The restaurant is in a converted barn, so the setting is very rustic--but still charming.

What an amazing Saturday find for us tourists! As we left our vacation in Lake George, we headed to…read morethe Farmers' Market for coffee and breakfast. The market did not disappoint! It was the last day of the season for the market to be outside (October) and we found delightful jellies, breakfast sandwiches/burritos, fresh milk (drank and returned the glass bottle on site), boutique cheeses, and freshly made crepes (savory and sweet available). $2 locally-roasted coffee? Yes, please! While we didn't buy any groceries, there were plenty of local farm fresh vegetables, eggs, and meats available, in addition to whole and ground coffee beans, breads, and other goods. So glad we made our way here!

While visiting the Glen Falls area we took one morning to stop by the local farmers market. As for the outdoor portion, there was a wide array of vendors and the prices were very reasonable. The non-farmer vendors offered great products like soaps, oils, baked goods and cooked to order crepes, which were delicious. If we lived in the area, we would likely be there every week. *Our visit was during COVID19, the Farmers Market offered and supported good protocols as did each vendor.

If you live in Woodstock or happen to be there on a Wednesday between June and the end of October,…read moredo yourself a favor and take a stroll through the Woodstock Farm Festival between 3:30 and dusk. Actually, if you live here you are probably cursing me right now in hippie speak because you have been coming here for 20 years.* Actually, if you live here, you probably aren't looking up your favorite farmer's market on Yelp so I'll just have at it. In 12-15 vendors or so you will find everything that you need to eat healthy and well. From meat to vegetables to fruit to other more savory items (pie, honey), you can easily do your shopping for the week sans beverages. It's an extremely friendly and community oriented atmosphere, accepting of anyone who wants to partake in the festivities. As a side to the market on Maple St., there is a flea market area where there are also food vendors, tents and picnic tables to enjoy your food and some live music. If you are lucky, you will even get to witness some dancing that has probably been going on here since the actual Woodstock. Get a couple tacos from Black Eyed Suzies and do yourself a big favor and get some pretzel bread from that nice lady with the pretzel stand. If you really want to treat yourself, get a chocolate filled pretzel croissant. Actually, get three and send me one...or all three. With Woodstock not full of too much to do at night, this market that spills over into the evening is the perfect opportunity to eat, shop, mingle with the locals and enjoy the cross section of Woodstock that makes it such a relaxing and inviting place to spend some time. _____________ *Sorry.

Migliorelli Farm Stand - Spoonfuls: (This Is More Like Ground Lobster Meat Or Something. Oddly Tasty Though. I'd Add Lobster Chunks To Give It Substance)

Migliorelli is a humble little roadside farm stand on Route 28 in Phoenicia selling a range of…read moreseasonal fruit, veg, pumpkins in the Fall, jams, a small fridge stocked with an assortment of locally-sourced cheeses, milk, etc. And as the oldest (that I know of) side-of-the-road farm stand in the Catskills, Migliorelli has been our favorite when hubs and I began staying in the Catskills since '01. Presently, while hubs and I have been spending more time in Woodstock on the weekends since the late part of June, we see the need to support the local bounty that surrounds us and the best way to eat from farm to fork. If this isn't enough, these folks also carry a small collection of home products made by independent makers. Migliorelli is all about veggies and fruits- so the cheeses, milk, yogurt and pastries you see when you come here, are sourced from partnering dairy farms. In spite of that, I still picked up Gruyère, Parmesan, other cheeses and milk. Fish and other seafood are sold on weekends. I've heard and read two different stories about how they source their seafood. Is it locally caught? Not sure. Actually, don't think so. I'm not completely bothered by it. The young ladies here are helpful and if you have any questions about something, speak up. Prices reflect the Catskills- but you won't break your wallet. When I come here, I know I can stock up my pantry and fridge with ease and freshness.

The exterior is misleading & easy to pass by if you're not in the know - don't let it fool you! Breakfast is only served on weekends between 8 AM & 1 PM & we just happened to be there. Service was extra warm & welcoming - we had our pup with us & it was a not so great weekend weather wise & while we offered to order & sit outside at a table as to not disrupt other diners, they managed to put us in their back room so no one had to eat out in the cold (Pepper can't write her own review, but she says thank you, two paws up!) While the menu is small, one item is better than the next & you can't go wrong no matter what you choose! Prices are reasonable for everything you get & in today's economy, it's a rare find! The apple pancakes were to die for & honestly, the biggest pancakes I've ever seen! Fresh biscuits with maple butter (YUM!) Don't pass up on the extra creamy & delicious chocolate milk! Seriously - can I get an IV drip of that? This place is the embodiment of farm to table (obviously). Zero frills, but full authenticity of a working farm. Wonderful place & wonderful people. They have lots of their goods for sale too, so you can take Buck Hill Farm home with you! We bought their delicious bourbon maple syrup, fresh herbal tea, hot sauce, & took some ribs back to the house to grill for Father's Day! Plenty of full & happy bellies even after leaving the farm. After breakfast, swing by the chicken coop & thank the ladies for the delicious eggs! LOL We hope to visit again next time we are in the area!
