I (unknowingly) tried on a funny kid's hat to show the person I was traveling with. This happened to be right in front of the door to the back room of the store. A woman saw me doing this and very rudely told me that I was "stretching it out and needed to take it off." I admitted to what I thought was an honest mistake and apologized. I was then glared at and made feel uncomfortable as I was trying to get away, as I didn't want the woman to see that she had made me cry. Avoid this place at all costs. I'd give it 0 stars but that is not an option. My wife purchased a pair of pants that appearEd to run small. My wife asked for the dressing room to try them on but they do not have a dressing rooms. Woman at the counter said you can take them home try them on and if they do not fit they can be returned the next day. She did not mention for store credit only, which is the case. We showed up the next day to exchange the item but the larger size was out of stock. We then requested a refund but they only offered store credit as an option. Very disappointed with their customer care. Some businesses are willing to jeopardize customer satisfaction for a sale, and this business is one of them! read more

What a cute shop! The clothes are super high quality and in the same price range as the cheap boardwalk shops. They also have ocean themed jewelry and statues and such. The girl at the register was very sweet. I will make this a regular stop for sure! read more

Great shop! We visit every year on vacation and they always have new things! They have a lot of funny shirts and some nice regular Cape May shirts. I also love the fact that they have so many shirts in larger sizes! It is pretty small inside but there is a lot to see! read more

PROS: They have an interesting and unique selection of t-shirts, hats and some other novelties at Great White. Prices are pretty fair and overall quality is good, probably better than the standard novelty t-shirt you get on the boardwalk. The lady working in the back near the children's section was pretty helpful when I needed to figure out what size and even offered to let us try on the shirt. Plus, when we made our purchase the nice cashier (another lady) gave my daughter a "free" shark tattoo which she loved. CONS: There was a male staffer lingering around the entrance and he seemed to be eyeing everyone that came in (possibly to assess the shoplifting threat?). He was not very subtle about it and was still there watching when we were leaving. More annoying, there were signs posted everywhere that you are not allowed to take cell phones pictures of any of the merchandise. If I am making a purchase or even just contemplating one, that is just ridiculous. Especially since a lot of their "clever" t-shirt slogans are pictured on the store's website. I am one of those laid back shoppers that likes to browse in peace until I need help, yet between the door watcher and the rule signs, I just wanted to get in and out. read more

Bought 3 shirts from this shop, 3 long sleeve t shirts for the fall. Both very cool,one with cape may down the sleeve, the other with cape May map, and another with a shark on the back. Staff was helpful to find a certain design. I think they have a different selection than the dreary old t shirt shops that litter all over Cape May read more

Being a native from the Garden State I have seen my fair share of rude people. I have never however, been asked to leave a store let alone"souvenir tee shirt shop" because we had a baby in a stroller. Once my family and I entered into the Great White Shark Outlet we were immediately greeted by what seemed to be a raging shop owner. She began pointing at my child in the stroller and stating "this is not allowed in here! " "I'm gonna have to ask you to take this out of the store." "we don't have room to accommodate this" " the fire Marshall just told me" your gonna have to bring that outside." All the while my child sat in her single stroller. I the confused mom ask her " what is not allowed in the store?" She snarkly remarked and again pointing and waving her finger at my daughter "THAT STROLLER!!!" YOUR gonna have to take that out of HERE !" Me: "Are you serious?" Her: YES I'm very serious you can call the fire Marshall yourself! " What??? Your store cannot accommodate young children unable to walk? What about a disabled young child/children unable to walk? What about anyone who has a disability? This is discrimination. Not a way to promote sales or treat anyone. This should have been handled with much more professionalism, compassion, and dignity. We were humiliated and belittled. read more

Terrible experience over the weekend. The store manager reprimanded my son for playing with a toy and upset him. I asked her to approach me instead of speaking to him in a harsh tone. She was snarky and said I was too busy with my other children. She then slammed her office door in my face. I have never been so disrespected. I will never shop in this store again and will encourage others not to as well. read more

Unfortunately, our visit to the Great White Shark store ruined our most recent experience in Cape May. Two of the staff members, one of which was a manager, were noticeably watching me, my wife and our children. Our children were even scolded for touching the toys (which were at child level on the shelves). It was very uncomfortable so we walked out. My wife went back in to ask the manager to address concerns about children with the parents before scolding them. The manager replied with comments I would rather not repeat here, and slammed the door to the back corner office on my wife. Very poor customer service from the top level down. read more
