I feel like he is a true gem when it comes to doctors. He takes his time when he visits with you and your child. Where do I start. First, they are NEVER on time. Expect to wait at least 30-60 mins past your…read morescheduled appointment before you are either taken back or see the doctor. Here is my experience: 1) Unprofessional. Never even talked to the actual Neurologist, only his NP. 2) Was told my son had absence seizures off first EEG. They recommend Topamax for my son. We had to go do a 14 hr EEG and sleep study just for them to tell me everything came back normal AFTER they tried to put my son on neurological medication after the first EEG. 3) NP never could answer my questions with ANY ACTUAL information, answers were always very simple and could be found in a google search. Came to meetings very unprepared and ALWAYS late. 4) The billing is horrible. They overcharged my insurance and myself multiple times. When I called to get more detail about EOB, the biller didnt seem well educated on what they actually were billing me or my insurance. 5) NO COMMUNICATION. Noone prepared us for the overnight EEG, which by the way is conducted in the most run down, disgusting "Motel 6" type facility. 6) No patient bedside manner. My son is 5 yrs old and you tell me he is having seizures, then tell me everything is normal. The emotional toll this whole process has been for me, my husband, and my son has been intense. I feel like after 3 months, 7 dr appts, I have less answers and more questions than I started with. NP made me feel like she was always in a hurry and unprepared for our meetings. 7) All together my son had 2 in office evals, 2 EEGs (1 hr and a 14 hr overnight), genetic testing, and multiple survey/tests and the end result is he is normal. Sounds and feels like a money grab to me. They charge you for documentation about your child's milestones that YOU fill out. Not only did I have to pay a copay for them to email me the documents (an office visit co-pay), but then you have to pay for them to review. You also have to pay for EVERY time you talk to the doctor. I paid for the EEG, but you then have to pay to get the results. We were recommended by two people to see Dr. Rotenberg so we gave this place a chance, the problem is you NEVER talk or see Dr. Rotenberg. I honestly feel like this was all a money grab. I literally HAVE NO NEW insight on my child at all. ABSOLUTELY DO NOT RECOMMEND. THIS HAS BEEN THE WORST EXPERIENCE AND I ABSOLUTELY FEEL BAMBOOZLED.

We interviewed at a lot of pediatrician offices before we went with pure pediatrics. Dr. Kelly listens to every question we have and is very thoughtful and patient. We love all the nurses and staff too. It was important to us to find a pediatrician that truly cares about our family and our children's health and we have found that in Dr. Kelly.

Just a heads up... if you are coming to get tested for Covid and are under 18 with insurance, they…read moreare going to charge you for an office visit before they'll swab you. Then they don't accept insurance for rapid testing so that's another $75 on top of whatever your copay for urgent care is. Oh and they cannot give you an itemized bill after your visit. You need this type of bill to file the claim with insurance yourself to get refunded. Apparently you need to contact medical records for it... Funny how the people who charge you and take your money can only give you a credit card receipt and not an itemized receipt. All this is after they have you waiting 28 minutes from your appointment time. We called beforehand and were not told any of this. They just said... make an appointment online and we'll swab you in the car. As a comparison, we got tested before at another pediatric clinic in cypress and they were able to use our insurance, swab us in the car and were ahead of schedule so we were seen prior to our appointment time. We drove all the way from Cypress because our Montessori school called us today, New Year's Day to inform us that my son's class had an exposure and that we should get tested. You have been warned.

He offers thoughtful recommendations and valuable insights that make us feel confident in the care we're receiving. I also appreciate that the office almost always has same-day availability when my son is sick, which is a huge relief. Most of the staff have been friendly and professional, but I've had a couple of experiences with one assistant that made things...a bit uncomfortable. She came off as cold and disengaged, especially during moments when I was undressing my crying infant. A little empathy or even a few kind words would go a long way in easing the stress during those situations. It felt like she lacked the warmth and presence needed to work with young children. Especially when my son was getting blood drawn and she made no effort to interact or comfort him. That said, one thing that really stood out to me, especially as a new mom was the postpartum screening they did during my early visits. I didn't expect that level of care, and it meant a lot that the doctor took the time to go over my responses and make sure I was getting the support I needed. Overall, I highly recommend this pediatrician's office and truly appreciate the care Dr. Doan provides. It takes a lot of patience and a gentle approach to work with little ones, and for the most part, that really shines through here.

Since I have an accent, he started asking me if I got an insurance, if they are part of my plan etc. I explained him that on my Aetna app I can easily see which doctors are covered which ones are not. And she is covered. He started telling me that now I have to call my insurance provider and make sure one more time, since he isn't sure why I would be confident about my insurance being taken. Then he started asking me if it's Medicaid, if it so, then they won't take it. Seriously this is ridiculous! I've never had to have so much trouble trying to make an appointment with a doctor when I'm 100% sure that my insurance is accepted there. This guy sounded Caucasian and most likely he thought since I got an accent, I would not be able to afford my own insurance and will be on Medicaid!
