This firm tried to use predatory practices on an acquaintance who was there to buy their first car. The buyer didn't finance so they tried to penalize her by quoting her $44,516 for a Crosstrek premium. Once they knew she was willing to walk they adjusted their price conveniently down to the original quote. A few weeks later the salesman harassed the buyer to give them a top rating to where she needed to block the salesman's phone to make the calls stop. We've bought other Subarus in Montana elsewhere - we'll never buy a car there personally and caution others to stay away. read more

This business will not accept insurance for windshield replacement. I spoke with service staff twice by phone about scheduling before I went in person to make an appointment. I wasn't told I had to pay full amount up front and have my insurance company reimburse until I showed up in person. Wasted my time. read more

I purchased a vehicle at Great Falls subaru. Since purchasing the vehicle I have nothing but issues. The day of the purchase im told I needed to wait due to the fact that one of their employees had to remove the stickers from the back window. Amongst other issues with my purchase. I notice that their employee ripped a huge line of tint all down my window. The sales manager Brian, blatantly refused to fix what his employee had done. So before purchasing a vehicle at Great Falls suburu, just know that their employees are allowed to damage your vehicle before leaving. Classy guys at this dealership. I also had to pay the deductible on getting my vehicle fixed as it has been in the shop since the day after the purchase. At least Ford lived up to their end of the deal. . read more

Do NOT trust this dealership! From being dishonest about their "71-point inspection," to changing the agreed-upon price, overfilling the oil by more than 2.5 quarts, and now refusing to reimburse us for the overcharge or the repair bill -- this entire experience has been a nightmare. We drove six hours to buy what they advertised as a "gold guaranteed" vehicle. We worked with Darcy, who bragged nonstop about their inspection process. Yet their so-called "71-point inspection" somehow missed an empty windshield washer fluid reservoir, a dirty and old air filter, and low key fob batteries -- and that's before we even get to the oil issue! Right before we left our house, they called to say someone else was trying to buy the vehicle and pressured us to put down a $2,500 deposit just to hold it. Since we had never even seen the car or the dealership, we pushed back and they agreed to $1,000. We were originally told we could wire the funds on Friday and it would be fine if it arrived Monday, as long as the down payment was in. Then at the last minute they told us the opposite, forcing us to bring cash as they don't take certified checks or checks of any kind. Not the end of the world, but still a hassle. Before we got there, we had already agreed on a final price. While signing paperwork, I missed that the sales price on the contract was different than the original purchase order. I assumed it included fees, but they then added fees on top of that. Shady and seems intentional as they had already sent the bank and myself a purchase order that was different. We left and headed towards home... then noticed a burning smell. Oil was dripping and splattered all over the underside of the vehicle. I sent videos to Darcy the same afternoon we purchased the car. He said he passed them to the used car manager, Tim. Monday, I called several times with no response until Brian (another manager) finally called me back and told me to take the vehicle to an ASE-certified mechanic and claimed the warranty would cover it. The mechanic found that the vehicle had been overfilled with more than 2.5 extra quarts of oil (probably 3 with how much had already leaked out) a clear service mistake. Obviously a warranty doesn't cover that. I kept calling Monday and Tuesday with no one getting back to me. I eventually reached the finance manager, Evan, who said he'd follow up with the other managers. Nearly a week went has gone by with no return call or follow up. I called again today and finally got ahold of the used car manager Tim, who said he "trusts his machine and his guys" and refuses to help. When we told him that was unacceptable and f****** BS as we have sent proof from a mechanic, he hung up on us. I also still have not received their service records on the car despite asking Darcy, Evan and Tim. This dealership lied, overcharged, skipped basic maintenance, made a dangerous service mistake, and now refuses to take responsibility. This was one of the best experiences I've ever had at a car dealership. I'm honestly surprised that there isn't more reviews about positive experiences at Subaru Great Falls. Mike in the service department was super friendly and helpful right from the get go. He even showed my wife and other customers how to work the coffee machine (ugh, technology sometimes). Took my car in for regular 6k engine oil change and transmission fluid change as recommended at 30k miles. After only about an hour or so my car was ready to go. This dealership was clean and organized. Every staff member (including technicians) were friendly and personable. I highly recommend going to this Subaru dealership! We were on a road trip far from home when our power steering failed outside of Great Falls, Montana. The first mechanic we took it told us he couldn't look at it for four days, and getting the parts could take just as long. Fortunately, the Subaru dealer in Great Falls was able to fit us into to their busy schedule for a quick diagnostic. We needed to replace the power steering control module, but they did not have the part in stock. They found a dealer in Portland that had the part and overnighted the delivery and instead of having to wait for several days in a hotel, we stayed one night and were able to get back on the road. Breaking down on the road far from home can be a challenging experience, especially if you are not familiar with the work of local mechanics. In our case the staff of Subaru of Great Falls were outstanding! Special thanks to Mike, Dave, and the mechanics who did the work! They even shipped a book and water bottle to me that I mistakenly left behind at the dealer. The customer service was excellent. They gained our trust, so I highly recommend them. We had a great buying experience, where Darcy walked us through the process and assured us the whole team would be "there for us" and take great care of us. But from the first "complimentary visit", we were treated with disdain and as if we were an inconvenience. Walter at the service desk was rude, not honest about how long things would take, and literally treated us like we had annoyed him by showing up for our scheduled appointment. They didn't do all the things they said they would do, and made it seem like our fault. The next complimentary appointment was much the same, except that time, they gave us paperwork that said our whole car was in great shape, while they kept from us the paperwork that showed that our tires were at the brink of failure. Yes, I mean that. Our tires failed on a four lane highway 4 states from home, and I called Subaru to double check whether they'd actually looked at/aligned/made sure our tires were good. The tech, Mike said "yes, all the paperwork looks good". But when we came in to discuss the issue with Dave, the service manager, he first ignored our scheduled appointment and met us in the main waiting area in front of other customers, then told us we were overloading our van, off-roading, and hauling too-heavy loads (all one hundred percent not true). Then he went into his office to "check some things" and called us in to admit that there was a second set of paperwork from the same day that showed clearly that our tires were at failure point, but that they had given us paperwork that declared them good. He fully admitted fault, and offered us a "free oil change" to make up for it. We thought they should pay for the tires we had to buy in a different state, and the work we missed because they lied to us/withheld information. When we pressed the issue, including photos of both sets of paperwork, the GM Brain Drewes accused us of being people who would "take all they could get", and declared that he would "not take responsibility " , and refused to put anything into writing. These guys treated us like garbage, gaslighted us, withheld crucial information, accused us of behavior that was untrue, and put us and our family in danger. Their website states that they care about customers: our experience completely disagrees with that. This dealership is the reason people have a terrible opinion of car salesmen. Sales took a vehicle to a local paint shop to have it touched up. Now it is starting to peel. When I called in my sale lady said I have had the car for 30 day and I could have done something to it...WTF. The sale manager will not talk to me. I also took to another paint shop and they said it will get worse and they did not clear the car prior to painting it. You can see the dirt in the paint. I have a email out to the GM of the store and we what he has to say. I can't believe she was trying to blame me. All I know they could of had a tech spray paint it and lied to me. Seems when you have a problem the service department never knows what the problem is. I bought my car, left the lot to drive home and couldnt go more than 80 mph. When i contacted Tim Schroder he proceeded to tell me that they had checked the alignment and that they would find a solution to that after they got them money from the place I got my loan but until then there wasn't anything they could do. I finally scheduled an appointment for Memorial day I double checked with them to make sure they were open that day to get my first oil change and have them check the issue with it shaking. I drove over an hour to get to great falls all for them to be closed that day. I continued to have multiple other issues with my Tahoe and have made multiple appointments for them to tell me they can't find a solution to the problem, and that "we aren't going to charge you" I would not ever buy a vehicle from this place and wouldn't recommend it to anyone else. They give you the run around they don't care if you and your kids are stranded on more than one occasion. After making the last phone call, the service department has told me my warranty is not tied to them and I am able to take it wherever I want, feeling once again they seem to not care about any of the issues I am having. THIS IS THE WORST PLACE TO BUY A VEHICLE AND I FEEL SORRY IF YOU BUY FROM THEM....I DO NOT RECCOMEND!!!!!!!!!! read more

Hi. The salesperson at Great Falls Subaru was quite friendly and helpful. I was buying a 2010 Ford F-150 with high mileage: 188,000 or so. The salesperson said the boss would not sell it without the mechanic checking it out, so that was done and then I agreed to buy it at a reasonably low price (appx $15,800). The truck looked really nice inside and out, black leather seats, unworn interior, outside vermillion red with silver trim at the bottom. But when took it to my mechanic in Butte, MT, I was asked twice "Did the dealer tell you there's a lot of things wrong with that truck?" About 6,500 dollars went to steering, suspension, missing 4-wheel drive vacuum tubes, leaking transmission, etc, A few months later check engine light came on and this time it was timing gears/belt/chain whatever's in there, and my mechanic said when that happens with this kind of mileage it's time for a new engine. So, it now has a Jasper rebuilt 5.4 L engine with 500 miles on it, and it runs and drives like a dream. As a bonus, there's a prowling cougar on the back window! Anyway, it wasn't so much the sale or salesperson that surprised me, and neither really did all the work that needed done with that kind of mileage. But I fell the mechanic should have at least mentioned the missing four wheel drive vacuum tubes (that disengage the four wheel drive I was told), and that probably a lot of parts will need replaced in the not-to-distant future. Thanks for reading. Might be good to have your potential purchase checked out by an outside of their business mechanic. In the end, I have now a pretty solid and great looking truck for a total cost of about $33,500 - I'll never get that back out of a 2010 F-150, but it should serve me well for a long time -- I hope! read more
