One of my all time favorite things to do on a Saturday! There is so much and you can usually get a good amount of your grocery shopping done! Love being able to try new things, and see such a blend of culture in one spot. I just love the Regional Market in Syracuse! There is such a variety of things to look at and buy. No matter what season it is amazing. Yesterday was full of beautiful fall flowers, mostly mums, but several people has succulents which are great all year round. Homemade Bread, rolls, bagels, cookies, cakes,pies.... pretty much anything you could want. Homemade honey, pickles and kimchi. Farms selling lamb, beef and chicken. Homemade cheese and pasta and jams. The vegetables from local farms...some organic. I much prefer buying from the local farmers and not when people are selling out of grocery store bulk purchased boxes. read more

Love this place! They're open 7am - 2pm on Thursday (May - Oct), Saturday (year round), and Sunday (year round) with Saturdays being their big market days and Sunday being their flea market days. All of the vendors I've encountered have been very friendly and willing to answer questions. I love being able to browse, connect with, and buy from local businesses and try a variety of new (to me) products made/ grown in the area! With over 400 vendors, you can find just about anything and everything you're looking for and more here! There are lots of parking spots available but if you want one close to the sheds, try to come early in the morning - especially on Saturday (their busiest day). read more

Probably the largest farmer's market I've ever seen. We have been trying to visit for awhile and were usually too late. We made sure to come earlier this time. This market spanned several buildings and had tons of fruits, vegetables, meat, baked goods, breads, plants, flowers and many other things. People were very friendly and prices seemed pretty reasonable. I would love to come on a day that isn't pouring rain in the high summer or fall for a larger assortment of produce. read more

What's not to love? Fresh fruit, fresh vegetables, and fresh baked goods! On my most recent trip today I was in search of honey. I found my favorite vendor and got an extra order as I was informed this was his last day. :-( During my search up and down the isles, I came across some awesome corn on the cob that was picked today. Out of this world! Perhaps the most exciting stand was that of my old favorite bake shop, scratch bake. The baker Corey, who once donned this wonderful establishment is back and making all kinds of unbelievably good artesian breads, cookies, and croissants. The almond croissants are just like I remember them, flaky, topped with pecans, and a buttery filling. Outstanding! Today's special donuts were a cider and a cider one cream filled. I got the cream filled one. Can't remember what's inside, but it was so fantastic tasting I didn't get a chance to ask. Welcome back!. read more

This was recommended as one of the best things to do in Syracuse, on a Saturday and Sunday. Arrived a bit toward the end of the market closing at 2 pm. Did manage to purchase a white and pink geranium, radishes for $ 1, fried dough for $ 4, decent selection of different vendors, clothes, flowers, coffee place, spices to name of few. Large layout and year round market for vendors. I was there on an off time, I'm sure once the season is in full bloom for the summer will be busy, and more farmers, etc there. Everyone in the area talks about the Ithaca market. That pales in comparison to this one. Lots of variety and quality here. Reasonable prices on flowers. Most folks are friendly and will go out of their way for you. Can be cold in the winter but worth it. read more

Craft items, ( Note: see The Ruff road pet accessories- Jennifer -last row) Fruits , specialty items, vegetables, clothing, brickerbrack, plants, food both raw and cooked. ( see pix). Apples that I bought , to my surprise, were not that sweet. Wheat grass for the cat at one place and fresh Catnip at another,, fresh maxed donut's, dogs ( frankfurters) on wheels, even a picture wood cut out for a photo op. Today it was , come I. It seemed packed with people though I came around 1pm and it close at 2pm. The vendors was preparing to leave though, so I suggest to come a little earlier than I did. read more

Starting at the Onondaga Lake Visitor's Center by the pedestrian bridge where you can spot up 30 eagles at a time in the wild, I hiked through the trail, walked through Destiny and then to the CNY Regional Market. My reward: an unbelievably soft, warm freshly made donut with a coffee at said market. So good that I needed 1 more! A very enjoyable hike with the sun lighting my way home! I've always enjoyed going to the farmers market whenever I visited, however, people who read my review, do your research on the vendors. I went a few weeks ago and came across a professional enough looking vendor of candles, body mists, beauty products, etc. The owner was very kind and sweet and labeled her products all natural. She also gave her business card and storefront location. I ended up buying a body mist! I was so excited about it until I realized there was not an ingredient list to know exactly what's in it and if this woman had any education about beauty products. I decided to google her. I found her name through the Liverpool chamber of commerce under the business name. I then went to google her name to see if she's an esthetician. All Google brought up was that she's currently being investigated for multiple felonies including embezzling $400k from her prior workplace. It reminded me that she preferred cash at the farmers market as she said she "didn't" have to report it all. Be cautious who you buy from. read more

One of the best Saturday things to do in Syracuse! Not only does this place have cheap, delicious and fresh produce, you can buy just about anything here. There are vendors that sell house supplies, clothing, furniture, home decor, pet items, pastries, bread and more. Everything is reasonably priced and is a great way to support local business in CNY. Parking is free as well and everything is very walkable and accessible. There are also some food vendors, such as Thai food, breakfast sandwiches and donuts. It's a great way to start the morning before shopping around. My favorite vendor sells amazing pita chips and Mediterranean food. read more

I've been to a lot of Farmer's Markets but this one was by far the best! Literally hundreds of vendors selling everything from fresh fruits and vegetables to baked goods, fresh eggs, honey products, etc. etc. Often the price of produce at Farmer's Markets is higher due the produce being 'fresh'. Not only were the prices lower than what one would pay in a grocery store, but the produce was both fresh and frankly, very large and of top quality. If we lived here we would be frequenting this place on a weekly basis!! Parking wasn't too bad (it's free) and all of the sellers were very friendly. Truth be told, the Ithaca Farmers Market will always hold a special spot in my heart that makes for some tough competition. This market is much less picturesque than that one, but on the flip side, it offers a much wider selection. The CNY Regional Market has a flea market feel, which is fine, as I spent many a childhood weekend traipsing around my hometown flea market with my grandparents, and thus have many fond memories. There are lots of free samples, and the vendors are more than happy to explain the nuances of their products. You can score some cheap, fresh produce and some delicious artisan prepared foods (the winning find in my last trip was cheddar bread.) My only advice is that it gets pretty busy (even in the winter) so consider coming early or brave yourself to face the crowds. read more

What can I say, my weekend in Syracuse was truly awesome with this market as another piece of the excellent list of things I did. This market was massive, way bigger than any I've ever been to before and they sold everything ever in tons of individual stalls. I love that all of the people here are local businesses selling their home made or grown goods and there is such variety I think you'd be hard pressed not to find something you didn't love. Some highlights were the beautiful flowers and honey sticks I tried at various places and all the yummy looking cookies and pastries throughout the market. This is a super busy place, but there is a lot of parking on the property so with some patience you'll find a place. This is a neat place to explore and I recommend you bring a basket or trolley with you because you'll likely leave with more than you expected! read more

One of the few places I've been that I'd actually give 6 stars if I could! Farm goods/produce on Thursday and Saturday mornings. Get there early to get a good parking spot so you don't have to haul all your "finds" too far. Bring lots of cash. I swear they seem to have at least a little of everything here. Unbelievable produce sold by soooo many local farmers. Talk about farm to table. There's no way that the best chefs of Syracuse and beyond aren't shopping here for their restaurants, no way. Most sellers are selling by the bunch here instead of by the pound, and I just absolutely love that. You can really get some great bargains here. Organic eggs, baked goods, treats, fruits/veggies, distilled liquors, homemade soaps, fresh roasted coffee, homemade pastas, fish/seafood, the list just goes on and on. I've been to lots of farmer's markets over the years and this one just shocked me for being so comprehensive in such a small city. It can get crowded by 9 or 9:30 a.m. and I'd budget a sold hour to see everything if I were you. Lots of free samples given out and they even have places you can buy breakfast sandwiches, donuts, fried dough, or pizza. Not a great place for kids or strollers, so leave them at home please. Seriously, respect the adults here...it's not a kids kinda hang out. Friday's they have a flea market set up here and all three days, Thur-Sat they close at 2 pm. As newbies to the Syracuse area, we were thrilled to find this farmers market! It's MASSIVE! And there is so much to see! Fresh produce, honey, dairy, fish, meat, flowers, mushrooms, dog treats, coffee, and TONS more local fare. It's also mixed with a flea market where you can find lots of interesting items, but we're there mostly for the food. :) All of the vendors we've spoken to, so far, have been super friendly and most are willing to give you a sample if you're unfamiliar with their product. One of our favorite vendors is Tug Hill Artisan Roasters coffee. Definitely try it! So good! read more

If only old people shopped here it'd be the "Senile Regional Market." Oh wait, that's about right. I've been to the Central New York Regional Market a couple of times, most recently about 3 weeks ago as the second stop on my Syracuse food tour. What a fantastic place! It is definitely an amazing experience to CNY, but also don't forget to Hear NY, Smell NY, and most importantly, Taste NY. CNY Market has loads of great produce and other goodies at bargain basement prices. It has a bunch of very friendly sellers (and some of them are cute). It has a ton of food stalls (about 10 of them), few of them are on Yelp yet, but as you can see I took pix of some, and will be putting those I tried on Yelp in the near future. One or two of the sellers had a serious attitude problem, but that can happen at any market. And if you want to be with me, Yelpers, there's a price to pay. I'm a CNY in a bottle. You've got to rub me the right way. Oooh, yes. Just like that. All in all, it's a great place. My favourite thing was the Fried Dough shack, which was utterly delicious. But everything was great, really. Lots of parking, lots of great stalls, a huge selection, and it's nice and spacious. Easily a 5-star rating. Whoa, what's wrong with you? You look like you've cyna ghost. It's not a touristy market at all, though. It's very much for locals and farmers, it's as authentic as they come. This market has a plethora of items to buy such as handmade soaps, veggies, bread, cookies, flowers, honey, wine, jerky, fish, maple syrup, milk, cheeses, herbs, breads, etc. If you can't find anything you like here, you haven't walked around enough or you have some serious issues. Personally, I bought some buckwheat honey, Asiago bread, macadamia nut cookies, cannoli, maple sugar candies, dark chocolate orange biscotti, garlic and green peppers. Score. Sue has a stall with amazing biscotti for only a buck! The biscotti is the size of a ruler, I kid you not. Good quality ingredients. I also met a lady with different varieties of honey. She had mint, fall flower, summer flower, wildflower, buckwheat and orange blossom. She also had large cut honeycomb. It was a surprise to see so many interesting variations of just honey. If you prefer to shop local farmer only, there were several Amish families and local farms represented. I was told you can distinguish local farmers by their vehicles and boxes. I also found vegetables I had never seen before. There were cabbage the circumference of my head. Crazy. This market puts my puny local market to shame. I wished I lived a lot closer. Arrive early for ease in navigating the aisles with fewer customers. I would also recommend a rolling grocery cart. read more

Love this year round farmer's market! It's humongous contained inside a warehouse and garage in the winter. The prices are incredible. You can find a package of mushrooms for $1, 10 pounds of tomatoes (in season) for $5, 20 pound bags of potatoes for $5, along with higher priced specialty items. Locally cured beef jerky, distilled goodness from Rochester, meals that are prepared ahead of time. I enjoyed taking a stroll through here and unlike many farmer's markets, the prices are extremely competitive and you're bound to find good deals on produce. read more

Tips: Bring cash for most vendors! -------------------------------------------------------------------- This is probably one of the best Saturday morning activities that you can do here at Syracuse. This market has so many different vendors selling different products. You can get anything from clothes, to honey, to woodwork, to oils, to plants, etc. There's so many different vendors to choose from that you're bound to find your groceries for the price that you want. I've gotten a bunch of bananas for $1 and bell peppers for 50 cents each and even a head of cauliflower for $1! Even if you're not in the mood to go grocery shopping it's still a great weekend activity to do with your friends or family. read more

The regional market is one of my favorite places in Syracuse! It is open year-round on Saturdays, but I find I visit most during summer and fall when the produce is really popping. It's a great place for Saturday morning/afternoon jaunt. The sheer amount and variety of colorful, fresh local produce is dazzling to the senses and makes me want to buy a whole flat of summer tomatoes/peaches/whatever is in season whenever I go. In addition to the great fresh produce, many vendors also sell potted plants for vegetables, herbs, and flowers to make your own garden prolific. The flowers and hanging baskets are tempting, but I usually go for the herbs and vegetables because they are often sold cheaper than at Home Depot, especially as the season continues. Food stands are also aplenty, with local butter, honey, meats and freshly baked goods as just a small sampling of what they have to offer. Much of the market is indoors, which is ideal considering Syracuse's unreliable weather. On Saturdays it is a farmer's market; on Sundays, it turns into a flea market. It's open from 7 AM to 2 PM on both days (and they have a Thursday farmer's market too, during warmer months, although I have never been). Parking even on a busy day can usually be found quite close the market - one of the perks of living in a smaller city. One thing that I think would improve the market would be to have a more dedicated area for eating - maybe a pavilion of some sort. Also, it doesn't have very picturesque surroundings - lots of industrial looking buildings. Still, it's a bright spot in Syracuse and a great Saturday outing that I enjoy each time I go! read more

I am surprised it took me over a year and a half of living in Syracuse to come here! I had no idea this was a huge market that took place every weekend. It's right across from the mall. There are several "sheds" that sell various things. Shed A has lots of vegetables, some Christmas decor (this time of year), and fruits. The meat/produce shed has lots of packaged items that are discounted and expired. The meats section is a giant fridge with packaged/cured meats. They sell yogurts, teas, and international foods (teas, Indian chutney, Asian spice mixes, etc.) Shed C, and so forth sell various things that include jumbo eggs, goat yogurt, Amish pastries, coffee, alcohol, soap, dog treats, picture frames, more vegetables/fruits, handmade wood decoration for Christmas, and much more. I bought a giant bag of chopped kale for $1, a dog treat (hot dog shaped raw hide) for $1, dried onion powder that expired in March for $1 and BBQ sauces. I was about to buy romaine lettuce until my friend reminded me about the California lettuce recall due to e.coli. The teenager worker at the stand told me the lettuce came from Arizona, not California and that it was grown after the recall. I looked at the bag and it said California on it. I stuck with kale. This place is super fun to peruse. I've been to other similar markets in different cities but this one was ginormous. There is plenty of free parking. I brought cash so I do not know if vendors take card or not. They provide you with grocery bags. read more

Being a big fan of clean eating and supporting local farmers this place is amazing. I try to come every Saturday if possible. I also frequent the Downtown Farmers market on Tuesdays but that one closes for the season on the Tuesday after Columbus Day. This one is also open on Thursdays from May to November. Today's visit was so enjoyable, amazing fall fruits and vegetables. The squash, Brussel sprouts, carrots, and kale were amazing and will make great meals during the week. There also several vendors with locally prepared foods, such as hummus, pesto, honey, maple syrup, and local wineries. You can pretty much do all your shopping here. Not really sure why anyone would buy produce at the grocery store since we have this great farmers market and the prices can't be beat. There's also a great Thai takeout place there, Lao Village, great summer rolls and amazing spicy chicken basil. Check it out, there is something at the market for everybody! read more

Love coming here year round. I have been coming here for a long time, but usually randomly here and there. This is definitely the best farmers market in the entire region. You will find tons of fresh produce, meats, and baked goods. I love going to the station where the Amish bring in their home baked goods. While they have a very small shelf life, they taste amazing. I don't mind the shelf life either, it pretty much confirms they don't have any additives and are home made. The prices can be amazing, but sometimes they are not. It truly is a market. You need to be careful to not buy everything you need from the first veggie or fruit vendor. The reason for that is simple, prices are not all the same. You may find one vendor is selling their red peppers for 1 buck each, but on the flip side another vender deeper in will sell theirs for 2 for a 1$. That goes for everything there. So remember to have fun and be patient with your purchases. read more

The best farmers market I have been to. They have everything you could imagine. They do have some stands that buy from grocery stores and sell at the market so ignore those vendors to get fresh produce. It is also very cheap, a thing of asparagus for $1, zucchini 3 for $1. The market on Sundays is 95% flea market so be prepared. We found about 10 vinyl records for our son's dorm room (for decoration) and spent about $15 total. He'll be happy to have a little less blank wall and we're happy it didn't empty our wallets. One stall had tons of old fashioned/antique tools. They were really fun to look at until we came upon some old wooden folding rulers we both remembered using in elementary school. After that, we felt like dinosaurs at age 43. Lots of stalls had nothing but crap but it's worth going for the thrill of the hunt. I found one stall with 10 boxes of really old and unique Christmas ornaments that were $5 a box and he let me swap out the ornaments I didn't want for ones I did. I walked away with a box of beautiful ornaments for $5 and a huge smile on my face. Parking on Sunday wasn't bad at all but we didn't get there until 10:30am. read more

The CNY regional market is a Farmers Market and Flea Market located in Syracuse NY, close to the Carousel Mall. Great set up with a large parking lot and several buildings filled inside and out with vendors. The Market offers a nice selection of food, produce, products, baked goods, meat, seafood and plant vendors. We purchased a pretty Hydrangea tree, fresh sweet corn, macaroons, cheese curds, chocolate chip cookies, horseradish jelly and a bagel for breakfast. Each of the vendors was friendly and enjoyed talking about their offerings. There was a great selection to choose from Obviously, a very popular place on Saturdays for the Farmers Market. We saw lots of families shopping around for breakfast and weekly produce needs. Our local family is here regularly, for their gardening plants, produce, local cheeses...you name it. I think the fact that we have a reliable, year round farmers market is pretty five star worthy. As with anything, anywhere, the more we support it, the better it becomes. I like the variety of local vendors but be mindful of those that are selling massive produce shipments from California and Washington. I find their prices not as competitive and if I'm buying produce, I'm looking for greens that haven't traveled 3,000 miles. Some brands I've been introduced to at the market are also available at retailers like Green Planet, which is nice in a pinch. Local vendors often have samples, and it's a delight to chat and learn about their business, as well as where else they have product available. Saturday mornings are devoted to farmers, and Sunday is the flea market version. Personally, I've not gone on a Sunday. Summer time brings Thursday farmers market, and as with Saturday's, get there as earlier as you can. Less crowded and best selection prior to 8am. My least favorite time to shop the market is after 10am when it becomes elbow to elbow and it's just unpleasant navigating. Places to hit for eats on the spot: Lao Village has awesome spring rolls! This is the same thing labeled as the "Regional Market Commons". Great market. Thursday(seasonal) and Saturdays are the farmers market. Sunday's are the flea market. Below is the review quoted for the Regional Market Commons (same thing) A lot of selections vendors here and a lot of them have the same items (however at different prices). The first few times you go, I would suggest bringing a list of what you want to buy and seeing how much it costs at different vendors. After 3-4 trips here, I know like which places are good for what. If you don't have cash, there is a market common area at the first building that lets you buy tokens using credit card which can be used at pretty much all the vendors. One other neat thing is that there are a few vendors here that are clearly buying up the leftover fruit and vegetables from other groceries. They sell them at significantly reduced prices, so if you don't mind getting something that isn't fresh, you can save a lot of money. This personally isn't my cup of tea, but I've noticed the significant dip in prices for some items. Be cautious though because some of these items will rot within a day or so if left out (some may last longer). I come here for a few things every week - fresh fruits&veggies (which is the same price pretty much throughout, but you have to be careful about what you buy because some of the stuff isn't fresh or isn't ripe. Learn to pick up the good stuffs) - Bread (there's a bread vendor on the outside of the last building... my favorite) - Jam. Only 1 or 2 jam vendors. It is very good jam. Expensive but lasts a while. I would buy or recommend to friends. Try the strawberry peach or blueberry peach jams. They are delicious read more

How does the CNY Regional Market not exist on Yelp? This place is one of the best parts of summer in Syracuse, though it is open year round. I only actually come in the summer time because that's when you can get the fresh, local produce from CNY. They also have local meats, cheeses, honey, crafts.... the list goes on. The last time I was there I stood at the fresh seafood stand for a while debating whether to get some fresh fish or crabs. Everything is still alive when you buy it. Doesn't get fresher than that. Get there early on a Saturday or else you'll be competing with lots of people. It's not as big or crowded as the markets in larger cities, but it draws a fair number of people. You can even buy pastries and coffee here so don't worry about eating before you come. Just hop in the car and go. This place is great and it's a wonderful resource to have in Syracuse.
