credit, yadda yadda. No word on what to do about the tooth that's actually bothering me. The admin even lays on the, 'let's make an appt NOW because you'll be mad at me if later you need a root canal' fear tactic. When I got home and sorted out that No, the sensitivity is definitely the chipped tooth and not the back molar, and that regardless of whether I needed a crown on that tooth, no one had offered any concern about what to do for the chipped tooth, I just felt like they figured they'd get my insurance for the crown, plus I'd be headed back for the complaint I could feel later, so bonus for them. I called and canceled the appt. Now I'm getting scripted voicemails trying to get me to reschedule. I'm done. I'll find someone else. read more

The Greenlawn Dental staff was fantastic throughout my experience, ensuring I had all my documents filled out, and working with my schedule to find the best day to come in. Dr. Heiman was very professional and thorough, even for a routine checkup. I felt confident in his care, and this is coming from a son of a dentist (sorry Dad! The plane ticket is more expensive for a cleaning), and brother of a periodontist. Delaney was very detailed in my cleaning and very personable. She made sure to distract me with light conversation, as we all know that dentist visits aren't considered in anyone's 'fun top 10 list'. Greenlawn Dental is the best!! I came across them when I first moved to Pflugerville nearly 5 years ago when I cracked a tooth and needed an emergency crown. They were extremely accommodating to get me right in for an appointment and the staff was so pleasant and professional that I knew they would be the dentist office to service all of our dental needs going forward. We have been making appointments ever since. Our young son (now 11) gets great attention and proper pediatric treatments and recommendations. He feels comfortable as the staff is very sensitive to making him feel at ease. Our oldest daughter had her wisdom teeth extracted and we all get our regular cleanings. I have since had 3 other crowns. Each one was thoughtfully considered based on need (tooth integrity), pricing is very fair, and Bobby (owner) diligently works with me on payments outside of what insurance does not cover. I have never felt any of our treatments or procedures were "upsells," as I have felt from other dentists attempting to promote in the past -- just the exact opposite. Dr. Heiman is outstanding in that regard. He genuinely cares about his patients and listens to concerns and counsels on dental health improvement, mostly on what the patient can do on their own and at low cost. I consider Dr. Heiman very professional, knowledgeable, and he has a very kind nature. I always enjoy seeing him on our visits. I highly recommend Greenlawn Dental, beyond 5 stars. Dr. Heiman really made my root canal seem painless. He is super gentle and explained everything to me prior to the procedure. The assistant Lilia made sure I was comfortable the whole time and walked me out when I was done. I received my prescriptions and went home feeling better. My crown came in a week later and I now have a brand new tooth :P I could not be happier that I chose a great Dr. and staff to care for my teeth! Dr. Heiman and his staff are very personable, professional and really make you feel welcomed in the office. The front office staff takes care of all insurance claims, including letting you know what your out-of-pocket expense is before treatment. I've been putting off a procedure for about a year and they never pressured me. In fact, they were kind enough to explain in detail what the long term effects would be if it didn't get taken care of. They gave me great advice on what "not to do" to aggravate the tooth. I never felt pressured and I appreciate them allowing me to schedule it on my own time. I LOVE this Dental office. Not having insurance for years the Dentist and staff made me feel very comfortable and very attentive to my needs. Dr. Heiman, his dental Assistant Lilia, and the Dental Hygienist Myra all have AMAZING table side manner and answer all questions you have regarding your dental needs and concerns. His office manager Bobby and Becky that works the front desk are AWESOME also. Another thing I love about this office is they are honest and won't try to just take your money/insurance money. I was originally supposed to have a root canal but when the Dr. Took a second x-ray and was able to really look at the tooth it was just a filling and crown so he saved me a lot of money. We won't get into the receptionist open mouth, loudly chewing gum and visiting on the phone with her friend - you know - the one who argued with me about my insurance coverage - 20 minutes later and no apologies from anyone. the worst part - I have NEVER left a dentist office in tears because I had my teeth cleaned and it hurt - not to mention the bleeding. Dr. Heiman is fantastic with me and my 3 year old. They squeezed me in when I was in tremendous pain, on a Friday. He resolved my issue with the least amount of invasive treatment as possible. The temp crown stayed on and fit perfectly until the permanent came in. The hygienist, receptionist, and all the staff are really nice, professional, and friendly. It's also in a great location. I recently went to this location to have a temporary put on my tooth while we wait for my permanent crown to come in. Normally I go to their Four Points Dental Studio Location on 620. But this staff was once again amazing!!! Not only are they kind and courteous, they are efficient and really care about their patients. If I feel any pain during a procedure or just need a break to breath they stop and make sure you are ok. They even ask if what you are feeling so that they can help if at all possible. For someone who is terrified of the dentist I can say that I'm never scared when I come here. During my last visit there was a man with his little boy and his little boy and this poor boy was NOT up for a day at the dentist. He was doing everything to try and get out of the front door. The dad of course was just softly speaking to him trying to reassure him, the front receptionist was a sweet hear and offered the boy stickers and things to keep him calm and distracted but as is often the case with small children he wasn't convinced. The Dentist (Dr. Heiman) spoke with the dad briefly and I happened to hear him refer the man to a dentist up the road who worked with children and also sedated for dentistry work as Dr. Heiman does not. Dr. Heiman also double checked ahead of time and let the man know that the other office would even accept their insurance. He was willing to go above and beyond to help this man get the care his son needed even if it wasn't in his office. He not only referred the man to someone else but he referred him to someone that was not with his practice or location. That is AWESOME. No pushy money hungry people here just kindness and experts. I had an issue with Greenlawn Dental six months ago concerning overcharging me for my cleaning. I came home, called my insurance to verify the proper amount I should have been charged and then went to speak with the Dentist about my concerns. He was very friendly and apologetic for the "misunderstanding". I decided to give them another chance since I really do enjoy the level of care I have received. BUT... I went in for a cleaning today and once again asked for a breakdown of my charges and was told that I was being charged for a procedure that I had not had. Hard to believe that after being called on this very problem six months ago that they are still doing it. I'm writing this to make patients aware of this practice. You should be very aware of what is actually being done while you are in the chair and then ask for a breakdown of charges. On my insurance the charges should be $12 for cleaning, $7 for sterilization and that is it. They charged for a probe $13 both times that was not done either visit. My father and brother are both dentists in another town and I want dentistry to be an honest and ethical profession as it should be. This is the reason for posting this review. Just beware. Know what you are paying for. read more
