The only thing that could make this place better is a basket of kittens post massage. The therapists here are incredible. They have a deep understanding of their craft and deeply care about fixing their patients. If you're looking to fix your body, this is the place for you. read more

Got a deal from groupon for a 60min massage. It was great defiantly worth it. The front desk girl was nice and the masseuse was amazing. I came there right after the gym so my muscles were sore she made me feel like a 1000 bucks. Highly recommended. read more

Milan was by far the best masseuse I've ever had. You can tell he's very skilled and knows what he's doing. I've never had a male masseuse and now that I have, I don't think I can go back. Really really fantastic. read more

This place is amazing! such a peaceful relaxing atmosphere and the best massage I've ever had in my life. Noriko is wonderful. I love the Dumbo neighborhood, so it's always a great excuse to go there, get a massage and relax in the park. read more

I stopped by on occasion for a few years, there were fantastic people working here, who seem to have left. My experience before last was mediocre, and last one was just bad. Sorry to say won't be going back. read more

We booked two 60 minute massages. We were disappointed to realize they had booked back-to-back appointments and our massages were cut off early (one at 50 minutes and the other just under 50 minutes). They miscalculated and overcharged us anyway by $12 despite our request to prorate the time correctly. The massage tables were also rock hard and my head/chest felt lower than my feet which was an awkward angle that we were not able to adjust successfully. read more

When groupon had the deal for this place there were no reviews anywhere but I needed a massage so I took a risk. Yes, it is a bit difficult to find, and it's really tiny in a basement with a gym, but you don't really notice once you get inside. And it was one of the best massages I ever had (John was the masseuse). Sometimes when I get these deals I feel like they do subpar work but that wasn't the case here, and I got the full hour. I will definitely go back. read more

Frank at green stone is a miracle worker! He applies the perfect amount of pressure and is always friendly and professional. I've also used their aesthetician, Esin, who I highly recommend. Overall gem! read more

it I could give no star at all, I would. I went because I saw their promotion on the street 60min of message for $75. What can I say, you get what you pay for. It was a total waste of my time. The masseuse is very inexperienced. I asked her to concentrate on my upper and lower back, she didn't find too many of the pressure points on my back. the whole time, she was just rubbing and using her elbow and forearm to press really hard on my back. when her elbow bone was rubbing my shoulder blades and hip bones, it was excruciating. I asked her if she could use her fingers more, she promptly responded:" if I use fingers on everyone, I wouldn't have fingers left". sounds like she shouldn't have chosen message therapy as her profession. In short, the whole experience was torturous. don't be lured by the discount price! read more

I give Stephanie 5 stars! She knows where the aches and pains are and puts the right amount of pressure! The place itself is small and cozy. There's one room that is really too small to be a treatment room though. read more

Really lovely place. Clean and very relaxing. The massage was just what I needed and I have to say at a great price for the area. Nate was very communicative and took direction well. I would definitely recommend him. I'll be back! read more

Probably the best waxing service I've experienced in NYC. Stephanie is amazing- gentle, kind, personable. Price is totally worth it.

Absolutely some of the best massages of my life. I can't fathom anyone saying otherwise. My wife and I have gone about 3 times each, and even had one therapist come to our apartment. Every therapist is seasoned and understands the muscular groups, their connections and overall body alignment. This isn't a pampered experience with aroma therapy and high end decor; this is treatment for your chronic issues. All the therapists I've used are intuitive and knowledgable, and I always walk away feeling like a new man. read more

I wish I could give 0 stars. I was previously a big fan of the Wellness Lounge and had been to the Green Stone Spa as well before the acquisition of the former by the latter. However, my experience in redeeming a Living Social voucher that I had bought for the Wellness Lounge was absolutely unacceptable. I was able to redeem the first of my two vouchers (http://www.livingsocial.com/deals/23709-hour-long-massage) after the acquisition on 12/1/2011. However when I called to redeem the second voucher, the lady who answered my call said that Green Stone Spa had purchased the Wellness Lounge and wasn't accepting the deals sold under the Wellness Lounge. This, of course, was a lie as I'd redeemed the first massage post acquisition. After I told her this and caught her in her lie, she said that the Living Social deal was only 1 per person and that one additional one could be gifted. As can be seen in the link above, this was also a lie. When I caught her in her second lie, she then said that they had changed their policy so that they were only allowing people to redeem only one voucher. Thankfully Living Social was able to refund my purchase price back to me, but clearly this spa is dishonest and purposely deceitful. So prospective clients beware - the people who work there clearly make up policies on the fly and when caught in their lies, can't backtrack fast enough. As I said, I was previously a BIG fan of the Wellness Lounge and had decent service at the Green Stone Spa at its old basement location. However, after this completely unacceptably customer service, i'm taking my business elsewhere. Hasta la vista, Green Stone Spa. read more

Like others, I found Green Stone Spa through a groupon deal. I am giving them one star not because of their services, but because I was never able to get there to receive their services. They had so many groupons, so it was hard to find an appointment. We finally found a date, but then they called me a few days before the appointment and had to reschedule because one of the massage therapist was leaving. They were very apologetic. So, okay, stuff happens; I've flexible. We rescheduled (and, mind you, I am taking someone here for their birthday, so this is not just inconveniencing two people, but it's pretty embarrassing) and two days before I get a call and they have to RESCHEDULE AGAIN. I am promised that I will be given 15 extra minutes for the massage and again, they are very apologetic and promise that we will be able to get massages together. So, I arrive for my THIRD RESCHEDULED APPOINTMENT and they have us down for the wrong day and cannot accommodate us. They said that they would extend the groupon for a few 3 days after the expiration date--only 5 days later. We make a FOURTH appointment, only to be called back a few minutes later to be told that they cannot extend the groupon 3 days past the expiration date. Seriously? To say that this is not good business is an understatement. Totally unacceptable. I would never go to a place like this no matter how good the service. Like someone else said, I wish I could give them 0 stars. read more

The massage I had was fine nothing great about it but the real reason I'm on here leaving a review is that the women hurt me. She pushed real hard on my feet and when I flinched she said "STOP" like I was a child. Your clearly making me uncomfortable and to reprimand me was so not okay. I get massages all the time and have never had an experience like this. Will not ever recommend read more

Like many others I bought a Groupon. I'm not sure about all the complaints about accessibility - it was relatively easy to find and when I called I was able to book an appointment for the next day. The massage was good and even incorporated a little stretching, which was nice. also, I was 5 minutes late, and nobody gave me any crap about that, nor did they cut the service short, which was also nice. Things to improve - this is not a swanky place, so I don't think I'd pay their full price. the massage was a little too greasy and the table was a little cracked - they should really get that fixed. Also, they could have better AC. So that deducts a star. But, four stars for the price paid, attitude, and quality of the massage. read more

As a person in the medical field stress and madness builds up a lot, so I always decide to pamper myself and what better way than with Esin, my amazing Turkish guru. She's a magician with her amazing hands. Let me tell you she's super professional and knowledgeable on her area. read more

I just came from Green Stone Spa and the massage Michelle just gave me was beyond amazing! She really understood and payed attention to where my problem areas were and she made me feel extremely comfortable. I had a bad experience at first, due to scheduling issues with the front desk, however, Michelle was able to change my perception about this place. I will most definitely be coming back to see her at least once a month. She was fantastic! read more

Woke up today and decided I NEEDED a massage. I called 5 places with no availability and then finally scored at Green Stone. So happy I did! I had a really nice massage with Stephanie, the perfect balance between relaxation and pressure. More importantly, she listened to me and spent more time on the areas I asked her to spend more time on. The front desk staff was pleasant as can be. Prices are totally normal and reasonable. The spa was simple but extremely clean and comfortable. I would definitely go back! read more

As of December, Green Stone Spa has relocated and is still on Water Street; however, on the other side of the Manhattan bridge in Dumbo. The building is very close to the F and A/C subways. The space is still small, located on the ground floor level off a detached high-rise apartment building but the space is personal, clean and relaxing. I believe there are only 2 massage rooms available for use and a smaller room where they are looking to hire an aesthetician to do facials. I went to the new locale about 3 weeks ago and had the most amazing massage ever from Millon. Several reviewers have also commented on Millon's firm but appropriate touch. I workout with heavy weights and get sore in weird places, i.e. calves, Achilles, hips... but he was able to master all ailments and soreness! I love Green Stone and will continue to go back and treat myself to (hopefully) monthly Millon massages! I highly recommend Green Stone for a relaxing classic massage or deep tissue massage. I would much rather go to Green Stone to get one of the best massages ever than to a high end, 5th Ave, fluffy robe place. You definitely get what you pay for and more! read more

Michelle is the best massage therapist I've had in a long time! Very friendly and knows exactly how to stretch , rub and make all the soreness go away! Definitely will be coming back soon! Highly recommend Michelle :) read more

There are some very good masseuses working here... Stephanie, Marlene among them. Small, but clean and functional... close to DUMBO and the Heights. My wife and I have been here numerous times. But I must warn readers about some deceptive advertising in the area... sidewalk signs in the area offer a special for $75 for 60min on Mon-Fri 11am-3pm, but when I went in the other Friday at 12:30pm, I was charged the normal $95, as the receptionist said THAT offer was only for first time customers... however, that disclaimer is nowhere to be found on the ads. If you are in the area and want a quality massage for $95, this is a unsuspecting little place with good masseuses. But the booking/advertising/receptionist element is shaky (though probably not shady- I think they just aren't good at their job, so customer beware.) Get a price confirmation when you make your reservation, and double or triple check before its too late. read more

Soooo good!! Just got a massage from Marlene. She was able to get out all the kinks that have been in my back since 4 months ago. The people who work here are so nice. The space is clean and beautiful. I will be back for more! Thank you! read more

The therapist took great care of me! I'm not an expert on massages, but she really worked hard on me and it was definitely a good hour if not a little more. I bought an Amazon Local deal and it was well worth it. I'd definitely do it again! Thanks! read more

Friendly, nice atmosphere. Great medical massage/stretching by Song. A massage that I actually felt the benefits of immediately and the next day. read more

First time trying this spa for much needed work on my shoulders from carrying a backpack for my work. They were very professional and message therapist Enis did a great job. I was only upset at myself as I only got a half hour rather than hour but couldn't extend my time as they were booked. I am going to go back as I think they take most insurance. Definitely worth trying. read more

I have had many massages over the years and I decided to give myself a birthday treat of a 90 minute massage at Green Stone because they were right around the corner from my office. I didn't realize what I treat I was giving myself. Millan was great. Before we went into the room we spent several minutes going over past injuries and asking me what I was looking for from the massage. I asked for and got a deep but relaxing massage. I left the spa feeling like I had just been to a yoga class. I have returned 4 times since and every massage has been great. read more

I get dozens of massages every year and Green Stone Spa is easily the best massage I've had in years. It was soothing and therapeutic--I felt like I had just visited a chiropractor and a therapist at the same time. I highly recommend this spa, and Michelle in particular. It is a small place, and there is no dressing room, steam room, or pitchers of water with lemon slices, but it provides fabulous service. read more

I just had a remarkable massage by Marta. She was kind, calm, and very present during my hour-long massage. She really tended to the spots that needed her strong hands, and my whole body felt relaxed and revitalized. The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is that the decor and setting are standard -- it's not a fancy spa, but now that I know that they have great masseuses like Marta, I will definitely come back. read more

I bought a coupon for a "medical massage" from Amazon. I have rotator cuff and back issues, so I really looked forward to a person who had this medical massage expertise and knowledge. Well there was nothing medical about this massage. No one asked me about any problems I was having with my body. The person I got as a masseuse was a petite woman I doubted could give a good strong massage. And she couldn't unless she used her elbw most of the time. This is ridiculous. And to make things worse, she couldn't speak Engkish very well, so half the time she didn't understand me. When I was leaving, the receptionist tried to convince me to get my health insurance to pay for more massages. Whole thing felt like a scam. read more

Thanks for the response, Elaine. I'm sure I would have loved the massage. But, the thing is that customer service begins with that first phone call. You weren't willing to work with me to come in, how could I experience this awesome massage that would be sure to convert me to a loyal customer? Just something to think about. read more

I'm so happy we stumbled upon greenstone spa in Dumbo. My wife was having a hard time with her back and legs during pregnancy and started getting massages with Frank and Cristina to alleviate the pain. I honestly believe they helped her get through it successfully. Highly recommend Greenstone! Thanks for everything read more

Marlene at Greenstone has been a lifesaver during my pregnancy. I've gone regularly for prentatal massages, they have massage tables with holes for your belly/breasts that are super comfortable. I cannot express the relief Marlene's massages have given me, after a session I have no more siatica, joint pain, back pain and feel like a new person. The massages also help me sleep soundly, a real feat at 39 weeks pregnant! I've tried several other prenatal massage therapists and Marlene/Greenstone is by far the best. read more

First of all, the location was hard to find. The spa is actually located in the basement of the building. After coming out of elevator I was surprised to see how small the place actually was and how it looked. It didn't feel professional and fancy to me at first. However upon entering, the receptionist greeted us with a friendly smile and asked to fill out certain forms regarding medical issues etc. I was greeted and asked by my lady (Lola) to go in to this little room for my service (brazilian wax). The room was nicely decorated with a "bed" and it looks clean. She gave me time to get ready. She was explaining to me the wax that she was using (two different kind of waxes were used: soft and hard wax). The entire process was fast and she was very patient and gentle. I would definitely go back again! read more

I love this place! I've been a number of times to various therapists and they're all wonderful but today I had the pleasure of meeting Marlene. She is brilliant and really got into spots that I didn't even know needed work. Marlene is clearly passionate about massage and tailors her sessions to your individual needs - you can literally feel her extra effort. I've always received my full hour, always on time and Elena at the front desk is warm and so sweet. read more

I booked a prenatal massage based on a friend's review and the fact that they had a special table for pregnant bellies. However, I was very uncomfortable, and I had to keep moving during the first half of the massage. I felt like there were either too much pressure on my sphincter or my ribs and found it hard to breathe at times. Over time, my belly kept sinking deeper into the hole, so my lower back kept arching and I really felt like it was even more stressed post massage. I also filled out the form and told the masseuse that all the pain and stiffness I felt were in my lower body, yet half the time was still spent on my back with no explanation. No lotion was used until I told her that there was pain from the friction. The lights were kept on the entire time, and there are no towels (hot or cold) offered. I left with my skin feeling sticky and my feet feeling slippery from the lotion. I would not recommend for prenatal massage. read more

I purchased a groupon for a 60 mins massage for $40. Guess if you are paying that price, then there's no big complaint. You get what you pay for. First off, finding the "spa" was a problem. Its located in the basement of a building. But....theres no bell to the spa, so if you get there after a certain time, you jave to stand outside like a little kid who missed curfew and wait until someone comes out of the building to let you in. Why didnt i call you ask? I did, and it went straight to voicemail. WTH, why is there no one answering the phone? My massage was scheduled for 7 pm, however, it didn't begin until 7:25 and ended at 8:10. Ok, it was getting late, I understand so I didn't say anything about the 10 mins. Then when the massage initially began, the therapist received a text message and she stop the massage to look at it! How professional huh? After the massage started, it was just ok. The techniques she used was questionable. Makes you wonder if she is either new or wasn't licensed and didn't know what she was doing. Oh well, worth a try. Def not worth the full price if you actually had to pay $80, their standard rate. read more
