    Bill for one medium meal

I just bought the shrimp one it was so horrible that I threw it in the trash. $25 later I'm still hungry

This lady is always in a bad mood I'm going to avoid now if I see she's the one working! I went last night around 8:30! I'll post pics with time stamp but they're supposed to close at 9 why at 8:30 was everything cleaned up? Then when ask if closed she laughs then smirks and walks away. This lady hates her job and it shows

Pieces of plastic in my food!

Found pieces of what seems like cut up plastic in my food! Not okay. They should get shut down with all the review I just found with same experiences. I don't know how many I might have accidentally ate! I thought it was just one but then I found more! Unacceptable. It's mall food and I don't expect much from service to food wise but this is not okay. Will not be eating here again.

First time trying this place out. It is located in Cerritos mall in the food court. The food is amazing! Fresh noodles & everything was amazing! The customer service was great everyone helped me out with my order! Would come again!

    Manager
    Jay C.

After they made the wrong order (shrimp instead of beef), I politely asked to just add the beef without cooking the whole thing over. So as I'm eating the new meat, I bit onto something extremely hard. It was ROCK. It was black and sharp. I took it back to show them and the manager did not seem to care and even laughed. I was upset and was not kidding. She took the rock to inspect and started looking on the floor. I asked her, "why are you looking at the ground for? Did it come from there?". She blamed the cook and said he's new. I asked the cook who seem to not speak English. They don't know where it came from. She had a smile the whole time. No refund. No solution. No nothing. I used to love this restaurant, but not with these careless a**holes working here. I'm good.

Didn't get the order right and didn't let us pick our sauces

I wouldn't even rate it a star, but I can't. Food was awful we had to wait so long for us to get it, didn't even give us napkins or anything.

    Bit into steel wool

Used to love this place growing up but what happened to the quality? Food is dry or burnt. Even found a piece of steel wool in the food... I want to keep giving this place faith that it'll come back but now it's just dangerous to eat.

    Combo #1
    Julio G.

Located inside Cerritos mall Dining area parking located nearest to freeway Walk in then to the right. Combo #1 comes with a drink. Great flavor, but meats and noodle were a bit dry. Employees were very nice and respectful to us. I highly recommend as a treat. And I will be coming back to re-evaluate their meal

The plastic that my partner and I almost ate as it was wrapped in the meat.

The service here is very poor, the older lady working the resgister is very unfriendly and unwelcoming. Not to mention their prices keep going up each time I visit. I wouldn't mind paying $15 if I was able to add what I wanted and however much I wanted, but they're charging $15 for a small bowl that is limited to a certain weight of meat that they put together for you. Or you can pay $17 for slightly more meat, or around $20 for enough meat to actually fill you up. I can easily go 5 minutes away to the Mongolian food at the Lakewood mall. The prices there are cheaper and you get to build your own bowl. This place is a ripoff and I will not be returning. I also found a piece of melted plastic in my meal which was very disturbing.

Exceptional Service Recognition - Jonathan Delgado & GEN Cerritos Team…read more I am writing to formally recognize the truly exceptional service my family and I received during my daughter Dacia's 10th birthday dinner at GEN Korean BBQ in Cerritos. To be fully transparent, I arrived at the restaurant extremely concerned. I had been experiencing difficulty securing a reservation and was worried I would not be able to accommodate my large party of approximately 20 guests. Given the last-minute nature of my visit, I fully expected to be turned away. Instead, what I experienced was nothing short of extraordinary. From the moment I walked in, the staff demonstrated professionalism, empathy, and a genuine willingness to help. They immediately recognized that I was doing everything possible to make my daughter's birthday special and went above and beyond to ensure our family was taken care of. Manager Jonathan Delgado elevated the experience to an entirely different level. As a 17-year combat veteran, I am very mindful of environments that can sometimes feel overwhelming due to my PTSD. Without hesitation -- and with remarkable awareness and respect -- Jonathan made sure I was seated in an area where I felt comfortable and at ease. He approached the situation with professionalism, discretion, and genuine care that meant more to me and my family than I can fully express. Jonathan did not simply accommodate us -- he led with empathy, situational awareness, and true customer-first leadership. Throughout the evening, he remained engaged, attentive, and proactive. He made my entire family feel welcomed, valued, and genuinely cared for. His interaction with my children -- especially on my daughter's birthday -- showed a level of heart and authenticity that is rare in today's customer service environment. I have been dining at GEN for over 13 years across multiple locations, and I can say without hesitation that I have NEVER experienced the level of attention, care, professionalism, and genuine hospitality that Jonathan and his team delivered that evening. His team clearly reflects his leadership. The staff worked seamlessly, maintained outstanding energy, and ensured our large party was supported every step of the way. The experience was smooth, warm, and memorable from start to finish. Jonathan Delgado is a top-tier manager who represents the GEN brand at the highest possible standard. Employees like him do not just manage restaurants -- they build loyalty, trust, and lifelong customers. Because of this experience, my confidence in the GEN brand -- particularly the Cerritos location -- has been fully reinforced. My daughter had an unforgettable 10th birthday, and that is directly because of Jonathan and his incredible team. Please ensure Jonathan Delgado and the Cerritos staff receive the recognition they have absolutely earned. With sincere appreciation, Henry Alvarado17-Year Combat VeteranCEO & Founder, At Ease HQ

We originally expected to be in the main building, but we were directed to the smaller adjacent space instead. This turned out to be a win; the main building has extremely loud music and a "club" atmosphere, whereas the smaller space has a much more relaxed, family-friendly feel. The Highlights: Efficiency: The wait time was surprisingly low for a Friday. Service: The staff was helpful and managed to expedite a large amount of food in a very short window. Extras: The selection of Asian snacks and drinks at the front is a very nice touch. Things to Know Before You Go: This is an All-You-Can-Eat (AYCE) spot with a strict two-hour time limit. In my opinion, the best value is the $29.99 lunch special. We opted for the weekend "Premium" menu for a special occasion--which adds a $20 surcharge--but the basic menu actually seems like the better deal. This isn't your traditional, high-end Korean BBQ destination; it's more of an "entry-level" spot for anyone who wants quality grilled meats without any judgment. While the experience was solid, the food itself is average at best for this area. The Verdict: I wouldn't say you should avoid it, especially if you're trying to escape a two-hour wait elsewhere, but there are definitely higher-quality options nearby. I'd comfortably land this at a 3.5 out of 5.

The side dishes were all delicious -- especially the spicy cucumbers, potato salad, bean sprouts, kimchi. But the meats were definitely the highlight. I went with the Silver Special and the bulgogi (top favorite here), beef belly, and brisket were all so good. The meat looked and tasted really high quality too, and they changed the grill quickly and often which I appreciated. Honestly, the whole menu looked amazing. I came in hungry and left completely full, but still wished I could've tried more definitely a sign I need to come back. I also noticed they had tortillas on the menu which was a cool fusion touch. I personally stick to rice paper, but still thought it was a fun addition. Everyone was really nice, the place was clean, and the prices were excellent for the quality and AYCE delicious food. Overall such a great experience -- easy 5/5 stars. Would absolutely come back again.

We arrived at about 6 o'clock on a Friday night and had to wait about 15 minutes. They have an electronic check-in system and you just enter your name and number in your party and wait. We tried to do it in advance, but it had been taken off-line from the Yelp app. The place was very busy and bustling with activity. It's a no nonsense resturant that is clean. Some of the tables are shared so you will have a table with two burners that can accommodate two parties of four. While we were close to our neighbors, we had enough separation that we felt like we had a private table. Once we were seated, we were presented the menu that has essentially three AYCE menu options. Our waiter was very attentive and explained the online ordering to us and we were off. When we ordered the the food, it came out quickly. The meat was tender and flavorful. The banchan was pretty standard, but good. I particularly liked the spicy pork and the glass noodles. My family really enjoyed the brisket and the kimchi pancake. My daughter ordered the spicy Ramen, which was her least favorite thing. It was very peppery tasting. All in all, it was a great place for a family meal. We all enjoyed it very much and are looking forward to coming back.

The Korean corn dogs are the real star here. Crispy on the outside with that signature crunchy coating, and soft, cheesy goodness on the inside--every bite is insanely satisfying. Whether you go for the classic sausage, the half mozzarella combo, or one of the loaded options rolled in toppings like potatoes or crunchy crumbs, you really can't go wrong. The texture alone is next level. What makes these Korean-style hotdogs stand out is the variety and creativity. They're not just your average corn dogs--they're coated in panko or unique toppings and often filled with gooey cheese, which gives them that iconic stretch and flavor people love . The sauces take everything up another notch. Sweet, spicy, tangy--mix and match to your taste and you've got a flavor combo that hits every time. Pair it with a side like tteokbokki or fries, and it turns into the perfect comfort meal. Overall, this spot nails it with flavor, texture, and creativity. If you've never had a Korean corn dog before, this is the place to try it--and if you have, you already know why it's worth coming back again and again. Definitely a 5-star experience!
