Amazing service! Nikki (she also goes by Nicole) took a lot of care to make sure my haircut was as I wanted it. She frequently stopped to make sure my hair was as I liked it, looked at my reference photo more than once. She really took my preferences seriously and made me feel super welcome. Great conversations and great vibe. 10/10 read more

Thank you Iris for an excellent haircut! Sadly, it's the last I'll have at Great Clips after ten+ years. The price had increased more than 10% since my last haircut and the loyalty program abruptly ended. Customer service, patience with ppl with disabilities. It was a horrible experience . I don't recommend this place will NEVER come back to this place. Learn patience and practice better customer service. I'm not racist in any shape or form but I could not understand the guy was telling me. He was talking fast and I requested for him to talk slow so I could understand him. He got irritated and ask me to leave the chair. Hire stylist with better communication skills and patience. I was disgusted i walked in the barber shop next door. read more

I've been getting mediocre cuts from these barbers since March. I get my haircut often about every ten days to two weeks. I always try to give them a chance and it never works out. They always nick my beard or fade terribly. I've only given these guys a chance to break up how costly it is to get a cut from an actual barber. Their check in system is broken. I literally left the shop just now after waiting twenty minutes when someone randomly walked in and took a spot before me. It should be first come first serve and it's not. If you want low skilled people who cut hair (not barbers) this is the place for you. I Won't come back here again. read more

I have been coming to this location for almost 3 years now with only a small break as I looked for another stylist. This Is The location to get your locks trimmed! When you have limited funds like my little family and affordable price is first. Great Clips in general gets the job done. But why this location? I have found the stylists here appreciate their customers. I've tried other locations. First Hill? I actually took a clump of hair on my son's head and cut it Myself because someone there Completely Missed it??? And I saw it the moment he walked in the door? University? Aw Heck NO! That "inexpensive" haircut cost me my Only pair of real gold earrings! AND a she threatened me from her car as I waited for the bus! Here at this location we have been treated with respect and kindness. I have never walked out of this location with any negative feelings. This is a Great Clips Plus location. You get everything Great Clips offers Plus respect Plus quality Plus a smile. Money well spent. Every time. read more

Dropped in for a haircut here, with the Seattle Center and all that touristy stuff nearby. Zsuzsi on staff was available to cut my hair, and she did great work: quick, efficient, and very friendly. Job well done, would recommend. read more

Iris is great. Been coming to her for about a year now and I leave with a great haircut every time.

Tuli is great here at cutting asian hair. Good service and very helpful. I would definitely highly recommend him.

I am giving all five of these stars for Mohamed ~ I have come here over the years and had some historically bad haircuts from some others there, but that's before I found Mohamed and now I don't want anyone else to cut my hair ~ He is the best! How did Great Clips get such good luck to have him there... I hope you make sure to TIP your good stylists (and other service people)!!! If you don't tip, they are practically paying to give your their skill and service, that's basic, right?!?! read more

It's okay for what it is, I guess. The prices have gone up and it's now $25 for a men's cut. In my opinion, this is too high for the quality -- for just a little more, you can go to a much better barbershop for a higher-quality cut. For some reason they don't accept Discover, which is what I primarily use for payment. Won't be coming back for this reason. read more

I made a big mistake thinking I could here to get a quick haircut. Checked in online, waited half an hour just to get someone else to cut in front of me for a haircut. Don't trade convenience for a (at best) mediocre haircut and rude service. I had hopes as a returning customer since this place was so convenient for me; will definitely never come here again, and I'd recommend you to do the same. read more

Great hair cut from Zsuzsi. She was able to give me exactly what I asked for. She took time to ask me questions. Examine my previous haircut that was growing out (but I love it) and make me feel comfortable and at ease. I recommend her whole heartedly. read more

I've been here a few times now, figuring everyone can have a bad day, but this time will be my last visit. The first person I tried twice did not listen and cut my hair the way she wanted it to be, not what I asked for both times (same style I had, but shorter). The second person, Paula, seemed to try to cut off as little as possible both times. I asked for 3/4-1" off and got a scant 1/4" and that only on the side and back bottom - the remainder was uncut. There was barely any hair on the floor when she was "done". I came home and finished the job I had just paid for and had not received. Not sure who they think they're fooling, but I'm done with them. read more

I just spent 20 bucks including the tip on a hair cut that I would have to pay three times that much for at a trendier salon. The stylist (Katherine) was friendly and actually asked questions (imagine that!) about how I wear my hair, how I style it, what I use on it. The result is a good, clean cut and a repeat customer. Honestly, 20 freakin' bucks. read more

Never going to this ridiculous place again. Please do not waste your money here and go to some other place! My hair were cut by a male asian guy, not sure what his name was. He started cutting it very aggressively and in the first few minutes my hair was pulled like thrice. I told him to slow down. I gave him a few suggestions as to what kind of cut I wanted, I even showed him a photo. But guess what, he messed up big time. He cut it totally uneven and was in such a hurry to finish up! I am not sure how qualified these barbers are. Do they even know the basics of cutting hair! How are such people even hired. Plus even though I tried to explain him like 5 times what I wanted, he still could not understand what I was trying to say! Dont go for the cheap price here ($20) and go get a better haircut at some other place. AVOID THIS GARBAGE! read more

Mohamed was awesome! Will definitely come back. Make sure to come early to avoid waits.

A few days ago I went in for a haircut, and the barber, an Asian man with a very short haircut and who spoke English that was barely intelligible practically attacked me. I had to ask him first "Could you not hit my head so hard?" and then "Could you please be more gentle?" Finally, when he had almost nicked the lobe of my ear, I asked him to stop. I really debated whether to just get up out of the chair and come back another time. Now I'm not sure whether I will ever go back to this Great Clips location. In the end, he expected a tip. (A couple of weeks later, when my hair started to grow back, I realized as well that he had done a terrible job cutting my hair). When over to the back to talk to the owner, a congenial person, about the incident, he tried to prevent me by asking me repeatedly, "Where are you going?" I told him in a gentle but firm voice, "That is none of your business." As a racial minority whose parents were immigrants to this country, I try to be as understanding and sympathetic as I can. I also know that Asian men are routinely treated with disrespect and condescension by others and that they suffer from low self-esteem compared to other groups. I understand the frustration(s) including that of having few outlets for it. But I don't believe that being a member of a particular racial/ethnic/religious/political/sexual/collegiate/social/geographic "tribe" ("cause," category, or "group") means that one must believe that "my tribe cannot do any wrong" or that "I will and/or must not ever criticize it or any member of it." One can have a certain "loyalty" but not blind, subservient loyalty. Frankly, I don't know how this stylist can hold onto his job. What is frustrating as well is that he kept asking me the number of the clippers I should use. I told him I don't recall the numbers but that there is always a record of what was used the last time. Just go by that. This seems to happen every time the English of the barber is not great. The other Asian barber--I think his name is Luan--used to ask 5 or 6 times the same question, and I would have to repeat myself and/or try to rephrase my answer. But there are only a limited number of ways to say, "I'd like my hair on top to be such and such a length." This is not the same thing as saying "I would like you to cut off such and such length." I had to go in several days later because he hadn't done something I had wanted him to do, and he acted very strangely, as if I had done something to him. If others have mistreated him (as an Asian man), I can be sympathetic. But it is hard to be that when he turns around and takes it out on me. I don't think I'm ever going back to this Great Clips location despite the convenience. read more

Luan did a great job of cutting my hair with long layers, checked on the length before he cut, and was very precise. The salon was clean, and he was polite. There was no waiting today mid-weekday, and the location is convenient for me. The only surprise was the $25 price tag... I guess it's been a while since I've been into a Great Clips. Still, probably a bargain given its proximity to Queen Anne, SLU, and downtown. I'm sure I'll be back. read more

Great Clips - This is the god awful haircut and I went home and straightened it just to make sure I wasn't trippin! - Hair Salons Near Me - Seattle, Washington

Stopped in the other day for a last minute shampoo & haircut and left feeling like a million bucks. I went to this location a few months ago for a trim and had a good experience, so decided to give it another try. I have a very round face and asked my stylist, Hillary, for something short and cute that would complement my features. Not much direction from me, but she asked a few follow up questions then proceeded. She was careful to keep checking in with me to make sure the length was okay, and gave a few gentle styling tips without being pushy or trying to push product to strongly. Instant results: once home, I curled a few pieces around my face and crown, tosled in some hairspray, got in the elevator to leave, and a neighbor I've never met before told me that my hair looked "amazing!" It made my night! So all in all it was a great experience and I will definitely be back. Highly recommend and ask for Hillary. read more

WORST HAIR CUT EVER. Do not go to this place just because it is cheap. It was my first time here and I was attended by an elderly Asian gentleman. I literally had patches of uneven hair left on my sides. I just wanted to get my hair shorter by half inches. No new or complicated hair style. The barber had no idea what he was doing. I will have to go to a different place tomorrow to get them fixed. DO NOT GO HERE! read more

It was hot yesterday, and on my way home from shopping downtown I staggered into Great Clips and cried out, "I want to have almost no hair!" A tall guy with short hair calmly sat me down. "No hair? You mean, like hers?" He gestured at the other hair-cutter. "Yeah. Well, maybe not quite that short. It wouldn't look as good on me, my hair's bristly." "You really want it short?" "Yeah." "I don't want you to freak out on me." "Well, you can't help it if someone tells you to do something unreasonable. I'll take full responsibility!" He showed me a picture and set to work. "Yeah, it must have been hot, wasn't it?" he said. "I cut my own hair yesterday, too. It was down to here," and he gestured about the middle of his chest. This sounded strangely familiar. I looked at him in the mirror, and the memory started seeping up. One day about two years ago I had hair falling down all over my shoulders and back, tangling itself up and making itself obstructive, and when my comb wouldn't go through it I decided to try a sharper implement. Then I tied a bandanna over my head and scampered down the hill to Great Clips, crying, "Help, help! I ruined my hair!" It was that same guy, with the same short hair, who sat me down and set out to restore my aesthetic health. And he told me the same thing, that just yesterday he'd cut off his own hair, which had been halfway down his back, like mine. Odd coincidence, or just a natural response to haircutting weather? Or maybe he always keeps his hair short, and tells little fictions about its recent lengthiness to reassure his customers? I always hope to avoid hair-cutting people, they seem so disgusted with my inability to describe what I want my hair to look like. I put off getting my hair cut for years, and then try to do it myself, and then run for help. Since I'm no longer anywhere near my Chinese teacher or my ex-boyfriend's mom, it has to be commercial help. The people at Great Clips don't make my hair as pretty as it's capable of being, but their lack of superciliousness more than makes up for it. read more

NO STARS. Don't even bother getting your haircut here. Old Asian dude butchered my haircut. It's like a joke- really. I basically need to shave my head now. Thanks. To manager lady telling me I didn't need to pay for my (horrendous) haircut- thanks for stating the obvious. You should be paying me. Strange woman working there- just holding the hairdryer on her hands/legs/neck/down her shirt for minutes at a time is just creepy. If you're cold- get a coat. NEVER AGAIN. read more

Very unprofessional, rude staff. I will never return. I go to great clips 2-3 times per week to have my hair washed. I have never ever encountered such rudeness in my life. Wish I could give zero starts. Unhygienic and horrible quality cut. Demonstrated zero skill. I've been growing my hair out for over a year, had a bad feeling upon a convoluted checkin process that confused their entire staff (they have no idea what they're doing), and once I was in the chair I couldn't get out of it fast enough before he did irreparable damage to the length. The cut was horrible but I said it was ok just so I could get out of the chair. DO NOT GO HERE. read more

Went here for a drop in haircut because I felt I could no longer justify spending $70 on a deva curl cut. Staff was not especially friendly at first, but it got better. Seemed to have a few regulars which struck me as a good sign. The main thing that confused me is I entered with curly hair and left with straight hair. Why would you cut my curly hair and then blow dry it straight, then give me pointers on blow drying it straight? When that's clearly not how I wear my hair and not what I asked for? That was weird. I left with a frizzy triangle, which I have not sported since middle school. Once I got home and fixed it the cut was decent, not amazing but basically what I wanted, hence the two and not one star review. Not the worst but def not the best. All in all it left me thinking maybe it really IS worth saving up again for another haircut by a person that actually knows curly hair. read more
