Of course holes were drilled into the walls as part of the process. But all the holes were secured back into place at the end of the job. They were one of 3 contractors I collected bids from. Shortly after that, I received an email response with a coupon for $50 off, and a phone number which I called to set up an appointment for the estimate inspection. Four days later, the owner of the company, Ed Clement, came out and went into my attic. Ed gave me a price to bring my attic up to the "Industry Standard" which is R-49. I asked him to email the estimate, which he did, and it was very reasonable. We set a date for him to do the work on April 25th. Ed knows what he's doing, and completed insulating our 1218 square foot house attic in under an hour. He added 16 inches of insulation. He took several pictures, which he texted me while he was still at our home. Besides, sweeping the little insulation scraps on my garage floor and on the driveway, he removed two pieces of wood that I had left in the attic a few years earlier while I installed a fan in our kitchen. I hired insulation matters to blow additional insulation into my attic. I was given a bid which…read morestated my current R value was R-19 and that it should be R-49. Initially after the completion of work it all looked ok except for the fact that the attic vents were missing that I was told would be installed. I called the owner Brett and he stated he would send out a team to install the vents. When the vents were installed a mess was made in my garage, which is where the attic access is, and it was not cleaned up. Also, the insulation that they had recently blown in was trampled down where they had walked to "install" the vents and nothing was done initially to correct it. It took another phone call to speak with, Brett, who stated he would come out to fix the issue and clean up. Brett was no where to be found just the same guys who were there the first two times. They blew more insulation in and cleaned up the garage. Everything looked decent from the attic opening. I didn't want to get any closer to check as I didn't want to trample what they had just blown in. Flash forward to Jan. 2020. I had to access the attic to install a new light in my kitchen. While I was up there I noticed that the vent above my kitchen was right up against the insulation and not run down to my soffit to properly vent. Seeing that, I decided to check the rest. They were all installed this way. This is a health and safety hazard. On top of that, the deeper I got into my attic the more shallow the insulation got. I contacted Brett to let him know with no return phone call. I would stay away from this company. They won't install what they say and will attempt to pull the wool over your eyes. It shouldn't take more than one visit to get it right and this has taken three and it's obviously still not right.

With the initial treatment being super affordable and the specialized carpenter ant treatment waaay more reasonable that the other pest control services in Affton, I don't see why anyone would choose anywhere else. Stacey was awesome (and she laughed at my jokes so that is always a plus for me.) My service was super quick and the second carpenter ant treatment won't cost anything else for the second phase of service. She also recommended where I should fill in cracks to solidify our foundation and protect our home from other pests, not just ants. Pest control is a long game, especially if your house is like the many in Affton that are pretty darn old.
