I contacted this nursery because it was in the area. Once I found out the pricing I was absolutely sold.... So onto the stellar review. I was looking for a nursery/repotting help. My Mom recently passed away unexpectedly and had over 175+ plants. I had been struggling with a few of them and contacted them asking for help and I spoke with Peter. Let me say this, Peter is a GEM, he was so kind and patient "OVER THE PHONE." I have yet to meet him because he was off on Tuesday but I look forward. I know I had taken up a lot of his time, asked the same questions and possibly rambling because I just wanted to help save my Moms plants. Peter told me to come in the next morning and who to speak with. Once I got to the nursery the following morning I met Kathleen and she took my plant brothers & sisters too be repotted. I came back to pick them up later that day and the looked wonderful. I have found a new nursery and I am so excited. Everyone was so helpful and kind, they offered condolences and told me to email any concerns/questions I may have in the future. Michael and team came back for a spring clean-up and adding some plantings for a bit more color and texture. We love what we did last spring and fall; it's small but wonderful to look at, and the fragrances are great. We will have blooms emerging all summer. We highly recommend this firm. read more

I found this plant nursery while traveling. I am happy that I visited this location. Their selection of plants are charming! Their plants include an indoor selection, garden vegetables/fruits and perennials. I specifically enjoyed the greenhouse that houses a variation of indoor plants. The greenhouse offers selections of philodendrons, succulents, pothos, peperomia and more. My attention gravitated towards the Mezoo Trailing Red and the Variegated Shell Ginger. Both plants are beautiful and will be great additions to my plant collection. The staff at Green Field are friendly. I enjoyed speaking with a young lady with blonde hair (sorry I don't know her name) about the nursery's philodendron collection. Such a lovely quaint shop with a unique variety of plants, herbs, fruits and more! Came here to get a housewarming gift for a friend and bought the cutest pineapple plant. Honestly there were a solid 10 other plants I wanted to get, so many options and all looking VERY healthy! Will be back in next time I'm in town! read more

I have not gone since the pandemic so this review is for before that. But I have to say, the selection here is so nice! They have an ample amount of indoor plus outdoor plants to choose from. All very healthy and some harder to find varieties! I picked up a beautiful Calathea and a few other easy to tend to items as I'm just starting out in the plant world. The staff is very nice and knowledgeable, my mom goes here at least once a month and really enjoys that they get new plants in often, often times ones that she does not yet have. The prices are on par with other nurseries and are not unreasonable, they have a lot of parking plus a bathroom. read more

I have driven past this intersection of Falls Road & Northern Parkway a gazillion times and never knew this was place nestled here hiding in plain sites. Early Saturday morning visits to nurseries is becoming a thing of mine lately and it's so calming. This place is not huge, but it's quaint and packs a punch with its variety. I loved walking through and looking at all of the plants, trees and accessories that they have. I was told that it can be a bit pricey but I did not feel that way. It could be that I went while they were having their half off summer sale but a lot of the items were decently priced in my opinion. I have become low key obsessed with the Alocasia/Colocasia species since my visit to Bali last year and towards the end of my visits I spotted some nice ones on the outside of the gate, I walked outside and around and noticed that they were planted there as a part of the landscape and not in buckets for sale I did ask the staff if they sold them and I was directed to an area where there were a few left but none looking like the variety planted out front. Looking for an Alocasia Diamond Head and I am sure I come across one at some point. The staff were friendly and I enjoyed my visit. To be that close to a busy intersection, it surprisingly still felt like I travelled far out for this visit. read more

I found a nice selection of Christmas trees but they were way out of my price range. I usually pay 65 dollars for a tree that we cut down ourselves and get a free cup of cocoa. Here, the trees ranged up to over $200 and the selection was limited. read more

If you're new to owning plants like I am, this is a great place to come get started. There's a fairly wide, although not overwhelming, selection of indoor and outdoor plants and pots, tools, etc., and the prices seemed reasonable. The employees were friendly and gladly helped me pick out a couple of good house plants to start out with. They also helped me carry my new lucky bamboo to my car! I've been wanting to become a plant mom for some time now. So, I took it upon myself to research some local nurseries. Nothing is better than supporting small and local businesses! This cute nursery is located on the corner of a road and you could truly miss it in a blink of an eye. The parking lot is also super tiny, but other than that it is nice. They have a good selection of plants and a nice shot for all your gardening needs. Some plants looked a little unwell, but most were nice and seemed to be kept well. While I had an okay experience, I did see an employee getting a little snappy with a customer. Other than that I'm super excited about my new plant! read more

I really didn't want to buy a cut tree because I wanted a live Christmas tree. These are pretty hard to find! (although I found a Norfolk Pine at Safeway for $10 a week later!). After scanning the yellow pages and online searches, Green Fields was in the most convenient location at the time. They're prices aren't the cheapest but very competitive and they not only had a ton of freshly cut trees but also ones with burlap wrapped roots to plant in the ground and ones growing in pots (these were utterly ridiculous). $126 or maybe more for the one my height? I guess they would have lasted me forever if I didn't kill it between now and next year...but that's not a guarantee. So I opted for the little potted tree and the jingle bell poinsettia that's red and spotted and ultra pretty in my living room. The gardening associates are really nice. They wrapped the poinsettia pot with foil and carried the tree to my car. I wish plants weren't so expensive. They have a little green house and not a huge selection but it was definitely worth my trip. We'll see if my tree and poinsettia are still around next year. read more

I'm a beginner gardener and so very glad I came across this place, through google search. They have many varieties of plants/flowers; even plants I had a hard time finding elsewhere (indoor plants in good condition). There prices were reasonable for most varieties; however, some prices seemed excessive. It was such a pleasure meeting Peter, one of the advisors, there. He was so very helpful in not only helping me find plants that best meets my needs, but also giving me valuable information! Called today to order a Xmas tree for delivery and set up. The RUDEST PEOPLE EVER!!! Spoke with Kathleen and Taylor. Taylor was young and not that knowledgeable but earnest and tried to help- her supervisor Kathleen was awful!!! Rushed , bothered and unhelpful- answers very short and clearly annoyed that she was asked to take a call and then she eventually just hung up the phone because I asked too many questions. A deep disappointment and this was after last year getting a Xmas tree from them that died within days- but I gave them another chance this year but they clearly don't care about their customers or reputation. Nadine is amazing! I called the nursery distressed thinking something was terminally wrong with my new Monstera Deliciosa. Nadine asked me to come back in to help me diagnose. She asked questions and thoroughly inspected my plant. We discussed how to fix the issue and she made relevant product recommendations. If you're just starting out, I'd recommend a cheaper place like your local Lowe's or Depot, but if you've already dove into the houseplant life they have some harder to find plants that were on my list! read more

Disappointed with 2019 $3k landscaping design job. #1 criteria was color and we got zero color May-Aug; turns out we got mostly shade plants for sunny East side of house; poor specimens - at least 10 shrubs and perennials died at 1yr mark despite consistent watering; and they didn't take into account the gutter so a whole corner of the bed washed away with first rain (we redid ourselves bc didn't trust them to do it right). The crew did a good job grading the bed and were respectful and cleaned up well. Problems came mainly from stock and landscaper's plan. read more

We picked up our Christmas tree here this year, a Frasier Fir, trimmed and placed in our car by a few of the friendly young men who work there. Prices were competitive and comparable to larger tree lots in Baltimore and they had a great selections of smaller trees, which is what we were looking for. We also frequent Green Fields for herbs and gardening supplies as needed, service has always been friendly and the employees very knowledgable. Wish we had more use of their services, but as apartment dwellers with limited green space, maybe in the future. read more

I am a novice gardener, but this summer I wanted to grow a little summer vegetable/fruit garden. I am big on customer service and the customer service by the employee "helping" me almost made me turn and leave. I explained to her that this would be my first garden and that I have no experience with gardening. She seemed reluctant to help me, and at times it felt like I was playing tug of war to get information. Case in point, she neglected to tell me I would eventually need some sort of structure to support my tomatoes once they reached a certain height. From my novice eyes, they seem to have a large selection and the gentleman who loaded my purchases into my car was very nice and helpful. read more

You do not want to use this company for any of your landscaping needs. They are completely unprofessional and have no respect for your time. I should have known better the first time when I received a call 30 minutes prior to my appointment to tell me they were going to be an entire hour late. I was forced to rescheduled for the very first appointment a couple days later. No one ever showed, or called to tell me they would not be making the appointment. When I called the office, they simply told me that they didn't think I would still want to meet since there was snow on the ground. This was hilarious to me because there was literally a 1/2 inch, if that, whereas everything was completely iced over for our initial appointment. I never received an apology and I'm still waiting for the manager to follow up with me. Good thing I'm not holding my breath! I don't know about you, but I would much rather take my business to a place that treats their clients well. read more

Green Fields' staff are plant doctors! They saved my most sentimental plant! After my wedding more than two years ago, I was able to salvage only one piece of my wedding bouquet, a succulent. Today, after years of steady growth, I found the base of the stem shriveled and the roots rotted. I phoned Green Fields to see if they could help me save the remaining stem and leaves. Robin answered the phone and said they could help! When I arrived, they greeted me, opening the door as my hands were full. Peter took care of the sick succulent, repotted it in well-draining soil and treated with root growth hormone powder. He answered all of my questions. In addition, he took time to teach me how to care for my other plants and sent me off with a complimentary cutting. Excellent and generous service! read more

I would never use this company as they are unprofessional and have no respect for their neighbors or community nor the thousands of commuters who drive past their store daily. This morning they allow an 18 wheeler delivery truck to block one full lane of traffic...literally at the intersection of Falls and Northern Parkway... at 730am causing a 2 mile back up on Falls Road...there are 2 public schools and 5 private schools whose students were late...commuting was horrendous...there were 3 fender benders...and here's the best part... I call up and speak with some arrogant snotty cold and unapologetic woman who not only refuses to acknowledge how selfish and rude and dangerous tjis is and was....but tells me maybe i should have left earlier or taken a different route...i was flabbergasted by her ignorance and arrogance... DO NOT FREQUENT THIS BUSINESS EVER...OVERPRICED AND UNPROFESSIONAL AND TERRIBLE MEMBER OF COMMIUNITY. read more

It's rare to have a nursery in the city & I'm glad we found this in our community! A coworker & I stopped in on our lunch break one afternoon. We were purchasing herbs for our local office garden. I was pleasantly surprised with the wide selection of plants. (We picked out 4 different types of basil!) Kathleen, the friendly sales clerk, personally walked us around the greenhouse aiding our selection. So many plants. Price is comparable to other nurseries. They even had bonsai starters - which I've never seen at other nurseries.

So this place is conveniently located and has some nice plants. They're not organized in way that makes finding what you need easy, though, and they're extremely expensive by comparison to the same plants bought at other local nurseries - even plants that you can also get, say, at someplace like a big box home improvement store. My best experience here was in getting a very nice red Scotch broom, and probably my worst was paying about 5 times what my local Lowe's charged for the same Knock Out rose bush. They're nice enough, but all the same... don't go here for things you can get anywhere, and if you have time, it's worth driving to Watson's or Valley View. read more
