Then I tried Dearborn Heights a couple of years later. Same thing!!! I just tried this location in Warren, and it's phenomenal too. I'm not sure why I didn't post reviews in the past. This was such a good burger!…read more One of the best burgers I have had. I have been wanting to try this place for years. I was finally on the right side of time and had time to go in. They are located next to a gas station which comes in handy if you also need gas. I order the number 1 and my son ordered the pizza burger. Both were very filling and delicious. The original burger was cooked perfectly and the bun was pretty good. The onions and pickles were so good and I don't usually like pickles. I didn't try the signature sauce as I'm not a fan of thousand island. But many people will enjoy it the way it's suppose to be made I'm sure. The pizza burger was pretty cool. It had 3 nice sized mozzarella sticks on them and pizza sauce. We wanted fries and they only come in one size. The one size is big enough to share. We were suggested the lemon pepper fries and that was such a great suggestion. They are fresh cut fries and you can tell. I was happy they had regular fries and not the battered crispy ones a lot of place do. So they definitely will get 5 stars for the fries alone. It has some seating inside, but most people seem to get carry out. The men at the counter were so nice in helping us. They really suggested things we would like and we did. I will be glad to give them my business again.

Seating is limited and not convenient for large families or groups. Once your buzzer goes off, you go back up to the counter to pick up your food. Food was great and quick. There isn't someone refilling drinks or taking your empty plates. Food is served on disposable plates and containers. And you dispose of your trash in the trash can yourself near the door. Overall - would come back. Perfect for quick lunch !

Since being recently diagnosed with a gluten intolerance, I've been on the lookout for places with…read moregood gluten-free options. This spot has quickly become my go-to when I'm craving "fast food" style meals. So far, I've tried the gluten-free chicken tenders, cheeseburger on a gluten-free bun, seasoned fries, and even their gluten-free cookie. The chicken tenders are especially delicious; once home, I like to drizzle honey and dip them in barbecue sauce, which takes them to the next level. The seasoned fries are always perfectly crispy and flavorful. I'm not a fan of their gluten-free bun or gf cookie but I think I just have to get used to eating things without gluten in it now. The staff has consistently been friendly and helpful. While the seating area inside is small (making it more of a takeout spot), there are a few tables if you'd like to dine in. There's also a small bathroom available and a convenient ordering screen in the lobby for quick service. Overall, this is a solid place for gluten-free comfort food; whether you're in the mood for burgers, sandwiches, or chicken tenders. I've already been several times, and I'll definitely keep coming back!

I've had better plant-based hot dogs but it wasn't bad. The burger was really good, but I wish the cheese was melted on it. The prices were the only downside. $13 for a kinda small burger. The fries were really good as well (not included with the burger) but I couldn't taste any seasoning despite being called seasoned fries. I'll be back to try the vegan chicken tenders!

I will say, it is pricy and can take a long time to make since it's made fresh to order, especially if there's any kind of line. The sandwich had great flavor and the mac and cheese was creamy and comforting. We also ordered a club sandwich with chicken noodle soup, and that combo was just as good. The soup was warm and flavorful, perfect for a cold day. The only downside? No baguettes. Again. I honestly don't understand how Panera runs out of baguettes so often. Isn't that kind of your thing? It's a little disappointing when you're ordering warm soups and don't get that warm, crusty bread on the side. Everything tasted great, but the missing baguette definitely took away from the full experience.

Took 30 minutes for a sandwich. But I did get a free pickle.

While cruising through the heart of Royal Oak, I noticed this little deli shop, calling my name…read morepast apartment buildings and local scenery. They have an extensive menu to include vegetarian options which was nice to see. They also have many local brands to include chips, sodas, and other small local business products (caramelized nuts, baked goods, etc.)! On the topic of local businesses, they also had a board which allowed local owners to post business cards and event alerts, fantastic for drawing the community together. Now, I ordered a Reuben as a lover of corned beef and sauerkraut. It was delicious and sizeable, a fair portion size for the money as well. The chips were also delicious having gone for the salt, pepper, and onion variety. A solid crunch and bursting with flavor. Among the positives I have two negatives, both of which are not adequate enough to lower their star ranking. Firstly, it took around 20-25 minutes to get our food after ordering. I rarely hold timing against a restaurant as having worked in food, I know lunch rush exists and things happen. To mitigate this (for those in the area) I believe they have an online ordering system, which I would recommend utilizing! Secondly, they do not have indoor seating, so it is a very grab and go type establishment. This is counteracted by the multitude of benches around Royal Oak, though it would be nice to have some amount of seating, especially for those with accessibility needs and those waiting on their food. Overall, Oak House Deli is solid and delicious and I will definitely stop by again when I am in the area!

I'm going to preface this by saying that I think I might just not be an Italian Beef kinda gal…read more Despite living in Chicago for a full decade I embarrassingly never had one before, but I was near Matt & Mo's and saw the rave reviews and had to give it a try. Now, objectively I can say it's very good. The portions are huge, the meat is flavorful and juicy, the peppers were good. There's just some herb or something mixed in there in the marinade/aus jus, that I just don't think I like (I think it might be fennel? Something kind of licorice-y that I don't jive with). But if you're an Italian beef fan, or enjoy that flavor profile, you're gonna love it! Now, what I did love was everything else! The fried ravioli? Delicious! The french fries? So good! And a very generous portion of both! Service was also VERY friendly and everything was prepared quite quickly! It's a walk up window but there are some picnic tables for dining there, though I chose to eat in my car before making my way back home. I would 100% come back by and go for perhaps a sausage or a coney dog next time, definitely stick with orders of those ravioli and fries, too!

The sandwich originated in Chicago, so I like that Matt & Mo's has a replica of Wrigley Field's ivy wall. On the flip side, I didn't like being charged a 4% fee for paying with a card. My wife ordered a pepperoni pizza puff along with French fries. The pizza puff fell apart too easily, and was basically a larger version of a Totino's pizza roll. The fries were standard. With my sandwich, I ordered poutine. The consistency and flavor of the gravy made the poutine much better than average. As for the Italian beef, it did not disappoint. I regret getting just sweet peppers, as I should have gotten either hot or mild peppers with the sweet. I did get the whole sandwich dipped in au jus, which was the right move. This was my first time having an Italian beef, so it's hard to judge, but I definitely enjoyed it. Next time, I will bring cash to pay, and might even try some of the other menu items. I look forward to trying Doug's Delight, as well.

I recommend the chicken sandwich with fries meal - both items were crispy and delicious. However, my meal only came with lettuce. Not a big deal since I'm not a fan of tomato, but if you want more on your sandwich, make sure you say that when ordering. I'm not a fan of the fried chicken, but it is just a matter of preference. I like bone-in fried chicken, and the chicken served here is similar to the Taiwanese fried chicken cutlet - a large boneless fried chicken with dark meat. 98k is definitely worth dining at and is better than the average fried food restaurant.
