Recently had some landscaping completed by Jeff and the team at Green Grass. Wasn't quite sure about trees that would work with our current landscape architecture but glad we called for professional advice versus picking something up from a nursery at a big box store. I have been a customer of green grass for more than 10 years. Generally its been for maintenance, yard lightening and other landscaping needs. However, in recent days I've encountered water damage from the village pipe system and although not a green grass issue I called and they have responded in a truly remarkable fashion. The actions and responsiveness demonstrated by Dan and Mike and the admin staff have gone above my expectations. Responsive, professional and caring exemplify this organization! We contracted Green Grass for a professional landscaping design to serve as a blueprint going forward. We wanted to create a backyard garden scape and thought we could count on Green Grass. Jeff came out to look at the property. Didn't take any notes or photos, which didn't bother us at the time as we had not received a proposal yet, so we figured it was a just the initial meeting. He sent the proposal - $780 for plan for which he required a 50% downpayment. We paid, and he told us they were extremely busy but should have something for us in 3-4 weeks. Three weeks later, after not having heard from ANYONE, I reached out and was told someone would be on site the next day for photos and measurements. Nobody reached out to us to ask our opinions on plants, run any ideas by us, or gain additional insight into what we were looking for. There were no additional face to face meetings or even a phone call. A week later, four weeks to the day that we went under contract, we were e-mailed a plan that was commensurate with something that we could have had done at Home Depot. There was nothing imaginative about it. The plan was comprised almost entirely of arborvitae, hostas, ground cover and hydrangeas. The paver patio and walkway had no flow, and was all done at straight edges and 90 degree corners - which is very easy and efficient for them to lay (while allowing them to charge the same cost per square foot) but devoid of any creativity or flair. EXTREMELY disappointed we lost four weeks for something that looked like they maybe spent an hour on. When I expressed my disappointment to Jeff, he simply said he would waive the second half of the fee, basically confirming he had no interest in the project or any commitment to delivering a quality final product. So I am out $390 and four weeks, but can only imagine how bad it would have been had we actually gone to contract on a project. Take a pass on Green Grass. read more

Our front yard was, as my wife described it, a hot mess. We talked with several landscape companies and after speaking with Todd at Green Grass we hired them for the work. Todd was great to work with as he listened to what we wanted to do and came up with a plan that was exactly what we wanted. The entire front yard was ripped out a new paver walkway installed a new planting area with bushes, plants and a tree installed then came the sodding of the lawn. Patrick ran the installation end of the work and he and the crew that did the "heavy lifting", were professional, engaging, and good at their work. Some of the sod did not come in as expected and Todd and Patrick were quick to react and replaced a good portion of the sod immediately and when a couple of patches still did not take they had the crew out their again to take care of the problem. Great service from start to finish. Excellent work and at a reasonable cost. I do not hesitate in giving Green Grass a 5 Star rating. read more
