Closed ‍ Don't know why they don't update this stuff... and considering this is out in the middle of nowhere, that can be pretty problematic if your family hasn't eaten and you have to do an about-face and drive another 20 minutes to find another place that's barely open for food. read more

What a lovely establishment! From the service, to the decor, the music, the mood, and the food. Everything was perfect about this place! It can be a little scary to drive after dark around here if you're not used to driving without street lights, but it is worth it. I got guacamole and a ribeye special ($26). The ribeye is new to the menu. The guacamole was just gucamole. It came with organic chips. The ribeye was really really amazing! The meat was super soft and had a charred flavor to it and came with two sides. I got rice and scallions. The scallions were a little oily, but really complimented the steak. I checked in on Yelp and got a offer for salad greens, but...basically, for anyone else who checks in, just don't ask for the offer. We got ice cream and churros on the house. There is refrigerated chicken, vegetables, and jam for sale up by the cash register. I would definitely want to come back for more ribeye! *Call ahead to make a reservation to get some good seats! read more

Wow, what a fun discovery - delicious, authentic Mexican food in the last place you would expect to find it. Wonderful service, great atmosphere, fantastic food. A gem! read more

Pretty disappointed in this restaurant. Saw a piece on them by vice from two years ago and was looking forward to trying it. There were only three people working the front of the restaurant who all appeared to be under 23 years old. They were all very nice and polite but were overworked and had no management so tables were left unattended and people kept waiting at the door. Salsa was watery and served in a plastic container. Chicken and mole tamales were dry and tasted like they had just been microwaved. Steak tacos had no flavor. Based on reviews I was reading at the table it sounds like this place took a nosedive in the past few months. read more

Really disappointing. This used to be a wonderful restaurant but it's decidedly different now. Some of the meal was actually served in takeout containers (weirdly on a plate), plastic cups, plastic containers for salsa verde & sour cream on a paper plate. Plates & water had to be special requested. Food was just so-so. Seems like no one really knows what they're doing :( Used to be BYOB but not anymore (& no forewarning when making reservation) so your only option is soda or sweet tea. Beware - what you see on the website is not what you get, not even close. Bummer. read more

After reading great reviews of Greenane arms we decided to eat there on our recent trip to Cooperstown. It was a disappointment ... plastic utensils, paper plates to share the food, shabby outdoor seating, and mediocre (at best) food. It is under new owners, and either they don't know what they are doing, or are cutting costs, etc., or both read more

Out of this world Mexican food. Everything was delicious. Service was ok, it felt like we were forgotten about at times, but the fresh delicious food made up for it. We had the special molcajete dish which was the best Mexican dish I have ever had. read more

We were so excited to try this restaurant that we drove several hours to get here, but unfortunately it did not live up to expectations. We ordered chips and salsa, tamales (chicken mole) and 'El volcan de res'; service had some missteps since we received the chips and salsa after the two other dishes (after reminding the servers twice). The chips were definitely not 'handmade' as claimed, and the salsa tasted like canned tomatoes. The tamales had a thick layer of dough, a small layer of bland, dry chicken, and the mole lacked heat, complexity, and depth. The volcan dish was also bland and somewhat cold, with overcooked rice and inconsistently cooked beef- and very overpriced. We were very disappointed! On the plus side, they have done a good job setting up safe outdoor dining. read more

A culinary gem in the northern Catskills! I'd heard great things about this place, and was glad I finally got to try it. The restaurant is in a converted barn, so the setting is very rustic--but still charming. The menu has something for everyone, including some great vegetarian options. We both got volcan entrees, I got it with beef and my partner with chicken. It came with grilled cactus, scallions, queso, chorizo, rice, and a to-die-for green salsa. Seriously. It has been three weeks and I am still dreaming of that green sauce. The ingredients were all incredibly fresh and tasty. We also had horchata and the lemonade, which were excellent. This was not only the best Mexican food I've had in New York, but also just generally the best food I've had in this area in a very long time. This is definitely a place I'd like to see stay in business. Cons: the service was a bit lackluster, and the food took a long time to prepare. This didn't bother me, though, because it's clearly being cooked fresh when you order. Overall: a charming spot with exceptional food. BYOB if that's your thing. read more

Yes yes yes. This was a pretty cool spot in the middle of nowhere. A little disjointed service wise due to the change to all outdoor service. Food was really good and drinks( non alcoholic) were delicious. Wish I had stopped for a few beers to bring with me,, but will remember next time. Had the "volcano" and it was good! Overall an enjoyable experience. read more

This restaurant is supremely delicious. Everything is so fresh. Outdoor dining is beautiful and very safe. Our favorite items are the ribeye steak, smashed potatoes, flavorful grilled vegetables, and churros. The owners are hard-working kind wonderful people. read more

Super delicious and lovely setting. Wonderful hosts as well.

I lived 12-years in AZ, 12-years in CA and this was absolutely the best Mexican meal I have ever had... fresh ingredients, home made... Highest recommendation! read more

Excellent authentic Mexican food! Friendly people. The renovated barn created a nice atmosphere for dinner. Loved the BYOB. Only wish we had heard about this place sooner. Can't wait to go back!! read more

We were lucky enough to stumble upon this place while in town for baseball. The name didn't quite sound like a Mexican place so I was skeptical but we were more than happy with the quality of the food. They have a great story if you get the chance to speak to the owner. The food was some of the best, authentic Mexican I've ever had. We loved everything except I will say not a lot to offer semi picky children and no liquor license. Bring your own and leave the kids at home :). Only sad I won't get to visit again. read more

We had a 4:30 reservation for dinner. We arrived on time and were seated by our server. We ordered our drinks which she soon brought to us and took our order. That was the last contact we had with her until almost an hour later. 3 minutes before our dinners came out she came to our table and apologized for the delay saying they had a takeout order for 15 people ahead of us. So what! Any decent restaurant should be able to handle that AND our order. BTW, the other tables that ordered appetizers were all being served so I'm guessing the microwave was working... When the food finally arrived my shrimp tacos were OK ($19 for 2 tacos and 1/4 cup of rice) but my wife's Volcan de Polo and my son's Sonoran Steak Burrito were very disappointing. Both dishes were pretty much devoid of any kind of seasoning or flavor. They both left most of their "food" on their plates and we didn't take anything home. At no time did our server or anyone else check on us or offer to make any concessions during our unacceptably long wait. Needless to say we will never be going back to this sorry excuse for a restaurant. read more

If you want to pay ridiculous sums of money for rotting food i suggest joining this csa. I was so excited for this! Organic local food. I signed up for their meat and their website says $19 For 2 or more lbs of meat. I didn't even get two lbs and i also got a share of fruit which consisted of two packages of strawberries and a small cantaloupe for $18. I got home from the pickup and opened the strawberries to find one package was moldy!!! I contacted them immediately and got no response. So i cancelled my account and now they are charging me for the second pickup which i did not pick up! Their website states that they will only debit your bank account once you pickup your food! Place is a scam! Buyer beware!!! read more

Well, it smells amazing and the place was packed but the group was looking for margaritas. No liquor license so be sure to byob.

Delicious and authentic Mexican cuisine made with local ingredients! I mean, it's in the middle of little tiny Meridale! How did we get so blessed!? There are some hiccups in regards to service, but as Giorgio stated: "the fresh delicious food made up for it." Greenane doesn't have a liquor license, so if you want an alcoholic beverage, you'll want to bring something. If you forget, you can run down to Dutch's Deli on the corner to buy some craft beer. He's got a decent selection (don't be afraid of the dogs, they're loves). Also, the hours are limited and it's apparently busy always, so it's recommended that you make a reservation. NOTE: Tips are paid in cash only, but the meal can be paid with credit card. There's an ATM at Dutch's that you can use when you're picking up your beer. ;) read more
