Then they do your arms and a little stretching. When they move onto your feet it's like you didn't know you had those areas that needed it. When I say they really get in there they really get in there. The sides, the heels, the entire foot. Wow. And then there is this stretching at the end and toe slapping and popping and kneading and everything I didn't know I needed. For $50 for an hour it was well worth it. The owner is Chinese but the front desk can speak English so you do not have to worry about the language barrier. My masseuse, her name is Alice, she was very good and strong. Second visit though it's been awhile. This time Summer was my MT and wow she does not mess around…read more I guess I've been sleeping weird or too much time at the computer but my neck was cooked so I went for an hour. Summer was so determined to get my neck and shoulders into some sort of respectable state. At some point she got up on the table and put me in this weird chokehold like position so she could dig her elbows into my neck. I realize this probably doesn't sound great but my neck needed it so bad. Now I'm definitely sore but I can swivel my neck around so I'm a happy camper. I would continue to go back for sure. A few things to note. I think their website got hacked because now it's some weird casino looking thing. They are still open just fyi. Also, they do take walk ins. They're not the most helpful if you don't know what you want in appearance, but once you're in the room the MT is really sweet and caring.

Unfortunately, the one good therapist that worked there left, so I was back on the hunt for a new spot. As luck would have it, I was back in the old neighborhood after a business meeting and decided to give this place another try. I'm so glad I did. The people here are all super friendly, and the rooms are clean and relaxing. Nothing has changed in that respect. Lisa has moved on, but in her place I was introduced to Anna. She referred to herself as tall Anna because, well, she's tall. She's also strong. Like VERY strong. As a 50-something that works out daily, I have some tight spots and some sore spots. With other therapists in the past I would ask for medium pressure and then point out when I needed deeper pressure. They would do their best, but it always seemed like their medium would fade toward light as the session went on and their deep was them putting every bit of weight they could muster into a single spot. This would lead to somewhat irregular pressure, and each visit was different from the previous. Really hit or miss, regardless of the therapist. Not with Anna though. Her medium is a firm, but soothing and consistent amount of pressure and, when she finds a tight spot, she puts just a little bit more into it without breaking cadence. It's a truly relaxing experience. It's going to sound weird, but I'd equate it to driving a car with more than enough power to handle any situation. Where a weaker car has to work as hard as it can to get to and maintain certain speeds, the more powerful car can do it effortlessly and with grace. I've now been back to see Anna four times and each time is just as good as the last. She is the epitome of consistency. It's worth the half hour drive to see her every week. Highly recommended!

I stumbled upon this place after searching for reflexology and massage because my shoulders and…read moreneck were in so much pain. I wasn't looking for frills but quality work to help get some of the kinks out of my back. I came to the right place! Called for a same-day appointment and the woman who answered the phone was very polite and accommodating. When I asked to confirm pricing from what is on the site, those are up-to-date and accurate. They are very easily located on Silber right after the entrance to the Edwards Theater. The lobby is clean and not dark and sketchy, with no cheesy music playing or blackout curtains. I went for the Combo #2 (80 mins total, 40 mins back/shoulder and 40 mins feet/head/arms) and Helen took the most amazing care of me. The pressure was hard, which I needed, but not painful; she truly worked on my issues and didn't just rub oil on my back. When we were finished, I got dressed and went into the other room for her to do my feet and I just wanted to sleep. She placed a warm therapy pillow on the lower part of my back and got to work while my feet soaked in a tub of warm/hot water. Helen proceeded to really work on my feet, legs, and toes! But only after she did a great job on my head (why do head massages just put me to sleep?) and then neck and shoulders and then placed a warm therapy eye pillow on my face to allow me to really sink into the second part of my appointment. Fancy spas are great if you are looking for that. But if you are truly looking for a quality experience with very professional people, I cannot recommend Soul Retreat Spa enough.
