Walmart is like a magnet it will draw in customers from the worst to the best. I suggest that if you are concerned about that simply go to walmart.com and actually purchase the items online, after comparing the item with its competitors, also online, and then the store employees will put it in your cart as a completed purchase. Don't be hesitant about asking an employee for assistance or even going to Customer Service for assistance. The perennial scam in all Big Box stores is excessive returns and misuse of the self-payment registers. Be assured that all stores have the same security methods and they are quite good at catching the bad people. If you just want to walk around and shop another suggestion is to call the store and ask them if they have a specific item, and to actually hold it for you. There is an excellent free Walmart app for your smart phone to make shopping much easier by actually locating the item and current price. Walmart still has a policy of meeting the cost of all other "local" competitors with the actual flyer listing prices. The pizza and Italian-type foods are the mainstay of many college people. Good Luck!

I'm extremely disappointed with my experience at Masonville General Store…read more I have a disability and a handicapped plate, and because of my bad leg, instead of parking parallel on the other side of the road, I turned around parked parallel in front of the store. The steps were old steps and very steep so I had to be careful coming up them. While shopping, I was told I needed to move my car. I explained my mobility issues, the steps were tough for me, and that I wouldn't be long (no one else was in the store, nor stopped) but no grace and was told again to reposition it immediately. There was ample room behind me for another car. After moving my car, I came back in and politely suggested they mark parking spots so people know where to park to their satisfaction. The woman working was extremely rude, telling me that she expects people to have common sense". There was absolutely no reason to speak to a customer this way--especially one trying to shop local and support their business. I had items in my hand ready to buy, but after how I was treated, I left without making a purchase. To add to the frustration, she rudely told me they so don't accept credit cards, no sign that I saw to alert a customer before they come in the store. She did not offer options (e.g. check). I will never return to Masonville General Store. I was disgusted by the attitude toward a paying customer, especially one with a disability.

Everything is well priced, nothing excessively priced. I was very excited to find this store. They have bulk dry ingredients, one of them being organic barley which I cannot buy at the corporate grocery in my town. They do have an extensive supplement section. Healthier choices for snack foods, some toiletries, and an incredibly large section of chocolates at the register. The owners are super friendly and greet everybody as they enter. Since my first shopping experience, I've been back several times even though it is about a 30 minute drive for me one way. I highly recommend this small business, especially if you were looking for organic and all natural foods.

The family who runs the store is so nice; just the shopping experience and friendly small talk make Cooperstown Natural Foods worth visiting. Beyond being friendly, they were willing to stock my favorite soymilk when I asked about it -- something other small stores have been hesitant to do. The store has everything from local salad greens to imported chocolates. The prices are the same as the big-box store down the street, making supporting this local business a no-brainer.
