DO NOT USE THIS FUNERAL HOME OR PAY IN ADVANCE FOR SERVICES!!!! My experience with this company was horrible. My father passed away and he had prepaid for his cremation. There were some complications because my Dad died in the emergency room and had not seen his doctor there were issues getting his death certificate signed. My issue with the Avenidas was that the whole time this was going on they did not reach out to communicate to me at all. I had to call them to find out what was going on. I left text messages that were never returned. I continually had to call them for updates. At the same time Kevin on several occasions would make statements basically putting the blame on my Dad for not seeing his doctor. UNACCEPTABLE. I was grieving his loss and to be made to feel about bad how all this worked out was not ok. It took over a month and a half to have my Dad cremated. The only time I had a return call was when I asked to speak to the owner (Which I was passed over to Kevin who is not the owner) and when I reached out to the county to get their help getting his death certificate signed. I was called to be told "we finally found someone to sign the death certificate" which was a call from Kevin. Then when I came to pick up my Dad's ashes I was only given one urn and had to remind them of the other Urns we had left. One other thing that really bothered me was I called to find out if my dad had been cremated and the person had no idea or even where my dad's body was at that point. Unprofessional. The experience overall was a disaster. Not to mention the licenses on the wall of the business are expired. All I asked for the whole time was communication and I didn't get it. Some of the things that happen where out of Kevin's control but communication was always something he could and should have provided. When someone is grieving or trying to grieve that is the one thing that is needed. To not even know where the body is again is unacceptable. Unprofessional. read more

I highly recommend Miguel and his funeral home service. I have never felt the warmth and love for how they treated my mother's funeral service. We were treated like family and not just a business transaction. Miguel and his employees have empathy and provide an honest service that was affordable. I would highly recommend them if you want to have an amazing funeral service for your passed loved one. I thank you again from the bottom of my heart for how accommodating you were. read more

Back in February 2015 and again in 2024 Avenida took care of another one of our loved ones and there's no doubt in our mind that Avenidas will be the chapel we continue to use as a family. Thank you very much for your kindness and ability to provide and care for those who are in morning. Hopefully not soon, but we'll see you again lol read more

This past week, I attended a funeral serviced by Avenida's Funeral Chapel and I cannot speak highly enough of the exceptional care and professionalism they provided. The staff was courteous, attentive, compassionate, and respectful to everyone present. The reception area was thoughtfully arranged to feel like a welcoming living room, complete with a coffee bar and the soothing scent of candles filling the space. Though Avenida is a relatively new business, I would wholeheartedly recommend their services. Losing a loved one is incredibly difficult, and it's reassuring to have a funeral home that truly understands the emotional weight of such a time and goes above and beyond to support those who are grieving. After the services, Miguel was also present to greet the family and offered additional assistance. His dedication to his craft and demonstration of genuine empathy tells me he is serious about families and the care they receive. I have already shared the business card and will continue to tell others in the area who may need these services about Avenida. Respectfully, Linda Dees read more

They are liars and swindlers and take advantage of people when they are dealing with unmeasurable pain of losing someone they loved beyond measure my words could never express my pain caused by the Demons that run this terrible establishment they know that you are blinded by the pain and sadness that they can get away with just about anything and they take advantage of that every chance they get they will tell you one thing and do the exact opposite of what they promised they make promises of sunshine and rainbows and deliver storms of shit on the day you are laying your loved one to rest I am not over exaggerating AT ALL I am actually holding back it was so much worse thanks to Kyle and his way of shitting on our loved one as we pretty much tossed MY Father in the trash I could have had penny wise take care of this and gotten a better outcome read more

I cannot express the gratitude I have for Miguel and all of the staff at Avenidas Funeral Home. I was so lost on what to do, when I lost my mom. I have never had to deal with funeral arrangements, so this was all new to me. I reached out to the owner and he told me not to worry and that he and his wonderful staff would handle it. They were all so kind and patient with me. The experience was truly a special one. My mom's services were breathtaking! Bryan had creative floral arrangement ideas and they were simply HEAVENLY! I could not ask for a better guidance and arrangements. We are Truly Blessed to have used their services. I will not go anywhere else! Thank you Avenidas- Stacy Bowman read more

The instant we walked into Avenidas we were greeted by Miguel with genuine care. We were then introduced to Brenda Avila. She was the perfect mix of Compassion and professionalism. From the smallest to the largest detail, she made it happen. Brenda exceeded our expectations! In our darkest moments, Brenda made things easy & guided us through everything with such kindness. She explained things so gently, things that we would have never even thought about. Brenda handled outside entities that completely lacked empathy, with such a calm demeanor & managed every detail beautifully! I could not ask for better. She not only took care of us, she took such care of My Mom. Helping us every step of the way to make My Mama's Farewell, Beautiful and Memorable. Because of Brenda, I would highly recommend Avenidas. read more

My sister passed unexpectedly June 17th. It all happened so fast and was a strain. Both of my parents had already passed and I had experience with their arrangements but it didn't make the task of making arrangements for my sister any easier. All of the staff at Avenidas was very helpful and kept things very simple. Briana made it all very easy for me. I was overwhelmed in knowing in the back of my mind that this was my last reigning family member, that this was it. I cannot tell you the amt of weight and emotional devastation that this has had on me,..this one really flattened me. Avenidas is very no nonsense and simple and very caring. I couldn't have asked for a better situation in which to honor my sister. read more

The loss of a loved one can cause such a rollercoaster of emotions. From the moment we met Miguel, we felt warmth and compassion and oddly - a sense of protection. Miguel introduced us to Brenda and she was the most compassionate human with the drive to make everything perfect for my mama and she did. Her keen eye for details, strong communication, and ability to lead a negative situation into a positive direction was nothing short of amazing. In a bout with another organization, she took the reigns and guided us through each process with beautiful results. Avenidas - you are our extended family. Our matriarch was laid to rest this weekend and the exemplary care you showed to my mother, myself, and my sister during our most vulnerable moments is such a blessing. Thank you just doesn't do it read more

The staff and owner at Avenidas Funeral Chapel were very professional, friendly, personable, extremely caring and helpful while they helped us to honor and bury my 16 year old, middle son. The pricing was very affordable and we felt our son was well taken care of. I would highly recommend them to anyone. Thank you, Avenidas, for everything you did for our son and for us. We appreciate you so much. Rest in heaven, my Desmond. read more

My mother was on hospice, so we knew that the time was approaching to make her final arrangements. I chose Avenidas. They were prompt and they did everything we needed for a simple cremation. The price was phenomenal and I was able to use the urn I had purchased on Etsy. My family and I recommend their services. read more

The staff was very helpful during a time, when support was needed in making the final arrangements for my mother, who passed away unexpectedly after colon cancer surgery. And, I feel their prices for cremation are excellent. However, there were a couple of things that cause me not to give them a 5 Star rating. One, was my appointment time. I arrived about 3 minutes ahead of schedule, and when I walked in, I thought that I had walked into the wrong place, as there were a lot of people standing, and sitting around. But, instead of being subdued, as benefiting a Funeral Chapel, they were carrying on like it was a party. And, the receptionist was dressed in sweats and a PINK sweat top. Now, I don't expect formal business dress in Arizona. But, sweats? A bit too causal for the environment (if she's cold, wear a suitable jacket). Also, they need to schedule their appointments a little better to reduce the risk of overlap, as happened here. read more

From the first inquiry call the staff was kind and compassionate yet thorough and informative. Sitting down to make resting arrangements for my mom was so difficult but Brianna was so kind and comforting. She asked so many questions to get an idea of who my mom was. The staff truly and sincerely care for the families they help. GOD bless them. read more

From the first phone call with Brianna. I felt like she answered my questions and understanding of how hard it was to make this final decision of how to take care of my son Maximus. Octavio when I came in took time to sit and connect with me over my sons true passion music. He reassured me how they were like a family. This job this business means so much more to him. He helps families make the final choices for their loved ones. It was unexpected to have my son pass away. Today again talking with Kyle about ordering urns and death certificate. The time in which they take to verify and discuss your options. I don't have enough words to say thank you. Brianna thank you for your time today. Octavio thank you for listening to me and talking about Max's music. You all helped me to feel secure in my choices for honoring my son. read more

I would like to thank Brian for making this easy and smooth for us. He was exceptional and answered all of our questions and even showed up on his day off to host our service. God bless you Brian. read more

Wonderful customer service and no pushy sales. Even though they were very busy I didn't have to wait long on my three visits (to make arrangements, to pick up ashes, and to pick up death certificates). The costs were very reasonable and I'm very glad that the hospice social worker suggested them. read more

We recently had a death in our family and I just wanted to share how A-mazing the staff at Avenidas was. They were so flexible, kind, and compassionate. Our church families (Christ Temple) have used Avenidas Funeral Chapel for many funerals and cremations (Memorial services) over the past several years. I recommended them to a family within the last year and asked the family how it went. She had met with Briana and told me it went "Better than her expectations." This week we buried my husband's step father and I personally dealt with Briana. She responded quickly with emails, phone calls when needed and was very prompt with all communication. We had purchased a prepaid plan and everything went very smoothly. We had a Veteran's cemetery burial and everything at the cemetery was set up by Avenidas. The funeral director, Kyle, brought the casket to the church and was very professional. My husband and I were both not only pleased and happy with the services but highly recommend them for their reasonable prices, exemplary service and professionalism. read more

After going through the passing of our loved one, Avenidas Funeral Chapel was extremely professional and gracious in the process, paperwork and service. Everything went smoothly and was perfect for such a somber day. Thank you specifically to Toleran for making the experience as easy and comforting as could be. This place is an absolute God send. It has been a very difficult time for me and my mother having just lost the only family we have, my grandfather. After a slew of bad luck and bad encounters with a few businesses, that will remain nameless, we finally found Avenidas Funeral Chapel. We went from being distraught & numb in tears to a much needed feeling of comfort & solace. These guys are nothing short of amazing. The owners name is Miguel, he not only goes above and beyond what's expected but prides himself on it (as does his staff). The level of sincerity from these people is beyond anything I could put into words. They spent almost 2 hours with us and covered every single detail, concern or question we had. When we left we were actually smiling knowing my grandfather was in good hands and in a place he would've felt like family at, just like we did. Miguel, Brandon and anyone I didn't get the name of at Avenidas....THANK YOU! read more

This is a great, family owned and operated funeral home that was very honest, transparent and trustworthy when we had to make arrangements for my mother who recently passed away. The owners are always available to speak with you, their packages are clearly and thoroughly written on their website and their staff was very helpful during the services. They are also very affordable and willing to work with you. I would highly recommend them to the public. read more

I don't even know where to start but our entire experience was terrible. We had an appointment, after waiting for 30 minutes a guy said were running behind do you mind if we do this out here. ( in the waiting room). So the lady that takes care of the bodies came and helped us. She was very nice. When we got home we looked at the receipt and it was for the wrong person and they were shipping my mom to Mexico . Called the mortuary , he said it was a computer problem. Don't worry we have the right information right here. I called a week later to check to see if I could pick up my moms ashes. I was told she was still there and they are waiting on paper work. I did get up set and told the guy we signed all the paper work. He immediately got very defensive and told me to refer to the green folder we got. I tried to explain we never got one, he basically called me a liar . Said everyone gets them, I tried to tell him to go ask that gal that took care of us. He said he will not do that, and I better calm down. I said would you be calm if this was your mother. So he said read your green folder we have 9 days so if you don't like it I will credit your money back and  you can bring your mom somewhere else. Which then I got pissed off and asked him what kind of business he is running . He hung up on me, then calls back and tells me to look at my contract . Once again I told him we never got a contract. Anyway my sister contacted John, (who originally talked to us on the phone), they immediately took my mom for cremation and called six hours later to tell us to come get her ashes. Terrible experience to have to go threw when your emotions are already out of control. But to have the owner of this mortuary to talk to a paying customer that way, he should not be in this business . Sent from my iPad read more

My father's passing was sudden and brought so much heartache. I flew from Los Angeles to be with our family where my father lived in Tolleson, AZ. The hospital provided us with a laundry list of local places we could call for cremation services. I was unfamiliar with the area and just started dialing. The first place I called (close proximity) was Avenidas. I spoke to Miguel and from the moment we began our conversation,I knew it was the right place. He was so calm, kind, and easy to talk to when it came to what they offered. Working in a field where I have to make courtesy calls for people in my situation, I had experienced this same call a hundred times over in California. Having said that, I knew from experience that I was dealing with people who genuinely cared for their clients. My sister and I came in and spoke to Octavio. When we drove up to the location, I took one look at the business and knew I had made the right choice. It was a small, homey, warm, local spot in the old town part of the neighborhood.. a neighborhood that reminded me of my dad. Octavio walked us through the paperwork and the process with ease. He had a way of helping us relax as he took the time and care to put together our cremation plan. Miguel had earlier provided us with a (very affordable) rate on the phone and I was pleased to be informed by Octavio that there were no hidden surprises. We spoke with Octavio briefly about their business as most things are too good to be true. Octavio explained to us the pride their small business took in involving themselves with the community as closely as possible at the most affordable rate. All in all, the cremation process was smooth and my fathers ashes were cared for and sent home with us within a week. Thank you all! Our family appreciates your kindness and selflessness! read more
