She just seemed to know what I wanted and did way better than I had even known possible.. And the price was even better than the chains I had been visiting! Her salon is very pleasant, and her company great! I'm definitely going to drive the extra miles to be a regular customer!!

Do not go here for a perm:…read more I wanted a perm that would give me large curls, more of a "body wave." I called before arrival to ensure that they would be able to do this. They told me they have all different sizes of rollers and would definitely be able to do this. I restated that I wanted large curls, not tight spiral ringlets to the stylist. Long story short, I walked out looking like Felicity or a poodle. Very unhappy. I should've said more when I was there about my disappointment, but just wanted to get out of there.

I am so far beyond upset right now! They damaged my hair. Damaged isn't even a good word to…read moredescribe what happened tonight. My hair was literally SMOKING because of whatever chemicals they decided to use. My scalp feels like it has multiple cigarette burns... And the worst part is that after I spent seven hours there my hair, which was supposed to be blonde, is nothing more than a rats nest of gray! GRAY! It took three people 15 minutes to comb through my hair that was saturated in conditioner. It normally takes me less than two minutes. My hair is now brittle and broken. To top things off the owner had the audacity to charge me more for this mess than what I paid before! She wanted me to pay $230 when I paid $200 and it included a haircut last time. The hairdresser had the audacity to tell me that my hair was Orange, which is why it turned gray. It was definitely not orange and I hadn't touched my hair since the last time I went to this same salon back in March. I used their products. The owner's response to my hair smoking was that it was normal! Never in my life have I ever had my hair nearly catch fire from coloring it. I walked out. I will definitely never be back! I now have to face my clients with gray hair and I go on vacation in two days!

Good work, good employees. Took my 4 year old there today. Sadly, I left upset. I looked this place…read moreup online, called to schedule a time to come in. All of this, after looking at their prices. I realized the price was not fair as it said "12 dollars up to 15 dollars for kids 0-12 of age, but it was posted as that so I went to check it out. Once done, I was charged 30 dollars for a 10minute cut. I asked about it, they said the price was 25 years old and it was incorrect. Last I checked, if the price is incorrect they should let costumers know, it was of no fault of my own. I explained to the owner the situation she said I was wrong and that was for another salon, should her the address, and even the picture of the outside of the place. She didn't know how to respond, and walked to the back of the Establishment. They charged my card for 30 dollars, and gave me back a 5 dollar discount in cash. Gave back the money and Let them keep the 5 dollars. Not sure I'd go back. Even thought the actual hair cut was good, but it felt like I was been robbed and the owner did not care at all. Just walked away and expected me to be ok with it. If you go there you might be pleased with the results, just make sure you ask the price before you have anything done. Don't believe prices you see written anywhere online or on the door. 2 stars because I was ok with the hair cut, but I could have gotten that somewhere else as well.

So yesterday I had my appointment to dye my hair red. My experience with Starz' customer service…read morewas superb the day before and I was so looking forward to working with my stylist new Jessie (hope I spelled her name right) . She was FANTASTIC! I was going from a dark brown to a vibrant red and it was A LOT of work. We removed the color it had before, dyed it red and were unsatisfied with the results. But that didn't stop her, she came back with a cherry red dye that left my hair looking amazing! Its bright, and vibrant and the best shade red ever. I would even go brighter next time, and I won't go to anyone other than Jessie. She simply was the best! I would recommend this salon to anyone. It was busy, customers were happy, everyone knew everyone and it was a warm atmosphere. Well done Starz Salon, you have a new client for sure!

(4/5) I want to…read moreshare my full experience at Starz Salon because while things ended on a great note, the beginning was incredibly stressful and disappointing. My original stylist, Emma, had to cancel last minute due to illness, which I completely understood. Since I was heading out of town for vacation and needed my hair done beforehand, the salon rescheduled me for that Saturday with another stylist (whom I won't name out of courtesy). Unfortunately, the appointment went terribly. I was quoted a price and given a timeframe of 11:15 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. for a tone, glaze, and haircut. I ended up being there from 11 a.m. until after 3 p.m. nearly four hours and I never even received the haircut. The total price I paid was much more than originally quoted (even without the haircut) The color process was poorly executed: my hair came out overly ashy, spotty, and completely off from what I requested. The stylist had to re-glaze it, but I was still charged for that re-glaze even though it was correcting her own mistake. I also specifically said I didn't want a full blow-dry just enough to make sure my hair looked okay for my trip but I was still charged for a full 30-minute blow dry I never wanted. Worse, during the service, I told the stylist that my scalp was hurting, and she dismissed it, saying it was probably just "stress." When I got home, my husband noticed visible burn marks on my scalp. That was alarming and honestly made me feel extremely uncomfortable. Then, she told me she wanted to dry my hair before cutting it, which is not standard and made me extremely uncomfortable. At that point, I was so uneasy with the entire experience that I lied and said I had another appointment just to get out of the chair. I left without a haircut and very upset. To the salon's credit, the owner personally reached out to me afterward, apologized, and promised to make it right. Although it couldn't be fixed immediately due to the holiday weekend and my vacation, they followed through... When I returned, Emma (my original stylist) was finally able to see me, and she did an incredible job. She corrected the color beautifully, gave me a deep shampoo treatment, and finally gave me the haircut I'd originally booked. She's professional, kind, and clearly knows what she's doing. I'm not writing this to bash Starz Salon. Mistakes happen but clients should never leave with burns, poor color, or feeling dismissed. That said, it's not about how you start, but how you finish and the salon made sure I was taken care of in the end. Thank you, Emma and the team, for turning it around.

I'd say I'm more bad-ass than gnarly, but whatever. Why is someone as bad-ass as me reviewing a hair salon? In the small town of North Oxford?!?!??!!! The first time walking into Shagged Hair Design on Main Street, or Rt 12, in North Oxford, I couldn't help but to drawn into the décor of Shagged. To be honest, Shagged's décor is geared to a mostly female clientele, but someone like me isn't there for the décor. I need to get a good haircut at a price that doesn't completely empty my wallet. Shagged does that. Living in Worcester, there really isn't a whole lot of good/personable/cheap barbers or places to get a good male haircut. I tried barbers in the City, but the trendy taper crap sucks. I tried Diorio's but unless you know someone that works there, you're just another $9 and you get a sloppy cut. This is where Shagged shines. The staff is friendly first, then business like second. I like this about Shagged. As a customer, you are able to give ideas and have someone from Shagged's professional staff recommend a cut to fit the person. So dudes like myself, suck it up and don't worry about the décor and go to Shagged Hair Design and get a gnarly haircut.
