I loved being able to communicate with Angie directly beforehand with prompt responses via texts. I'm so excited to show off my new hair at my college graduation this weekend (picture attached)! I'll definitely be returning to Angie soon - she has my highest recommendation.

Tommy's Hair Salon sits somewhere along that long, hypnotic stretch of I-35--a pilgrimage I've made…read moreevery 90 days for the better part of a decade, like some desperate disciple chasing redemption with a bad haircut and a tank of gas. The road hums, the mind wanders, and by the time you arrive you're half-feral, hair blown sideways by Texas wind, looking like you lost a fight with a weed trimmer. And then there's Tommy. The man is not merely a barber--no, that word is far too small, too polite. Tommy is a surgeon of style, a high priest of follicles, a Michelangelo with clippers instead of chisels. You don't sit in his chair--you submit to it. It's a throne, and once you're in it, you belong to the process. "I'll make you sexy," he says, calm as a desert sunrise, like a man who has seen things... terrible, overgrown things. Then the tools come alive. Clippers buzz like angry insects. Scissors flash in quicksilver arcs. Thinning blades whisper through the chaos. It's controlled madness--precision disguised as violence. Hair falls like casualties. The wild beast you brought in--the unkempt, wooly creature you've been nurturing through neglect and bad decisions--is systematically dismantled. The beard is tamed. The edges sharpened. The whole operation tightened and civilized. You watch it happen in the mirror like a man witnessing his own resurrection. And when it's over, you step out--not the same person. No. You're cleaner. Sharper. Dapper, even. Suspiciously sophisticated. Like you might suddenly understand wine or own a blazer that fits. Five stars? That's a joke. An insult, really. This place isn't a salon--it's a holy site. A hair-cutting Mecca. The sacred ground where chaos meets discipline and somehow comes out looking damn good. Walk in. Make an appointment. Crawl there if you have to. Just go see Tommy.
