I had invited at least a dozen contractors to bid on the job but elected to go with Rusty due to his overall expertise/experience, available options, and simply the comfort level I had with him. As a small business owner myself, I appreciated his involvement and the commitment he demonstrated throughout to make sure we were satisfied. We had some odd angles to deal with on the home but he figured out a solution for all of them. His crew was reliable and showed up exactly when they said they would. Rusty tends to work on one project at a time so didn't have alot of competing interests when he was working on our home. We were the focus, which is how it should be. I highly recommend Exterior Siding Solutions. Most of my neighbors have already commented on how nice it all turned out.

We built a custom home in Kirkwood 2 years ago, the siding installation by the builder was so bad we decided to replace it all, this experience made us extremely thorough selecting a company to rework the exterior of our home. We could not be happier with the work done by Exterior Siding Solutions, Rusty and his crew installed beautiful (insulated) vinyl siding, replaced all the gutters / downspouts, and did an artful job reworking the roofline gables and soffits. Rusty's focus on customer service was evident from the start, he made the material selection process easy, we chose CraneBoard Solid Core Insulated Siding, the quality and value of this product is outstanding. We understand all too well that the success of project like this is determined by the installation, the siding crew was highly experienced, and hardworking, Rusty was at the job site everyday to oversee all aspects of the installation and make sure we were completely satisfied. Exterior Siding Solutions is one of the finest companies I have work with, I recommend them without hesitation. Chris M. P.E

This bid was actually less than the competitors, and they had not been around as long as Harster! It was an easy choice. We scheduled to do the replacement in January. Jim and his team came out to do the install and addressed some additional needs to increase the air flow, make the existing unit up to proper code, and make the filter track so it fit filters appropriately. The last unit installation I'm sure was a DIY job or done by a less qualified company. Jim addressed all those issues. I was on a meeting when he was all finished and didn't get to go see the finished product until after he left. It was beautifully done and very neat.

My furnace stopped working and I called Harster after reading the other reviews on Yelp. The receptionist was very nice and she had a technician out in less than 2 hours. I ended up needing a new system, but two of the nicest and most informative technicians came out the very next day and completed the work. They talked to me about the system and what I can do to maintain it. The price was fair and what they quoted originally did not change after the work had been done. I would recommend this company to anyone.

Climate Masters have been servicing our boiler for the better part of thirty years. They knew what they were doing and were EXTREMELY informative. They showed me how our system worked, they took the time to explain everything from lighting the pilot light to bleeding the radiators. The tech even gave me a key to bleed the air from the radiators. They state they specialize in older homes and they did right by our 96 year old system! Highly highly highly recommended.

This was because the installers, Scott and Ethan, did an absolutely meticulous and exacting job. Our house is a 6400 sqft three story built in 1906. During the winter, the hvac system we had in place was never able to properly heat up the home. While driving one day, I spotted one of the Climate Masters' trucks with the motto, "we specialize in older homes" and wondered if they could fix our hvac setup. Tom came to assess and bid the job, and I must give thanks to how patient he was during the process. I took an excessive amount of time to decide, and yet Tom followed up throughout this period. Climate Masters ended up installing a large 140K BTU gas furnace, ran new black iron gas piping, and redid sections of our duct work. Part of the work involved cutting through a kitchen floor with brick veneer. Scott was able to shape the vent opening beautifully. The result was that for the first time ever, the house felt ... toasty during cold weather. When Spire came to activate the gas, servicemen on two separate occasions saw the installation and, without prompting, asked me which company did the job. When I asked why, they both said, "oh, it's because they did a great job!" Everyone I interacted with throughout the process has been wonderful: Scott and Ethan came promptly at 8 am each day and finished a huge job in 1.5 weeks; Doug was great with follow up logistics, and Jennifer always friendly and helpful with office paperwork.

He did well to follow-up, was patient, and absolutely respectful and reasonable through it all. He even came back a second visit to address any additional concerns. His crew did well to clean everything up after the work was all done. I was skeptical because he didn't go very deep inside the attic when he first visited, but he saw enough to know what needed to be done; definitely comes from experience. His recommendations were so different from the other bidders, that I needed to do research and ask other experts in the field to confirm his recommendations. His recommendations were on point with the science of attic ventilation. The other bidders usually saw 1 of the 3 things he observed. I do not have to run the hvac equipment as often and the amount of dust in the air is a fraction of what it was (foam seals off air movement). Simple enough - cut a hole in the drywall next to the stud, hang a single gang box, connect the power wires that are already in the wall one foot away, splice and cap, push it back in and done. Hour job, max. Ground floor, tile floor, easy peasy. Price? Well, that will be a "minimum charge" of $225. What? Really? Go back to Yelp and Next Door. Read all the reviews - hmm, Dwell Electric. Oh wait, I know Jason B, and it's his dad, and they are good people. Check that box. So I call and get Paul on the line. He's in the middle of a job, so he asks to call me back. He does. He can be over not tomorrow, but Wednesday. Does that work? Of course it does. 1pm? Perfect. Paul shows up 15 minutes early. Gets greeted by two large German Shepherds, whom he loves and pets and who follow him like trained assistants. Takes a look, says yes, easy job to do. Price? $125 - perfect. Let's go. Opens the wall - wait, their are wires but they aren't hot. What? Checks all the breakers and panels. Hmmm. Apparently when the house was built no one bothered to connect the power for all the 'direct connect central vacuum lines". Darn. That explains why the direct connect wouldn't work and why I'm having an extra outlet installed....Oh well - Paul's like, let's just connect power from over "here" (light switches) in the wall and do some extra work and wiring and maneuvering - ok, no problem, let me know if the cost goes up...Nope. No worries. Job completed in 30 minutes tops. Looks great. Still $125. Paul is an honest business person who charges a fair price and can handle anything from outlets to can lighting installation to complete home projects. He works almost exclusively in the Encinitas - Carlsbad area, so he's local and available and has two other guys just like him at Dwell. Give them a call and you'll be glad you did. They helped us with every aspect of the process - the initial meeting, the appliances, the home visit, the work itself, and the conclusion - which we appreciated. We value the relationship as they made complicated problems understandable, explained their suggestions, scheduled then completed the work efficiently, insisted on a walk-through upon completion - and did all of this within the costs and time frame as estimated. It was time to replace a 30 year old system. The moment I opened the front door and met Tyler Koonce, I relaxed and realized I was in very good hands. I can't say enough good things about Tyler. He's mature, professional, knowledgeable, an incredibly hard worker, and just a nice person. Tyler explained everything that would occur that day and encouraged me to check in on the progress at any time and ask questions, which I did. His colleague Chris joined him and the two of them spent the next five hours installing the new Lennox system. The two of them did a great job and were a great team.
