Chico Vision Care is hands down one of the best! My wife and I have trusted them for years, and…read moreevery visit has been a great experience. The team is always friendly, welcoming, and helpful from start to finish. It's also nice seeing familiar faces year after year, which says a lot about the kind of place they run. Highly recommend Chico Vision Care!

Time for new glasses since I haven't had an upgrade in over two years. I found Chico Vision Care on…read morethe "list" of locations that accepted my insurance. They are located on the South East side of town by the car dealerships so, relatively easy to find which was good. When I arrived, I was greeted by a girl at the front desk, then led to a sales person. I had to wait about five minutes for the sales person to finish something she was working on and while I was waiting, I was looking around. Of course, I instantly gravitated to the most expensive frames in the store (how does that happen every single time?!) I found their overall selection to be decent although for the style that I prefer, they were pretty limited. I didn't end up getting the priciest frames, but I did find a pair that I really liked, grabbed them and waited for the sales person. Once she was available, she went over prices and details about the difference between the lenses (blue blocker, transitions, etc.) and I was told it would be approximately two weeks until my glasses were ready. The timeframe worked for me so I paid for my frames then left. Two weeks came and went and crickets. Nobody reached out to let me know that my glasses had arrived so I waited an extra couple of days and still... no follow up. I ended up calling to find out what was going on with my glasses and was told they had been sitting there, ready for pick up. Ohhhhkayyyy, well then how come nobody called me?? Not cute. If there's one thing that gets under my skin quickly, it's a lack of follow up. So my glasses have been sitting there supposedly for a week and not one single person took it upon themselves to call me and let me know?? That irritated me because I desperately needed them and was told when I purchased them, I would receive a phone call when they arrived. Lie. Again, not cute. I would've given them four stars, but because my glasses sat there for a week and I had to chase them down, I'm being generous giving them three stars. If you decide to get glasses here, make sure you follow up with them in the timeframe given unless you want your new glasses to be collecting dust on a shelf in the back. Just sayin.

RHONDA helped my friend both times and made sure the glasses he chose were a good fit for his face. She was super helpful and patient. I love that the location is inside the Chico Marketplace and is open 7 days a week! Plenty of glasses to choose from! Thank you Rhonda for all your help with my disabled friend! Definitely will be back!

One pair came out fine, but they completely botched the other -- twice. The first time, the prescription was wrong. I brought them back and gave them a chance to fix it, but the second pair still wasn't right. At that point, I had lost all trust in their ability to get it right. After two failed attempts, I had had enough. I asked for a refund on both pairs -- not just the one they messed up, because I was done with the company altogether. I no longer wanted to do business with a place that couldn't deliver on quality or take accountability. Unfortunately, they refused the refund and showed zero willingness to make things right. I was polite and patient throughout the process, but they clearly had no interest in customer service or owing to their mistakes. I walked away disappointed, without money, and still without a usable pair of glasses. Save yourself the hassle. I wouldn't trust them with something as important as your vision -- take your business elsewhere. managers response taking no accountability leaves out sent them back in twice.

Let me preface this review by saying that I realize that I should have been a much more cautious…read morebuyer in the first place, but the abuse I took over a simple issue left me shaken. This place was recommended to me by an aquaintance because she felt the frames were priced very competitively. This may be so, however they make up for it by over-charging for the lenses. My prescription is high and so I need the high index lenses. Susan talked me into some 'revolutionary' product from France that was supposed to be much thinner and lighter than any other product on the market. In the end I ended up paying around $500 for the glasses. The frames were not high end and the lenses were not any thinner or lighter or more durable than my current pair that I purchased from Costco for $160. Being a bit naive and perhaps too trusting, I took the glasses back to them - honestly thinking that there was probably some simple mistake with my order. The owner, Randy, took out his special measuring tool and aggressively pointed out to me that they were indeed a hair width thinner. When I asked for even a partial refund due to the misrepresentation of the product he instantly became hostile and insulting. Repeatedly called me a liar and threatened to cancel my two year warranty. The insults kept coming so I headed out. He was still yelling at me even after I had left the store.

My grandma has macular degeneration which has been watched closely by optometrists for years. When she went to see Randy two years ago, he fit her for glasses. She has said on multiple occasions, "Although I paid a little more than I wanted to, those are the best glasses I've had in years. I can see better than with any other glasses I've had in years." Grandma lives in Southern California. On her most recent trip to Chico, she specifically asked to go see Randy again so he can make her another pair of great glasses.
