The food was not good at all. They advertise prime rib on the dinner buffet...no way that was prime rib it was WAY overcooked tough roast beef. They advertise crab on the dinner buffet...they were little whole crabs smaller than your hand that have no meat and are impossible to eat. They also advertised there are ribs and steak on the buffet for dinner..there were none! The fried and whole head shrimp disintegrated when I tried to eat them. There were not many people there so everything had been sitting awhile and was not fresh. It was a total waste of money and I felt deceived by the advertising. read more

Horrible experience. Stopped by for lunch. I waited for a person to seat me which took quite a bit of time. Then I proceeded to to get my plate. Upon returning to my table I noticed that my soy sauce bottle was empty. I reached over to the unoccupied table next to me to retrieve a full bottle. It was at that point that the inattentive waiter looked at me and said "no". He took the bottle from my hand without a word and walked away. I was dumbfounded at that point. He later came back with a few packets of soy and stated"there, you use this". I stood up and promptly left never to return. I have eaten here over the years and have noticed that the environment there as a whole has taken a major slide in both food quality and now overall attitude. Don't waste your time. read more

Hadn't been there is years, quite literally, and was in the area last week and wanted to stop by and see if the Great Wall was as good as I remembered it being (sometimes we remember a place being better than it really was or they change quickly.) The news was good, for us. The food and service was every bit as good as it always was (when we lived in the area) from the salad bar, to the grill, to the desserts. Everything in between was good as well. The food was seasoned, but not overly so. The supply of condiments was ample and if you are into sushi, the selection is ample. I prefer buffets when I am not sure what I want to eat, and in this case, was glad I did as I sampled several items (all of which were as good as I remembered them being), but didn't go heavy on anything. Definitely a cut-above the buffets that I am used to and will make a point to go back on return trips to the area. read more

Basing my review off other Chinese buffets and this was one of the best we've had. The food was fresh and clean. The service was on point. The restaurant was dated but clean. This was probably the largest selection of foods we've seen on a Chinese buffet. My husband tried the Mongolian grill and had a great dish that was well cooked. My picky son found several things he was willing to eat. He even thought the chicken tenders were "awesome". I am floundering between a 4 and 5 only because its a buffet and the food on buffets are never as quality as a great dinner place. But, I will stick with my 5 star based on the experience today. read more

Well stopped their for lunch with my mom because the last time we went the food was pretty well good. This time however it was just bland. Very, very bland. Pot stickers were dry, so dry like they had been there a long time, wontons were chewy and gummy, crab ragoon was just cream cheese no crab, or even imitation crab. Sesame Chicken was good but it was like the only thing that was. Well that was Chinese buffet good. Its rather telling when you go into a Chinese buffet and the American food is better than the Chinese. Except the mac n cheese. The cheese was so dried up it was basically yellow macaroni needles. Average. Came at 3:30pm at my mother's insistance (and against my better judgement). Food was running low and poor quality. At 4 they brought out the fresh dinner fare which was much better minus the over cooked prime rib that had the texture of leather and tasted like a bad pot roast. Great selection of meats and seafood. The buffet tables are as long as the Great Wall and could feed the Chinese army. They have two desert buffets with plenty of sweets. Try the wonton soup, very good or the sushi. read more

The food is decent. The staff is a bit slow sometimes. Every time we go it seems like out of the 5 of us maybe 2 people actually get refills on drinks without asking the rest of us have to hunt down a waitress. Plus side is they do crab legs all day. This buffet is absolutely amazing. I'm from out of town and legitimately every time I visit family for the past 5 years I always make sure to come here. The food is always fresh and hot, the sushi is prepared every couple of hours, and the staff is really nice. Their prices are really good too for what you get, there's so many options as far as food goes. I'm actually really surprised that they only have 3/5 stars because I've never had anything less than a great experience here. If you're in the area I highly recommend stopping by and having some food, I wish it was closer to my hometown. read more

I used to eat hear quite often. I will no longer. After using the restroom, an employee came out after me which he did not wash his hands and was wearing a plastic glove. I followed him thinking he might be a someone who maybe washing dishes, I was hoping. Instead he was the person making the sushi by hand. I immediately lost my appetite and walked out. Rating and summing up our experience at the Great Wall Buffet was much better than I expected it would be. We went in, was greeted and was seated within a few seconds. Our waitress got our drink orders and quickly brought them to our table. We had a substantial amount of fresh made good food options to choose from to keep our party of six well fed and happy overall with their dinner. My 14 year old son is a picky eater, and normally doesn't eat heavily for a meal, but he had enough food for two grown men, and he was planning when we should go back while sitting there. My 9 year old son was extremely happy with this restaurant too, and he is super picky over what food he eats. My 7 yr old birthday girl was thrilled and loved the Chinese food she tried from the buffet. Even our little 2 year old ate very well, and she normally is very picky about what she is willing to eat. I'm pretty picky about Chinese food, and I won't say all my food I tried was the very best I've ever eaten. My opinion was based on the few things I tried. I loved their sesame chicken, and the teriyaki chicken was pretty flavorful with a light smokey grilled flavor to it. I really enjoyed my mushrooms that were seasoned in a light nice sauce. The whole green beans were good too, and had just been put out when I got them, so they were cooked perfectly. I ate a little lo mein noodles, and they were decent, but not the best I ever ate, because they were slightly overcooked from being on the buffet. (Probably because they were not made to order, like I would normally get from any Chinese restaurant when eating lo mein.) The fried rice was good, but got just a tiny bit that was tough grains where it was too hot on the bottom of the pan and just had gotten a little dry. My kids had a wide variety of food. They were all smiles. (The only ONE thing 2 of my kids didn't love was the tiny bit of mac n cheese they tried, because it wasn't like I make at home.) The price was reasonable, and lower cost than the other two Chinese food buffets we'd been to, and very good for a family to be well fed without breaking the bank. The restaurant was somewhat busy, yet wasn't noisey and we had a nice large table that accommodated us well. The service was very pleasant from staff, and we were taken care of well with our waitress refilling drinks, and clearing plates. The place doesn't look brand new inside, but it was decently maintained, our table was clean, the food aroma through the restaurant was very pleasant, and the buffet tables were being refilled regularly. My husband is not the biggest fan of Chinese food, yet he had two large plates of food, and a large helping of desserts. (Even he wasn't unhappy about his meal.) Well it went from bad to worse. Husband and I usually go to the Fortune Buffet at supper time .NOT before or after . Around 5-5:30..Sooo My sweet Husband wanted to try this place again.He said maybe they may have improved..HA. OMGoodness. We went yesterday (the 27th) at 5:30. We had some coupons for the place so .( i love coupons LOL) Not one thing was fresh, hot or tasty.NOT ONE. there were maybe 8-10 pieces of sushi on all those plates !! Didn't touch them!! There are signs for small children NOT to serve themselves but have the parents help them..NOPE kids are running ALL over the place screaming and plating their food and spilling it everywhere!! Parents just sitting there..Now I love kids BUT PLEASE don't let them run amuck in a restaraunt!!!!! Poor Husband ..I let him off the hook cause he took us for a ice cream cone after this -----aaahh experience..Sad this place went down hill like this.Bye wall you ain't great anymore.Sad. read more
