We were encouraged to sample the products...im not gonna lie, there truly are a wide variety of olive oil and vinegars! And the plethora of flavors...MY GOD the flavors! I recently learned that I had a sensitivity to garlic and my heart broke in half. What do I do?!? Thankfully, after a little research, I learned that it's the flesh I have to avoid and that garlic infused oil is a great way to add the flavor back into my cooking. I grabbed a small bottle from Kroger earlier in the month and it was already close to needing a refill... and that's when a random stop to North Market landed me at Green Olive Company. Shopping at a local business is always a win in my book so I just had to get a bottle of their garlic infused oil to restock my pantry. I got a medium size bottle for I think $19. It was packaged up really nicely, which was great because I had walked there not expecting to buy anything. So far I've made salad dressing with it and tossed it in with some veggies while they roasted in the oven. Five stars all the way. I can't wait to go back and try others. With how often I make my own dressings, their lemon infused oil is on my list to try next. read more

This place is amazing. If you love cooking, you need to visit this shop. The amount of oil you can select from is top notch and gives you many possibilities on what to do with your next lunch or dinner plans. I've tried samples of many of them and Tuscan Herb is my favorite, so far. This flavor goes along with chicken, steaks, burgers and a splash in salad. It's hard to describe the flavor so go try a sample and you'll love it. I went through the small bottle very quickly so I went back and bought the next size up. I will never get oil from anywhere else because this store has me hooked. read more

We stumbled across this shop during Holiday Hop - what a find! Apparently that was their opening day - looked like they were getting plenty of interested business. :-) So what's the deal? A various selection of vinegars and olive oils - which all were VERY tasty. My husband and I went up and down the aisles sampling, and came back a week later to sample and buy some more. There's only so much olive oil you can taste in one day. Favorites? Mushroom and wild sage olive oil and dark chocolate balsamic vinegar! There was one olive oil that I don't remember the spelling - it wasn't one of the infused ones, but it was definitely his favorite. The two women in the store were SUPER friendly and we got to sample a pizzelle made by one of their grandmothers. This would be a good place to get a Christmas gift for the foodie in the family. read more

If you are looking for specialty olive oils or vinegars, this is hands down the place to go. The owners are friends, the prices can't be beat, and the oils and vinegars are wonderful! They also have a few other local products for sale, such as spices from the North Market, pasta, etc. All oils/vinegars are available to sample before purchasing, but don't look for bread to dip (except for the weekends)- you'll be sampling from a little cup to get the full flavor! The atmosphere is very warm and inviting and the staff is extremely knowledgeable and can recommend food pairings that compliment the different flavors (I'm going to try my new balsamic on some broiled salmon!) I'm always a fan of infused oils and vinegars. I have my own little supplier in Indy, but while my wife and I were meandering down the Short North, the Green Olive Co caught our eye and we had to stop in. The shop itself is quaint but the set up was exactly right. The walls lined with the oils on the left and the vinegars on the right. They had my favorite, which is the Blood Orange Olive Oil. This by the way is a great addition to home made pizza dough. AMAZING! We made our way to the vinegars and stumbled across the Cinnamon Pear Vinegar. They encourage tasting which is nice, and this was incredible so we bought some. read more

The products here are overshadowed by the terribly rude customer service. As I was checking out with 3 tiny bottles totaling 180ml and $15, I realized I should just buy the 375ml bottle for $16 and spend $1 to purchase 3 empty tiny bottles. I asked if I could pay $19 and have her fill half a 375 ml bottle so that I got a better value. The manager lied and told me she needed to approve this with a manager. When I said that was fine and asked to see manager, she admitted that she WAS the manager. I calmly reexplained the situation, and she was rude, so I paid and walked out. I stopped in their in all honesty just to get out of the cold and had no idea what it was or what they sell. 30 minutes later I walked out of the store with two bottles of vinaigrette. The woman working there, Lisa knows her stuff, and hopefully this is the jump start I need to start eating more healthy. I was so excited to find this retail store. I usually carry infused olive oil & balsamic vinegar on trips with me but was out. I had just picked up a fresh salad at Kroger but forgot dressing. I happen to see this store walking back to my hotel. The have a huge selection of infused olive oil and balsamic vinegars. They let you taste samples and recommend combinations. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They even sell the products in 3 oz airline friendly bottles. I will make this a regular stop when I'm in Columbus. read more
