This is a review no one wants to write. At least the experience was good. We worked with Amy. She was nice and answered all of our questions. Kept in contact with us throughout the entire process. My mother wanted to be cremated. Amy walked us through the cremation services, explained the fees in a way we would understand, and made sure we had good understand of the events. When it was time to pick up our mother's remains, it was staged beautifully. I can't really speak to value as this is our first time walking through this process. Hopefully we won't have to do this again anytime soon. read more

Thompson Funeral Chapel was very compassionate and easy to work with. Amy helped us after my father passed away and took care of every detail which helped a lot. My dad and I had gone in a few years back to preplan everything and worked with Errol who had made sure everything was in place so that when the time came I only had to make one phone call to get everything taken care of. Amy had all the records and dad's wishes so it made everything very easy knowing that exactly what dad had wanted was in place, ready to go. Their pricing was very reasonable and we were given details of everything offered along with the price for every option, which was very helpful. I would definitely recommend Thompson Funeral Chapel if you are pre planning or if your loved one has passed. They made a difficult time much easier. read more

Scott has been wonderful to work with! From our first meeting the day after my husband died thru multiple follow-ups to ensure each detail was well managed. He was a wealth of information...helpful, respectful, patient, and efficient. They have a concierge service! My husband's ashes were delivered to my home versus having me drive yo the Funeral Chapel to pick them up. This is definitely not a review I'd love to make, but I am so thankful for the love and care Thompson Funeral Chapel handled with my father's viewing and all that went with it. As you would expect you would hope for the best care of any loved one when going through their passing and compassion is one of the things you hope for. We were told in advance what to expect and when we arrived everything was ready. Some of our family chose to wait in the lobby which was comfortable, clean, and offered refreshments. There's a small chapel of course and some nice fountains outside to help you feel you're somewhere other than next to a busy road. My father was so well taken care of and after the viewing I felt peace. Which I definitely wasn't expecting before hand. Saying goodbye to a loved one is so very hard. They made me feel so much better, answered every question I had and left me feeling at ease for the first time since his passing. We were given all the time needed to say goodbye in a nice, private and quiet room away from all distractions. read more

This place completely took advantage of my elderly parents. They overcharge and upsell EVERYTHING. Everything was very thrown together at the last minute and it showed. Do NOT use their florist. Go elsewhere for less than half the price for better quality. We used Payne and Morrison. Order your own guest book and cards from zazzle. If you plan on having ANY refreshments don't count on their "cookies" unless you want random rainbow chip in a small quantity. The place itself has recently been cheaply redone with plastic plants and painted over nails. The slide show is outsourced to a web based company. The ONLY positives were that my mother looked great, the lady that does the web design and the lady that was there at the actual service. Aaron is condescending and tries to come across empathetic to upsell his products and services. Save your money and STAY CLEAR!! read more

I buried my dad today and since Day 1 the staff at Thompson's has been very good with my family and I. Everything went flawlessly and smoothly during the funeral service to today's burial. I just wanna give a humongous thanks to the entire staff of this Funeral Chapel starting with Sean who gave us a head start to Larry for finishing what Sean started. The staff went above and beyond to make sure everything went as my mother had planned for my dad. Thank you again to Larry for making sure the horse drawn hearse happened, my dad loved horses. Everything was truly beautiful and thank you for the cake given to my mom. The service was so excellent, I've already told my family that when it's my turn to go, I want Thompson Funeral Chapel to take care of everything just as they did today. Again, thank you. Lost my step son in Feb this year (2018). We live in Florida. As his father, he had to sign the cremation papers but in return, they refused to give us his death certificate. He was told he'd receive a portion of his ashes as well. Months go by and still nothing. We received no death certificate either. When we called to ask, the lady there seemed to have taken sides with my husband's ex wife's story that we didn't attend his funeral. She also directs us to a website where we'd have to buy his death certificate because she will not give us a copy. This place pre-judged my husband and believed the BS stories his ex told them. So they became biased towards us. Meanwhile, they used my husband to get a signature to make all this money on cremating his son. We had our own ceremony here at home in Florida where this boy was born & raised and all his friends and family. read more

My dad passed away, and since I wasn't the POA it didn't matter to them any of my wishes, since I wasn't paying the bill. I was pretty much dismissed during the whole viewing. The ladies at the funeral home were only concerned with me, not my feelings when they needed me to sign the paperwork, then they pretty much dismissed me. All their attention went to the POA and the person that was paying the bill. I will unfortunately always remember this as part of my dad's passing - not what I want to remember. read more

Disappointed. We did not get our mother's two rings back as we requested. They offered to give our family a wedding set that was not hers. They assured us those rings were on her fingers and three staff observed them being removed. However, it was not her wedding ring nor the ring on her amputated pinky finger. It cost us $485 for them to transport her body less that 3 miles. We do not recommend them. read more

They were awesome in coordinating with the funeral home I am using in another state for the service. It's one of those necessities in life that you just can't avoid. Perhaps you're one of the lucky ones that hasn't had to see death firsthand or deal with the proceedings of a funeral. Unfortunately, this was the second funeral I've had to organize in less than 2 years. First my stepfather and my mother this month. It's sad but a part of life and you need skilled and caring people to take care of real world issues during your loss. Sean Thompson and his loyal employees are simply wonderful people. They have managed to put together a warm and welcoming place for people who have the misfortune of having to arrange a funeral for a loved one. There is a meeting room where Sean can explain your various burial options and handle most of the paperwork that is associated with this sort of thing. He is so helpful and does most of the work for you at a time when nothing else seems to matter, especially paperwork. He has a natural warmth and comforting way about him and is a natural for this line of work. There is also a chapel where a minister or spiritual leader of your choice can perform a service that best suites you. It is well-equipped with whatever you need for comfort. It's one of those businesses you only hope to avoid but it's good to know who the "good guys" are if you're in need. I cannot say enough kind words about these people, they are simply wonderful. read more

Simply Cremations (an affiliate of Thompson's) handled the cremation of our father with nothing short of incompetence. They "ensured" us they would handle EVERYTHING for his cremation and subsequent burial in NY....they did nothing more than collect money and cremate him. We had to coordinate EVERYTHING on our own. 1. They delayed returning our loved ones remains to us until they had a flag to give us (WWII veteran)...which they had already given us on the day we made the initial arrangements. 2. They misinformed the cemetery about size of the hole that they needed to dig for the internment, as we were having it placed in a vault, leaving this to be changed on the day of the service as we all waited in the cold, pouring rain for the confusion to be cleared up. 3. THE MOST INCOMPETENT OF MISHAPS being the failure to tell us dividing his ashes into separate urns for family members (add-ons they encourage you to buy) would have led to us to not being able to bury PARTIAL REMAINS at the national cemetery. Through a conversation with the cemetery, we were told we needed a "internment statement of divided remains" letter in order to bury him. If we had not discovered this on our own, the cemetery would have denied his burial. Can you imagine? How do they sell these keepsake urns and divide ashes and not know this may cause an issue with burial? EPIC FAILURE! I would not let this facility bury a rabid dog that had to be put down. When you are at your lowest, after suffering the loss of a loved one, you expect the people you hire to handle the remains/burial to do their job with competence, dignity and compassion.
