I had a busy weekend and I wasn't able to cut my hair like I normally do on a Sunday. Every other barber/haircut business seems to close at 6pm or earlier. Thankfully Great Clips opens late (9pm). I came in looking, or at least feeling like the wolfman. Aspen got me checked in and listened to what I wanted, and gave some welcomed suggestions. Very professional and friendly. I went to another salon and they completely ruined my hair. So I came to great clips to get it fixed and lemme tell you how amazing they did. The check in process was super quick and simple, I had to wait maybe 10 min at most to get serviced. Aspen who assisted me was such a doll! She was completely sweet and kind and we made small talk as she cut my hair. The only downside was that they didn't wash my hair but that's understandable with covid and all. Started off great. Looking for a new place to be a Loyal Client for myself and daughter. Loved the looks. Very inviting and clean. Kim checked me in. Walk in new customer. The cut was for my daughter. She asked her age - I told the truth. 13. She gave me the child price. Very nice of her. She saw the opportunity to make a first impression and to turn me into a Loyal client from a walk in customer. When it was my daughters turn this is when the experience went bad. Olivia asked her age and again I told the truth. She said she is not a child price. I said I know but the other worker offered it. Olivia acted like I lied to get a discount. She was just very rude. Best haircut I've had in a long time! Malinda cut and put a style back into my long hair without chopping it all off. . She is fantastic!! Very professional and very nice. I left with my hair damp and it dried on the way home and looked great- that's how awesome the cut was. She layered it perfectly, still left me with some length, and it feels healthy and bouncy. Uh, my husband went in this morning for a trim. Sylvia shaved his head! He is now a bald eagle!! What the heck?!?! She didn't even say anything and he still had to pay! What was she thinking?? She clearly made a mistake with the razor clip guide. He felt her stop after the first cut then total silence. Then the next day, I noticed hair closest to the neck that was not cut to the length of the rest of her hair. As well as her hair was cut uneven and just horribly done. Never, never again. I would NOT recommend this place. After a botched haircut, I needed to find a place that would fix this "bob" ASAP. Because of all the "layers" and "texture" put in, I had to chop my daughter's hair much shorter than anticipated to even out the back. From our very first visit we were impressed. My girls love Aspen and we request her every time we go in. We even call ahead to make sure she's working. The rest of the staff is wonderful as well. Urghhh I hate to give a bad review because I like the girls who work here and besides this one stylist they do a fantastic job. So I took my two boys in the 23rd for a cut before Christmas. My oldest went to one girl and my youngest (who didn't want a cut) went to a younger, possible new girl, with short green hair. She asked me if I wanted what he had last time, she said exactly how it was cute per notes and I agreed but asked to cut the top a tad shorter. Now based on what we discussed a tad shorter would but cut with scissors, just like the notes in the system. This chick took the clippers on a 1 clip and started shaving my 5 year olds head. He was suppose to get a comb over boys cut. She started shaving his head from the top. I almost passed out. There was no way to save it. He looked like he was joining the army. I don't know how we went from specific directions to this. He cried, I almost cried and long story short all our Christmas pictures he's wearing a ball cap. I will NEVER let her touch my boys hair. Let me start by saying I'm not one to go online and just slam people in reviews. I've been a longtime resident of Upland, and my son decided to go to Great Clips to get his haircut. He was seen by a guy named Michael, and unfortunately didn't do a good job. My son is embarrassed, and not real outspoken. So I returned and explained myself. There were other clients present, so out of respect I kept my voice low. All I wanted was a refund. At this point they went about shuffling through many receipts to find his, and when they found it they informed me they don't do refunds. I don't know why they just didn't say that to begin with. It's only $16 so I just left. It's really not a big deal, I just felt unappreciated. The only place I've found who takes "I want as little cut off as possible" to heart and doesn't cut three inches off without asking.
