My grandmother passed away on April 26th and prior to her passing, I did extensive research on funeral homes and mortuaries within the valley. I read hundreds of reviews and made many calls and Hansen just felt right. We selected Hansen to be who we would use when the need arose. A few weeks later, my grandmother peacefully slipped away. Her hospice team made contact with Hansen Desert Hills and the process was seamless and professional. Two days after her passing, we went to the Desert Hills location to make arrangements with Cami. Nothing felt pressured or sales-driven, as we had experienced years prior at another funeral home when my grandfather passed away. We had many variables at play, including a burial trust and plans for an out of state interment, and Cami navigated everything perfectly and expertly. We also interacted with Charlii the receptionist during this process and she was wonderful as well. We picked my grandmother's remains up the following week and had a lovely walk through Hansen's memorial garden. It was all very peaceful and again, just felt right. I'm sorry if you have a need for a mortuary, but Hansen took great care of us.

Words truly can't express the compassion they showed or the care they took in making sure our family was okay every step of the way. I am especially thankful for the attentive and heartfelt care from Trish, Cami, Larae, Marcela, and Wendi. Molly, the comfort dog, was also a blessing to have around and gave us the extra comfort we needed during such a difficult time. During one of the hardest times in our lives, they treated us with kindness, dignity, and respect. We will always be grateful.

Friday Dec 19th, marked two years since my sister passed away. I went to this cemetery with my…read moredaughter to visit her grave--an already incredibly emotional and painful moment. As my daughter and I were getting into our car at approximately 5:45 p.m. to leave, a security truck pulled up beside us and shined a bright spotlight directly into our vehicle. I rolled my window down and was immediately yelled at and aggressively ordered to leave. When I asked why he was yelling, the guard claimed he "knew me," said I was "always here," and that I should know the rules. This was completely untrue--I had not been able to visit in months--but regardless, nothing justified his behavior. When I asked for his name, he refused and would only identify himself as "security." He continued yelling and told me to "get the hell out of here." As I attempted to leave, he backed his vehicle behind mine and turned his bright lights on, creating an intimidating and hostile situation while I was visibly emotional and crying in my car. At the gate, another security guard was present. When I asked what the hostility was about, he laughed. When I asked for their names, I was again told only "security." I paid $65,000 to lay my sister to rest here. I never imagined that visiting her grave--especially on the anniversary of her death--would result in being treated with aggression, humiliation, and a complete lack of compassion. I reached out to West Resthaven's General Manager, Chris Hopkins, to report what happened. While he said he was sorry, he minimized the situation by stating that security is necessary and that it may have just been an "off day" for them. I told him that I now feel afraid to return to visit my sister because I do not feel safe. His response was deeply disappointing. I am sharing this so other families are aware. Cemeteries should be places of peace, compassion, and respect for those who are grieving. Last night, this place was none of those things. This is not okay, and it is not a safe or appropriate environment for anyone mourning the loss of a loved one.

While we already had a mortuary in mind, we had no idea which cemetery to use. I set up a bunch of meetings and planned visits within the days right after my mother had passed, and I was quite disappointed with most of those we visited. I experienced poor customer service, a cemetery that didn't see very well kept, an inconvenient place to visit or some other issue. When I came across Paradise Memorial Gardens, I was extremely pleased with how well they communicated, their excellent customer service, and the layout and ease of visiting the cemetery. I had reached out to Dan and quickly heard back from him. I had told him what exactly we were looking for in terms of a location, stone, and service, and he certainly rose to the occasion to ensure that we had the date and time of the funeral and later an unveiling. He explained the prices and answered many questions that my family members and I had asked. Dan was responsive whether we were connecting right before the funeral or in the months that followed when planning an unveiling. For such a stressful time, I was pleased to have someone we made a connection with to reach out to. The actual Paradise Memorial Gardens cemetery is laid out nicely. Instead of other cemeteries where stones are all sticking up out of the ground, many of the stones are flat on the ground where they blend in with the nature. My mother's stone is near a big tree, which provides some shade when I visit her in hotter months. There is a small lake where swans and Canadian geese like to roam. For an interesting story, ask the staff about the swans. There is also a heated and air-conditioned mausoleum onsite which I had been in only once when a friend passed away a number of years ago. There is plenty of parking on the side of the single street that circles the site. There are two entrances, one off of Shea Blvd and the other off 92nd Street. While I didn't use them, I heard good things about the Messinger Mortuaries, which is directly tied to the Paradise Memorial Gardens. I certainly encourage anyone looking for a cemetery (and possibly a mortuary) to check them out.

We lost Baxter at 4:30pm on March 8th...Sunday Night. It happened in front of us, just collapsed,…read morewe lost his running-mate a year ago. Later that night I composed myself enough to start doing research our best option to handle Baxter best...however that wasn't available to us, because they didn't have to put him down. So I started fresh.. I looked at YELPS top 10...settled on a few at the top to do better research, you know the ones that don't give perfect 5 Stars 3's 4's...which you can probably trust them as much as you can the 1 & 5's but that's what I was doing. After finding to many negatives at the top places...I landed on #16, I know...who would chose them. I did, I liked the reviews I saw...glad I did. I called, Rachel answered...I became an expert in my research so she answered the questions that were important to me. Can you come by in the Morning (24/7 btw) and they could first thing. I had a few more questions (hesitations considering another Pet Place or two), she got back to me within 10 minutes...answer my questions...she said Greg would contact me in the morning, I asked about what they would pick him up in, he's a bigger dog. She said, a Camary (well I knew that was a car and would not work especially if they would put him in the trunk or something. Greg showed up on time, and guess what...it was a Camary, he was going in the trunk and I was more than anxious, pissed?...But she assured me he would fit VERY comfortably...Greg opened his trunk of his beautiful air condition Camary and I heard harp music as my fear left me..it was one of the biggest trunks I had seen, and my 85lb dog fit more than comfortably...the service just got better from there, hence the 5-Stars. 5-STARS WHY? Rachel was very warm, caring and considerate...very responsive to my questions. Greg, was even more-so, and that blew us away. My wife was a wreck she got Baxter from a rescue, so she's been there through it all. She LOVED everything about Greg! It takes special people to do this business right...2 of them (at the least) work at LEASH. They were outstanding, I asked all the questions (and more), questions that you will probably will ask...and they were perfect! Greg also has a Harley...my wife asked if he would bring Baxter back on the Harley...don't ask lol...Baxter loved car rides...never road a Harley. Greg didn't hesitate, he said you bet...and he did. Greg kept in constant contact with us, I'd ask a question and he would get back to me pretty much right away...he let us know when he would be bringing Baxter back and right on que Rachel texted me a couple days before to let me know. We got the Gold Package, which included a Paw Print (which obviously is a must) it wasn't plaster like my dogs from 12 yrs ago, it was plastic of some sort, but it was very realistic, so I know it was our dogs print...which now I can't say that about my plaster ones for sure, : / but we both said to each other, "I Really Like These"...my wife said she loved them. The Gold Package ran us $425, and because of LEASH we had a great peace of mind that he was handled with respect and care. We recommend LEASH with all our hearts!
