When I received the call, they had my mother's body, I was relieved and knew my mother would be handled with care, dignity and respect. Maria, worked with us and explained everything in detail during our appointment. She showed professionalism and compassion towards us during this very difficult and unexpected time. Advantage Crystal Rose Funeral Home & Cremation, is for everyone. They treated her daughters and granddaughter with a gentle hand of kindness during this final arrangement visit. We left our mom with staff members that did a job well done. Death for most of us is not something we think about daily. I didn't know where to go, but faithfully, I believe God guided me to this facility. The price and services we selected were fair in my opinion. I highly recommend this funeral home facility/location. Thank you to everyone there who helped my mom get back home!

My grandmother passed away on April 26th and prior to her passing, I did extensive research on funeral homes and mortuaries within the valley. I read hundreds of reviews and made many calls and Hansen just felt right. We selected Hansen to be who we would use when the need arose. A few weeks later, my grandmother peacefully slipped away. Her hospice team made contact with Hansen Desert Hills and the process was seamless and professional. Two days after her passing, we went to the Desert Hills location to make arrangements with Cami. Nothing felt pressured or sales-driven, as we had experienced years prior at another funeral home when my grandfather passed away. We had many variables at play, including a burial trust and plans for an out of state interment, and Cami navigated everything perfectly and expertly. We also interacted with Charlii the receptionist during this process and she was wonderful as well. We picked my grandmother's remains up the following week and had a lovely walk through Hansen's memorial garden. It was all very peaceful and again, just felt right. I'm sorry if you have a need for a mortuary, but Hansen took great care of us.

Words truly can't express the compassion they showed or the care they took in making sure our family was okay every step of the way. I am especially thankful for the attentive and heartfelt care from Trish, Cami, Larae, Marcela, and Wendi. Molly, the comfort dog, was also a blessing to have around and gave us the extra comfort we needed during such a difficult time. During one of the hardest times in our lives, they treated us with kindness, dignity, and respect. We will always be grateful.

I have worked in Sales and trust me, the previous funeral homes we visited prior to Red Mountain Funeral Home either had a sales pitch or just did not feel right for us. McClain was very empathetic in this time of need. He listened to us and gave us the options based on what we discussed. Never did he upsell anything. He heard exactly what we wanted and matched up the service they could offer us. In our particular situation we had to have an intimate family viewing prior to the cremation process. It was amazing how they made my sister look as she was napping while we made our last goodbye! I truly appreciate RMFH for giving us the best farewell to baby sis I could have had! RIP Barbie Gonzalez, I LOVE YOU!!! You will never be forgotten and you'll always be part of the family's story!!! When we are born, we are born into a race called life. In life we never have a set starting point and our finish line is always different from person to person. At a very early age we always pit ourselves with others we respect or we want to be like or a legend who is no longer in the race. We never are told the rules of the race. While being green in this race we sometimes are taken advantage of and learn right away or make the same mistake a few times before we learn. While others may have more shelter and are not allowed to learn the rules of life until much later down the road. Throughout this race we see others who are struggling. Some of us are out here to help from the get while others are more tentative to help or arrogant and refuse to help. These are all part of our race and learn the playbook as we go. Throughout this marathon we learn from the miles we put in and make the tweaks to become smarter/efficient! Some are quicker than others at becoming smarter/efficient and some learn at a later stage of the race. This race is hard and we somehow push through to continue racking up our miles. Maybe some quit the race and are not seen again. As we encounter the entire spectrum of feeling we advance on this race, some of us are lucky to either find the "family" we want to surround ourselves with or even luckier yet have the family that we want to be around! Once we have our family and fellow racers in our pack, we race until we can no longer race! Some of us will know as we approach the finish line while others are snatched away from the race without notice. In your personal race, I beg you to acknowledge what and who you care for and let them know! This sometimes beautiful cruel race absorbs us without our knowledge and we do not give praise soon enough!

My mother had prepaid for a policy in California to cremate her remains. McClain and Bridget were very helpful with this issue and it basically covered everything. There are…read moregrassy areas and also in the newer areas it is still dirt where they are starting to bury people. We always get really good service and everyone is understanding. The only thing is that I realize catholic cemeteries want to keep the grounds looking clean and wish they would have several more trash cans out, especially for Dia de los Muertos. Please only take away flowers on the said due dates given. I have never had an issue with that but did read that someone experienced that. They may be exaggerating. I love Holy Cross and the rules and regulations to keep the area looking tidy. After all, it could be like the non catholic cemeteries where decorations are kept up months after celebrations are over. Other cemeteries look unkept and messy with all trash from decorations flying around.

When you are at your most vulnerable it's hard to ask questions that you probably don't even think…read moreabout asking when you're planning the funeral of a loved one. I will start with the pros: It's a Catholic Cemetery, It has a beautiful chapel where you can hold your service with a catholic deacon. The executive looking conference rooms are nicely appointed with baskets of snacks and water (because you're planning could take at least 2 hours). The front desk ladies are friendly and helpful. Our coordinator was sweet and pleasant and experienced. And was able to navigate our family drama with so much care. Our loved one was respectfully taken care of. They offer a video with photos that they can play before the service on TV's in the chapel. Okay, the CONS: The grounds are completely unacceptable. NO GREEN GRASS! It looks like a third world cemetery, dust, dirt, yellow dead "grass"-. For the amount of money that you pay for a service and to be on holy grounds? Ugh, it's sad and angering. Especially if you're loved one already paid for the plot...so you really have no choice. But if you have enough money, you have lots of choices. The cemetery on Van Buren and like 27th ave is green and beautiful with lots of trees, it's not a Catholic cemetery, but I would have loved if our dearly departed would have chosen another cemetery. But all of her friends are buried here so at least they are in heaven enjoying each other and not in this dust bowl. When you order the marble headstone. It is literally still a rock stuck inside a mountain in Italy! Well, at least it must be because they told us it would take 8-10 months for it to be delivered!!!! WHAT THE ....??? Yes, that's what I said. TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE. Are you telling me that there are no local businesses that can provide a headstone? And we didn't order some giant moseleum, European statue looking tombstone! It was a small plaque to go on the ground! So yes, that part will annoy you too. But if you are smart and read my review you won't go into a state of shock when they tell you the bad news. Another CON: The Spanish speaking Deacon doesn't speak Spanish very well. it was hard to understand him. Also, he did not have the courtesy to talk to all of the family members when trying to get an idea of who he was eulogizing. He only spoke to one angry bitter disgusting member of the family who had nothing but terrible things to say about our deceased loved one. So the eulogy included..."She was not a perfect person...but none of us are!" Who says that? This was extremely upsetting for our family. Another con: they do not have a website where the will post an obituary or photo. Well, that's enough bantering. I just pray my loved one is resting peacefully in heaven and praying over me so I don't lose my sanity over the shenanigans of this funeral home!

Normally I have this long story of what's what but figured I just give the meat & potatoes. Here are the pluses of using Best Funeral Services in Peoria. 1. Pricing is so low you gotta lay on the floor to see it. 2. Cutting to the chase and no pressure buying. 3. Accommodations for specifics are made and available. 4. Communication is great. Cons: 1. We "accidentally " were mistaken for another family and another persons death folder was brought into office so we got to know the name of the other decedent when signing final forms. 2. Front office staff may make an error with pricing changes (after the fact of being told another price) they wanted to charge us more - but because I have funeral knowledge- I was able to catch her mistake and get things corrected at time of payment. ----- Lastly, please know while ALL funeral homes empathize and sympathize with the decendents family; they are a BUSINESS for profit. So asking questions at the initial start of paperwork as far as pricing, hidden pricing and adjustments should always be talked about. Hints for those families on a budget: 1. Caskets and urns can always be purchased outside of a funeral home. - For burying; ask the mortuary - what caskets brands they will accept. 2. Embalming prolongs your loved one's body from breaking down. This costs more and is not necessary if you are having a 3 hour viewing. 3. Funeral homes will ask if you want to "view" your loved one while in their care to verify them. This will cost more. Viewing your loved one isn't necessary- all paperwork, tags and numbers will match. This is simply a way for them to get more money. 4. Lots of hidden pricing adds up. When sitting in front of the initial funeral sales-person going over your desires, make sure to ask "how much does that cost" as to not get stuck with hidden fees. 5. Never tell a funeral home how much money you have to spend. They are trained to sell and use specific verbiage to work your emotions-therefore it is always best to send someone who knows what you want-but that has a clear head and is not emotionally unstable. Ok, overall - Best Funeral Services was great. They handled everything wonderfully and because I was able to stand in and had the knowledge to ask the correct questions - things were easy. P.S. I am still awaiting my father's death certificate which the funeral home will charge you to get it. Hopefully I can update once received. 1 star missing due to the cons. Sending my condolences to you and yours and hope for those who are reading this to know that death is a part of life & when it's my turn - I'll be happy to know - In Jesus Christ - I will not die; but instead live. Peace to you.
