There was a noticeable amount of dust and debris throughout the space. I was told this was from acrylic nail services, but I've been to many nail salons that offer acrylics without the salon feeling dusty or dirty. The air conditioning was also not working, so it was uncomfortably warm. But the receptionist did give me a heads up when I made the appt the day before and the ac tech was on site working on it. The staff seem genuinely nice and are clearly trying, but the overall cleanliness and maintenance need attention. I would return for Kayla and the convenient location, but I hope the owner addresses the condition of the salon.

Instead of properly soaking off my gel polish, she aggressively filed my nails down to the point it was painful and left my natural nails damaged and paper-thin. My cuticles were barely touched, my nails were filed unevenly, and the polish application was poorly done from start to finish. I sat there for nearly 40 minutes hoping someone would notice what was happening and step in to help, but no one did. Thankfully, I was finally able to get Amanda's attention myself, and she kindly removed some of the polish so I could at least leave without it looking worse. After spending almost 1 hour and 45 minutes in the salon, I left with ruined nails and never even received the pedicure I had booked. The attached photo shows the condition of my nails when I left the salon -- damaged, over-filed, uneven, and completely unacceptable. What makes this even more upsetting is that my three daughters and I have been loyal customers since Bijou Nail Bar first opened. I've always supported this business, which is why this experience was so disappointing. I also requested that the owner call me directly regarding what happened, and I still haven't heard a peep. Had someone simply been honest that the salon was short staffed or that the employee was still training, I would have appreciated the transparency and gone elsewhere. Instead, I wasted nearly two hours and left feeling frustrated, ignored, and with damaged nails.
