Went here to play tennis and I was amazed by the cleanliness and how well maintained this place is! It's very spacious with a lot of tennis courts to play on!

Really cool park with different areas to explore. I've seen the balloon a few times from a distance and finally made my way over for Olivia Rodrigo's Daisy Chain Festival. I'll definitely be coming back with my dog when the weather is agreeable

Huge park!! Great Park is a local gem that offers both visitors and locals a place to sightsee, enjoy shows, and exercise. They have a Balloon Flight (Open to the public but cost $10 per adult). Park in Lot 3 for a closer walking distance. Carousel (Free) Farm + Food Lab great space for learning about agriculture or visiting chickens. Kids Play area has ample spaces for kids to run around and get their energy out. Palms Court Arts Complex is a shared space with the Great Park Gallery and Great Park Studio. Features a Hangar 244 - history of the park with its future exhibitions. The Layover - an eatery where you can order snacks, host food trucks, alcoholic beverages, non alcohol beverages. (closed temporarily)

Came here for the World Village Festival! Such a nice and amazing park. Don't know if I recommend this event, it was cool to look around, but not the most exciting. For the park itself, very clean & the balloon is worth it for the view! Super peaceful.

This review is for the Great Park live which host a series of outdoor concerts. Parking is ample but depending on the concert they may charge. I went for the Irvine nights Taylor Swift night and parking was free. There was a massive line when entering but went pretty fast, just keep in mind they do limit bag size but strollers were okay. The feel of great park live is outdoor festival feel with a ton of food trucks, vendors on site. However the food lines can be pretty gnarly so be prepared for a 45 minute plus wait. For our event they had a pizza truck, chick fila, taco truck, cotton candy, Cathy's cookies, pretzel wetzel and a few wine/ seltzer/ lemonade stands. I only saw one stand that had a Taylor swift cocktail theme with harder liquor but that was it and they were limited. So don't expect a strong cocktail here this is more beer, wine vibe. I do wish more stands had wine available to make it easier for purchase. Otherwise audio and screen projection was solid for the outdoor venue. Seating is on the tighter end with the lawn chairs up front. We sat in section C and it was a great view. Other downfall is exiting as the parking lot gets pretty backlogged with minimal street exits so be prepared to wait it out or leave early.

Great place to bring your kids as there is plenty of space to play and playground for toddlers to older kids. There's a carousel and zip lining and picnic tables.

The Great Park is one of the biggest public parks I've been to OC. There was so much to see... I parked at Lot 1, which was right by the pond. I then walked through the path here they had a historical timeline - great for students to remember what happened during the ancient times, renaissance, industrialization, etc. I passed by the Great Park Live, which had an event called "the layover". Then I headed to the carousel that had a great view of the Great Ballon. Across was a visitor center, where they explained the great ballon rides are first come first serve and is $10 per adult (minors can go for free). The playgrounds were impressive - very modern and seems great for kids of all ages. Overall, I was very impressed and I'd definitely come back for a nice stroll.

This is such a nice spot to visit. There's plenty of free parking, lots of open space to walk and the air balloon ride is a fun bonus. Just $10 for adults and free for kids. I recently came here to take a stroll with my son after a heavy meal to walk it off and it was perfect to enjoy some fresh air. Great for families and low key outings.

Played a 3 day baseball tournament and let me tell you, I felt like I made it to the big leagues during COVID. Lol. Even though there were little to no spectators, the visuals and the fields were incredible. I can't wait to come back and experience everything else this park has to offer

This is a really nice place to play soccer. The facilities and fields are well maintained. They also have a nice park and vending machines.

The Great Park encompasses 500 acres and is located in the east Irvine near Irvine Spectrum. It is the location of the decommissioned Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) El Toro. It's a massive park with multiple parking lots spread throughout. However when it's a nice day get here before 11am because the parking lots get full with many people asking if you're leaving like vultures. Because the park is massive, there is a lot of land for a variety of amenities. There are 24 soccer fields, 25 tennis courts, 5 sand volleyball courts, 4 basketball courts, 10 baseball fields, multiple kids playgrounds and lounge chairs, a tons of grassy areas throughout. There are covered areas for when the sun is out and shining bright. The restrooms are well-maintained which is always nice. Other attractions include the great park balloon (the first attraction to open in the park), the carousel, a farmers market, trinket shops and food trucks, an ice rink facility, a soccer stadium, an arts complex, and an aviation exhibition. Occasionally there are also various events and live music. I see this place as a park on steroids. It has all the amenities you expect to see from a normal park but it has much much more. I've visited a lot of parks in Irvine and Orange County and this might just be the best one.

I go to Great Park often to walk and to check out the local art exhibit. This time, they had an exhibit on Pac Man which is a nostalgic video game. The museum area is quite small but they packed the inside with some history of the game, fan art, retro toys and a few actual arcade machines so you could play Pac Man if you wish. The art work was super cool and I lost a few rounds of Pac Man but had fun. The games were free and the museum was free as well!

Are any of the tennis courts converted to pickleball courts? Thank you!

Is the ballon ride free?

It is! Just need to get there early to register. It's a very popular ride; wait times can be 30 mins to 2 hours, but it's worth the 10 minute ride to see the views. Only 6 people max at a time that's why it takes a while.

Hi Kevin, All lighted grass fields are not available for walk-on use. Signs are posted on these fields. Please see more information about walk-on field use here:…

Hi Claudia, thank you for your question. The City of Irvine will be installing EV chargers at Great Park in the Spring of 2022. Right now, you can find an EV charger at Great Park Ice located at 888 Ridge Valley, Irvine. Thank you.

Is the balloon open now & will it be open on Sunday?

Hi Jessica, the balloon operation days/times are as follows: Monday–Wednesday: Closed; Thursday–Friday: 10 a.m.–3 p.m.; 7 p.m.–10 p.m. Saturday–Sunday: 9 a.m.–3 p.m.; 7 p.m.–10 p.m. For up-to-date flight information and weather-related availability,…

Is the Zipline at the playground fixed?

Hi Elaine. Yes, it was repaired. We hope you enjoy soon!

Are tennis courts open at night and do they have lights? Particularly after the 5:30 closing time on Yelp.

The tennis courts are open daily from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. and they do have lights. You can find more information at https://www.cityofirvine.org/orange-county-great-park/sports-complex-facilities.

Are the baseball fields natural grass or artificial turf ? Thanks

Grass and dirt.

I think what makes this park stand out is the crowd. Any park can be beautiful but, without the proper maintenance from the park crew (and most importantly the park goers) it doesn't stand a chance. You see tons of regulars here with their dogs, families, kids. Everyone is friendly and respectful of one another. The dog crowd at this park is also one of the best I've seen. Although the park is not off leash, there's wide open areas for you to allow your fur family to play catch, run around, and have a bit of freedom! This park epitomizes Irvine's commitment to family spaces and community celebrations. Just the weekend before was the large, annual Memorial Day celebration and service for those who served in the US military. Some areas were still marked off, so we could see how large that event is and judging by the size of this park, it could well handle all who attended. On this day, there were many families enjoying the kid friendly play areas, a church group holding services under one of the many picnic shelters, another small group enjoying Tai Chi, a couple taking - I'll assume - engagement photos in the Formal Garden and fountain area, as well as others relaxing under trees and jogging along the winding paths. There are 3 massive fields conformed for baseball as well as soccer, and a forth, the Deanna Manning Stadium softball field, which is even larger than any of the other 3 fields and has it's own designated entry. Even batting cage areas! 6 courts - I'll presume for either tennis or pickle ball, the current rage, and plans for a future gymnasium, and community center. Additionally, there are open play areas, "informal gardens" and rock + water feature. The park runs along the San Diego Creek Channel with TONS of parking and so much to see and do! We pulled in looking for a restroom - lots of those too! - and stayed longer, exploring just the elevated Memorial Wall, Amphitheater, Formal Garden and 2 kid play areas. What can I say, I'm a sucker for elevated walkways and splash pads - don't judge! Colonel Bill Barber Marine Corps Memorial Park is an OUTSTANDING example of community pride, civic responsibility to honors those who have served, and positively the best use of park land I have seen in Southern California! A BIG CHEERS! "CC"

It was an unexpected stop, but it was nice to just chill out and enjoy the Irvine community. I was here at Heritage Community Park for about 2 1/2 hours. After having brunch with my family at the Broken Yolk Café - Irvine after taking the Amtrak Pacific Surfliner from LAX, we ended up here after swinging by the house and picking up their tennis gear and headed here for warm ups and tennis matches. It was nice to just sit here and watching my nephew play tennis and remind myself that I used to play tennis, but never got any good because I never really was good to begin with lol. I just loved to serve hard. In any case, I spent a large chunk of my time here at Heritage Park watching him play 3 matches over the course of 2 1/2 hours. The day got warm, so I found some shade near the tennis courts. I managed to nod off for 10 minutes while cooling off. It was cool to see the park and all the families that was here that morning and me being a tourist. It reminds me that I could still pick up tennis if I wanted to, hopefully I can find my tennis racquet somewhere in storage. It was also nice that there is restroom facilities here at Heritage Community Park too. The overall experience here at the Heritage Community Park here in Irvine, California was good and very nice after a day of travel from Honolulu to Los Angeles, and then a short trip to Irvine. The park itself isn't that large, but it does have a lot of tennis courts. My sister said Irvine community has a big tennis engagement thing and it shows that young people embrace it wholeheartedly. I thought that was pretty cool. The park itself is well maintained by the city of Irvine and there's a lot of trees everywhere to shield anyone and everyone from the heat during summer time and maybe the wind sheer during the winter months. From where I was, there wa at least 4 full sized tennis courts here and I was situated next to the parking lot. There wasn't much sitting areas to view, but I got lucky with a wall and shade from the trees. For the most part though, I ended up drifting off to sleep a few times, because I was jetlagged, but I was awake for most of the matches my nephew was in. Heritage Community Park is located in the heart of Irvine, California. There's also a spot for barbecues and soccer fields too. This park is particularly massive and I just stayed for the tennis matches. It's located in the heart of Irvine, California at 14301 Yale Avenue. Like all municipal parks, there's no admission fee to enter the park. Although there is rental fees associated with some on site equipment and things, majority of the park is free to enjoy with friends and family. As far as parking goes, there's a large and generous parking area for anyone and everyone who wishes to park here. And if you like public transportation, choose the routes that's best for you to get here to Heritage Community Park in Irvine. Never thought I'd be here to see people play tennis while on vacation, but here I was. It was cool and a nice change of pace when I am traveling. If you need that downtime and in Irvine, consider coming here to Heritage Community Park. Definitely will lift your spirits for a day or two. I'm happy that I saw my nephew play tennis. Hoping he'll make it to the pros someday. 5.0 stars for the overall experience. Support local! A+
