We snacked on the shables mushrooms, they were well seasoned but the yogurt sauces they sat top on of wasn't. I enjoyed the attempt, but it fell short. The Tiki Tiki drink is considered a sharable drink.. hmmm I beg to differ, however, it was very good! I would recommend you not serve it with short straws since the Tiki cup is so tall. I'm sure it is better staffed and more accommodating during the evening. The 1 waiter was extremely friendly! I was very happy they had an A from the Health Dept. We were going to sit in the restaurant, but it's the same menu in Green Room 42. We were pleasantly surprised by the quality and taste of everything we had. While dining, the music was at a great level. It was easy to have a conversation. The service was also good, especially for a nightclub. The old fashioned was well balanced. They offered 2 warm drinks. I had the one with whiskey and it was delicious - garnished with whipped cream, star anise, cinnamon stick and crisp apple slice. The chicken lettuce wrap appetizer comes with three portions and covered by a delicious, but slightly oily crisp. It was ample enough to be a light entree for one. The waiter didn't show me my total at the end of the night and over charged me for what I ordered. Management tried to claim the frozen drinks that were labeled as 16$ had an extra, unlabeled charge for being frozen. I went back and forth with Management and the Accounting office for four days trying to get the correct amount charged. Management was rude and unhelpful, and as someone in the restaurant industry this shows a lack of good training of leadership and staff, banking off making money off not checking their bank account. read more

Drove into the city to watch the dueling pianos at Yotel. It was at the Green Fig on the fourth floor. While it was not my first time at the hotel, it was my first time at the restaurant. We requested to be close to the performers and were seated basically right in front of them. Definitely appreciated the accommodation! For food, we decided on something light. Ordered the truffle fries with white truffle oil, pecorino romano, chives. For drinks, I ordered a Prickly Prickly. Can't recall the drink my friend got. The truffle fries were good. You can't go wrong with them. My drink was good and had the perfect balance. We enjoyed the show - the drummer was incredible! Wish the pianos were actually dueling instead of duetting. The pianos/singers did great with the broadway requests, but struggled with pop songs and other requests. They still had customers dancing and singing along. I recently went to an event there and the place was terrible. Staff was really disorganized and layout of the space was weird. I'm only actually writing this because they said their credit card machines were broken but they charged my card 3 times in the space of 5 minutes. Then I wound up paying cash, and luckily asked for a receipt, because now they won't reverse the charges. I've called at least 10 times in the last two weeks and emailed an employee a picture of my cash receipt. All of the charges (3 credit card, 1 cash) were for the exact same amount and all within a minute or two of each other. Now my credit card company is taking care of it, but they shouldn't have had to even get involved. read more

here are some neighborhoods that are not on my radar, 10th Avenue is one of them, so when Green Fig came up as a possibility, I thought it was worth a try. I have no idea if the restaurant is managed by the hotel, but when you see signs on the tables that say, "Food from outside must be consumed in your cabin," it does send a message....so the rooms are larger than a "capsule" but smaller than a "room." This does not suggest "fine" dining, and Green Fig lives up to its promise. The lunch menu had only a few items, pricey but reasonable portions, and clearly meant to be as simple as possible for the staff, rather than as appealing as possible for the customers. I had a Flatbread -- creamy spinach-artichoke, sun-dried tomato, basil, feta cheese for $19 which was ok, though there appeared to be no spinach, and the artichokes were from a jar of marinated artichokes, and a Cold -- in November ??, even the waiter warned us it was cold -- macaroni salad with vegetables, which was completely unexciting, and indeed, cold, for the outrageous price of $20. And for terrible restaurant coffee -- why do I even think of doing this to myself, I hate coffee in restaurants nearly all the time, but I was cold from not having a hot meal -- was $8 for 2. The waiter was very friendly and polite, but a bit inexperienced...you do have to come back sooner or later when people are drinking coffee to ask them if they would like anything else or the check. And in a big place, where every other table is empty, why put a noisy group of tourists next to the only occupied table where 2 people are having a quiet conversation over lunch ?? Is that a plan to annoy them ? I came here with my boyfriend for brunch while we were visiting NYC. It was empty, so we were quickly seated indoors. I ordered the eggs Benedict, which came with a small side salad. The egg was perfectly cooked, and the yolk spilled out when I cut the egg with a fork. The egg yolk tasted great with the spinach and the brioche bun. Nicole Clarkson her team and JD knocked this out of the park from pre production to execution for our July 2025 corporate event. Everyone in attendance was thrilled. I would totally throw another event here, however I would budget ahead to have a standby/full time janitorial staff through-ought the entire event keep the bathrooms above airport cleanliness quality. (these bathrooms are shared with many hotel guests and it shows quickly. Also, I would have to insist someone from Green Figs stays in bldg lobby as the separate Hotel Staff working the front doors has no incentive to help guide guests to the "Green Fig Area" (we discovered they are different companies) and were very rude to our guests, which Nicole handled like a pro when she was made aware. However these doormen/grifters should be fired, asking 25$ per item to help carry small luggage into our already paid for 20k$ rental space... it almost lost us a million dollar client just for being rude/as they. were behaving above their job and making guests feel uncomfortable. It really made our guests confused and left distaste in their mouth. I must highlight the insane NYC skyline views/venue space distracted from any minors bumps poised by the evening itself. (TL;DR: 3.5 stars for food, -.5 for being overpriced, -1 for having a very misleading/out of date Yelp page where most of the items are not on the menu anymore. Felt a bit duped into going.) This is the exact same establishment as "social drink and food", in the Yotel on 4th floor. (Not sure why they made two Yelp listings, so they can keep the higher rated one?) Came here for brunch. Not great not bad, but pricey for what it is. Food is nothing spectacular but also no negative surprises. Portions are pretty decent. I would say 3.5, but rounded down because it's a bit overpriced. I went there because of interesting dishes I saw on Yelp but something like 70% of those were not on the menu so just FYI. Terrace is quiet and not crowded on a Sunday. It's mostly shaded and cool on a hot summer day. Minimal views though unless you like looking at a bunch of residential high rises (as opposed to skyline, as in you can't see the horizon just a bunch of buildings towering over the area). I guess eat here if you're staying at the hotel, or need to find an uncrowded last minute outdoor terrace for your event. Otherwise there are some other food choices in a 10 min radius you'll probably end up happier with - just search on Yelp. read more

My wife and I had theater tickets on 42nd Street and we were looking for a quiet restaurant in the vicinity when we discovered the Green Fig, located on the 4th floor of the Yotel on 10th Avenue between 41st and 42nd Street. The menu has a wonderful selection of Mediterranean dishes and we were both impressed with their descriptions as well as the choices that we made. We started with Fried Cauliflower with a lemon cream sauce that was so delicious that we were in culinary heaven! We also shared: King Oyster Steak and Ceviche Fattoush! The views were lovely, the staff professional and we will be going back soon to sample more of their menu We just came back for our third visit and every we dine here, we LOVE it more! The Green Fig was alright. In terms of atmosphere, it's very nice. The rooftop is a super chill place to hang out and the terrace has nice views. The food, however, left something to be desired. The artichoke ricotta flatbread was basically a pre cooked piece of bread that they layered toppings on after it was cooked. It is something I would make at home. I think the flavors could have been elevated and the product just would have been better if the toppings were baked on. My bartender was super friendly though. Place was very casual but great. Came and stayed at yotel for a girlfriend's birthday. Came here to eat and had the lamb kabobs, roasted cauliflower, mezzo, and duck confit pasta. All of the sauces that came with the mezzo was excellent! So good! Except for the babaganoush bc it was too charcoaled. Andrea our waitress was super polite, professional, honest and great! The manager, Victor was awesome too! Loved the hospitality of this hotel especially at the restaurant. She was having issues & had asked for an ice pack. The Green Fig team was able to deliver! After paying we were walking out and the manager, Victor, was super sweet and chased us down and offered a round at the bar for my girlfriend's birthday! He was super sweet, professional and great! A friend and I came in here for Restaurant Week on a quiet evening. Green Fig is located on the 4th floor of the Yotel New York. We were seated right away and got to pursuing the menu. Since it was restaurant week, we did the 3 course pre-fixe. I went with the butternut squash soup, Salmon, and doughnut holes. My friend did the same, but substituted the soup for the salad option. I really enjoyed the soup and the doughnut holes were a fun option. I wasn't a huge fan of the Salmon. I personally don't love when the skin is left on and the veggies/sauce that accompanied it weren't my favorite either. Ambiance was interesting. The restaurant is out in the open and shares space with a bar, an outdoor patio, and a lounge space. It wasn't too loud the day we went, but I could see it getting very busy on a Friday or Saturday night! Our server was super friendly and checked in on us periodically. Overall, the experience here was good but not great. Though we only tried the Restaurant Week options, the food wasn't my favorite and the ambiance was just kind of meh. read more

As our last dinner in New York, we decided to keep it beyond local and have dinner at the Green Fig, on the 4th floor of Yotel, which is where we were staying at. Now the ambiance is really nice and the service is incredible. Seeing that I was going to crawl into bed shortly after dinner (Iceland exhaustion), I went light and went for the fish of the day main course. The fish of the day was dorade, which I had never had before. It was amazing! Served with a pumpkin cream sauce and garbanzo beans, this plate was just incredible! The sauce was honestly heavenly! The dorade was light, with a nice crispness to it. I honestly can't stop raving about it. Our sever was also fantastic, especially since he sold me on the Dorade. Cute place for a date and the music is also fantastic! Oh and by the by the bar offers $4 mimosas (that was an earlier discovery). Came here for the pride weekend with friends out of town. The place is very cute and no line with pretty good views of manhattan buildings. This is the only reason it has a one star The service was beyond awful, we were a group of 6 sat down, it took about 30mins for them to bring menu. Then the waiter asked us what we wanted, we told him to give us a minute to look at the menu. He walked away and never came back. So we had to order drink ourselves from the bar. I went over to the bar trying to order Deward's white label on the rock, the bar tender told me he didn't have it, I told him it's on the menu and I can see it on the shelf. He walked away to take care of other customer until no one was ordering then came back to me to take care of my order. After another 30mins we got our drinks from the bar the same waiter came back and asking if we need anything else, said that apparently it was not his table it was "Tracey"'s table. I asked who is Tracey? She never even showed up. The service is awful and all the waitresses have very bad attitudes. If I was allowed to give half points (which I know we are not), I would give them 3.5 starts. It is not always easy find a good restaurant that is open during holidays, with reasonable pricing. We needed a restaurant that offers good food at reasonable price on Thanksgiving day, and although there were several restaurants who were open with special Thanksgiving menu, they were either booked or the Prix Fixe menu was very expensive. Finally, I came across Green Fig, with reasonable Prix Fixe price. They are located at the fourth floor inside Yotel. The elevator of Yotel is super dark, as if we are inside (or going to) night club of some sort... Once we got out of the elevator, we were back in the light, thank goodness. The restaurant was quiet on this Thanksgiving day in the afternoon. The dining area was not too large, but good enough size. Their Prix Fixe for Thanksgiving Day ($42) were three courses, with one appetizer, one main, and one dessert of your choice. Since there were several of us, we got to see and eat most of their offerings. They offer modern Israeli cuisine with influences from countries around it. Therefore, their dishes are made with spices imported from those regions, that provides unique flavors. Food was good and service was very friendly and polite, but slow. The server took our orders without writing it down (I think so that it looks better?) which made it difficult since he had to repeat everyone's order a couple of times until he go it right. And even then, he got few of our orders wrong. Furthermore, it took a while for dishes to comes out, and even when it did, not all of our dishes came out at the same time for everyone. This was not good, we either had to wait for everyone's dishes to come out (while your dish gets cold), or feels guilty eating when someone at your table does not have his/her dish brought out. As I mentioned, each dish had that extra spice, providing flavors from Israel and Middle East, which was both good and not good, based on personal preference. Stayed at this hotel and wanted to get some take out dinner. I Ordered the cheeseburger and fries. Burger was quite thick and had zero flavor, like no seasoning at all. Fries as you can see in the picture I attached were not cooked thoroughly. Some parts of the fries you can see are still raw. It was 15 mins before closing. Customer service was ok. I asked for side of mayo and ketchup when I phoned my order in, they forgot the mayo. Good thing I checked before I left. There are No pickles on the side. Just a piece of lettuce. Drunk Shakespeare was wonderful... but I came here and they took my credit card and never gave it back. The next day I called for it and they wouldn't pick up the phone. The waiters and waitresses displayed a pleasant professionalism that made me feel both at ease and welcome. They were genuine in their concerns about my happiness at their establishment and made special accommodations when necessary for my wife who has a dairy allergy. OMG this place was ridiculously good. We, the family, for the first time in 15 years needed a place to have Passover dinner. When my Mom said Yotel, I went ... huh? Bit of an odd brunch experience--almost like nobody knows they serve brunch (including some of the staff)--but overall I'd come back. We followed the sign up the elevator and to the left, arrived in an empty bar area and someone asked if they could help--I said we have a brunch reservation and he pointed us out to the terrace, which was also emptier than expected but actually not too bad since we were in the shade. The dishes are a myriad of distinctive flavors. The dishes are seasoned with spices directly from the region and feature ingredients that are fresh and locally sourced. The experience at Green Fig was kind of like having dinner at someone's house. Family style, the dishes are meant to be shared and food arrives, as it is prepared, in no precise order. I absolutely loved the food. The ingredients gave every dish a zesty taste and you could truly savor the variety of flavors in each bite. I had two experiences here. The first was a few afternoon drinks and an order of nachos split between my fiancé and myself. The drinks were strong, but not overbearing. We had chicken added to the nachos and they were SO good! The chicken was very flavorful and the nachos had a delicious pico de gallo on them. The second experience was great! We had brunch. This evening at 6:30 PM my family and I experienced flat out discrimination by the General Manager of this restaurant, "George". George refused to serve my wife and me and my two sons, my 23 year old son with Down Syndrome and his two year old brother who is intellectually disabled. All 4 of us were perfectly behaved and the only issue was the extremely rude General Manager who apparently has a problem with intellectually disabled small children and adults, and possibly small children in general. The first words out of "George's" mouth rather than "good evening" was an admonition that he didn't want my two-year-old "running around the restaurant". My two year old was well behaved and sitting in his stroller. I replied "of course not" and asked for a high chair and he flat out lied and said that the restaurant has no high chairs. I pointed out to him that in the last 24 hours we had eaten in the restaurant three times and were given a high chair every time. I have pictures to prove it! George rudely told me that I was mistaken and that I was lying to him. He said he was at the restaurant at these various times when I was there and that there was never any high chair. When I contradicted him he told me to leave and said that he refused to serve me and my family. Fortunately, this entire incident was observed by YOTEL security staff who have vouched for me. Warning to YOTEL guests: while the manager on duty and security were very, very, very nice to me and sympathetic, unfortunately the restaurant is independent of the hotel. The unfortunate reality is if you come to the YOTEL with a disabled child or adult and perhaps any child George is liable not to serve you and to humiliate you in front of your family and other guests. So it reflects very poorly on YOTEL even though it is not their fault. I also want to emphasize how unscrupulous George is. When I asked his name he lied and said it was "Rory". I have since found out his name is George. My understanding is that George reports directly to the owner of this restaurant, "Gil". Gil, I hope you read this review and will contact me personally and immediately to discuss. I will not deal with your General Manager so please don't bother. On Monday I will be filing a Discrimination Complaint with the NYC Human Rights Commission. And seeking an attorney. I will not stand by idly and allow this sort of discrimination go unchecked. read more

This was the absolute WORST Halloween party I've ever been to! It was $60 for two hours of open well bar, hors d'oeuvres, late night pizza bar and live DJ on a rooftop. It was false advertisement and was not provided what was listed on their website. For starters, there was barely any food. The only food served was cubes of feta cheese and watermelon with bread and hummus. But not enough supply because they ran out of it. There were at least 75 people and maybe only 20 people were fed. There was NO LIVE DJ. It was a speaker with low sound music come out of it. The music wasn't even top 40, it was like Kids Bop. The most disappointing aspect was the bar. I know what to expect from a well bar. But they just had tequila, gin and vodka with coke, sprite and cranberry juice. Where are the other juices and mixers?! No pineapple, orange, vermouth or sour mix?! The late night pizza bar was only FIVE small oven fired flatbreads. So you can imagine, once again, not everyone was fed. Its an ok place. The ambience is good, but the taste was not splendid - for the price. It might resonate more with tourists, but I believe there are better spots in the city in the given price range. P.S. I had the roasted cauliflower and Panna Cotta. The flavoring over the cauliflower was a bit mild and could be a bit stronger. While the Panna Cotta was creamy, something about the sweet basil flavored syrup over the Panna Cotta did not excite me. read more

Do yourself a favor and do not eat here. Food is disgusting. They gave us wrong menu after finally making food selections only then they tell us that they don't serve that after 12. Then they have no coffee. Server asked to use vending machine. We ask cups for it because it looks like u need one for it to dispense. Server told us to get it from the other server. The other server tells us it is auto dispense. Finally after payment. Congratulations The machine is out of cups. The definition of flat bread here is opposite lol.
