GreatClips An employee there tonight stated I was a Karen". I knew it wasn't a good term so I looked it up while the other person was cutting my hair. According to many online definitions, it is a derogatory term used to describe white women. This is the definition according to Wikipedia: Karen is a pejorative term for someone perceived as entitled or demanding beyond the scope of what is appropriate or necessary. A common stereotype is that of a white woman who uses her privilege to demand her own way at the expense of others. --- I am a white women and the Great Clips employee is black. She kept running her mouth excessively even though the other employee told her repeatedly to stop and be quiet. I told her this incident would not end tonight and that I would be consulting other resources and calling corporate Monday morning. What if I had decided to hurl a racial slur at her? Would that be acceptable? This is a racial slur and it is absolutely not acceptable to me and I can assume not acceptable to any other white woman. My next stop was to Kroger to pick up groceries and the attendant was a young black girl. I asked her if she knew what a Karen was and she said absolutely. She was astonished that a Great Clips employee would call a customer that. The Great Clips employee, Trinia, was still talking when I said I was calling corporate and tried to make excuses for calling me that but I told her that it was her choice to open her mouth and use that word. No one is to blame for her actions but her and Great Clips if they fail to take action, because trust me, I am going to explore every possible avenue. read more

Since I have moved to savannah, this was the place I have decided to use for my hair cuts. You can check in online and save a lot of wait time. Overall, it has been pretty clean every time I have been in there. I have had many different people cut my hair and there is only one person I will let touch my hair anymore. If you want a decent haircut, you need to go see Kim. I've been pretty upset with some of the haircuts I've gotten here, but Kim is the only one that still works there that has never made me feel disappointed. Everyone else that works there seems to get fired or leave all the time so nobody has been consistent and I hate that because I am VERY particular about my hair and everybody has different cutting styles. Honestly I really do think the place as a whole deserves 3 stars, but I would individually give Kim 5 stars, because she deserves it. read more

My 9 year old son and I stopped into the Towne Center location. I utilized your online app for our check in process. My sons hair was cut my a barber by the name of Chris. He asked if I wanted the same cut my son (Ty) received on his previous cut. I advised him yes. This was a typical boys hair cut; short on the top and parted to the side. I was called back shortly after by Crystal. I advised her of the cut I wanted, then showed her a picture. My sons hair was finished well before mine, so I asked him to wait in the waiting area. I did observe that his hair was not styled, and he was combing it back using his fingers. Crystal was very professional and we chatted the entire cut, which lasted roughly 20 minutes including her styling my hair. I walked to the register and paid for both cuts, then left her a $10 tip and my son's barber (Chris) a $5 tip. We then left to meet my wife at the Wal-Mart via walking. On the walk I observed his neck was very red, so I took a picture of it. After walking into Wal-Mart I could clearly see he had blood running down his neck and had been cut in several places (7 total areas that the skin was broken and he had bleed out from). He had not scratched the area whatsoever. I also oberserved his hair was still hanging down in his eyes and his fade was uneven in several places. I drove back to the location and waited to speak with Chris. I informed him, then showed him my sons neck. His reaction was to walk over and attempt to run the lacerations off. I advised him they had been bleeding and what happened. He stated that they were not there when he cut the hair. He then stated he would fix his hair. The customer that just had his hair cut, a man in his 20's or 30's, advised his cut had hurt his neck as well and he felt as though he may be bleeding as well. He then asked me to check his neck. I advised him it looked very irritated. He stated that he thought Chris did not seem to know what he was doing. Chris sat my son back down, and took approximately 5 minutes to cut his hair. His hair was still hanging in his eyes after and I could see uneven lengths on his head. I told him it still looked bad and I was not happy. He did not state anything, so I began to walk out. At that time, Crystal walked over and asked if she could fix his hair. I stated that would be great and waited approximately 10-15 minutes for her to finish her client, then fix my sons hair. I walked outside during this time due to not wanting to be anywhere near Chris. I was still so flustered that he had cut him in so many places and did not advise me. When Crystal finished she walked Ty outside, then stated to just use some peroxide on the lacerations and she hoped they didn't scab too badly. I asked her if she could transfer the tip I left for Chris to her account. She said she could not. This made me much more upset that I had to pay your location and him for this butchery that he did on my sons head. I think something should be done about this barber and will be posting warnings to as many sites as I can about him, due to Crystal advising this has happened before in the past. read more

Pretty terrible haircut, but I had low expectations. Only pro is they are open on Sunday, I was desperate and my normal barber was on vacation. It wasn't worth the risk. My barber was friendly and quick, but really didn't listen to what I wanted and when she turned me around, I looked ridiculous. I wound up just having her shave it all so I look like a recruit now. This is the first time ever walking into a salon to have my grandson hair cut and meet with immediate distain. First the gir at the desk start by not saying hello, but start off by say what they can't do, we inform her of what we want then she acts very apprehensive like we're lying just to get in a chair. So we sit and wait to get in chair, then this other girl comes to the front desk and again immediately says look I can't do no fade, we again tell her and she too acts as if she doesn't understand what we want or believes us. This is the worst salon along with the girls who work her have serious customer service problems. I won't ever return. read more

I wish I could give them 0 stars. My fiancé went in a little over a week ago to get a trim. He told the (I wouldn't even call her a hair dresser) lady her name is Tammy, that we were getting married in 2 weeks and just wanted to trim it a little bit. Even though he told her we were getting married soon she was still rushing. I met up with him after and he asked me to look at his hair because it didn't look quite right. Well it was awful! His bangs and everything else was all uneven, a chunk was missing above his left ear, and his neck wasn't shaved. I was livid. We went back up there and showed the manager and the front desk lady. All they could say was how sorry they were. Well I wished I could say it was ok but no it's not. Because we're getting married in 2 weeks. Tammy didn't even come over and say sorry or anything to us even tho she saw we were there. They returned his money. So last weekend he went to a Real salon with people who actually have a license to cut hair. And had to shave it super short on the sides to make it all even. These are our wedding photos and now he's gonna have his hair like he never has it. Never again will he ever go back to great clips! I don't even know how they keep open with results like that! I mean how can a "hair dresser" be ok with there client walking out like that. This place is awful beware!! read more

I'm going to change my rating to 4 stars. When I went in to get my hair washed I didn't have a wait. I'm sure that I will eventually figure out how to check in before I actually get there but it's not really a big deal. I don't use Great Clips to cut or style my hair anymore because I can't get the same stylist every time; and with hair like mine I don't just trust anyone. I use great Clips to wash my hair when I'm having ear issues and don't want to take it chance on getting water in my ears. I did get my hair cut there but they let both Mary and Holly go, consistently if key in my opinion. read more

Had a great experience at this Great Clips. Checked in online and only had to wait about 5 minutes to see someone. Went for a typical men's cut: 2 clippers on the side and take a little off the top. The stylist took about 15-20 minutes and I was done. Cut looks great and will definitely be going back. read more

I went in for a simple cut on Saturday afternoon. One gentleman walked in before me. This was my first visit to this Great Clips, but I've used them elsewhere for decades. One lady took my information and I say down. The last cut was finished and chatting. No one was cutting hair. Another women then tells me that it will be nearly an hour because people are registered online. I went down the road waited 10 minutes and got a very professional cut from another shop. No reason to waste money on lazy service and silly processes. read more

Horrible customer service. The ladies cutting hair barely welcomed me. All I received was a quiet and force-felt hello. Needless to say, I just walked out before they called my name (I was the only one in the place). The lady still cutting hair and blatantly not acknowledging my existence gave me a snotty and condescending "goodbye, have a FABULous day". Great clips used to be a fine place to get an affordable haircut from stylists that had the smallest amount of experience besides Barbie dolls. If this is how the store is ran, I would strongly consider the owner of this franchise to reevaluate their status for maximum success for the long-term. Fire all of your employees. Absolute worst place EVER!!!!!!!!!! The last time (and also the first) that I was there, the lady cutting my my hair gave me me a hair cut identical to Kim Jung Un. Today, their computer was down and they couldn't accept a gift card (or any other) and wouldn't work with me at all. This place is on a small island and I live directly across the street. I tried several things from bringing cash tomorrow or leaving my gift card and offered to let them double charge me. I told them I have an interview in the morning at 9:30, but they couldn't have cared less. It makes sense why they had only one customer in there and it was likely one too many. While this island is one big wonderful community, those rednecks clearly are not a part of it. I will never go to another Great Clips. I have to say I was in the Great Clips Tuesday 4-26-16 and a lady named Tina cut my hair it was the worst haircut I've ever had in my entire life she was rude i have to say it may 0f taken her A her a whole three minutes to cut my hair I asked her not to cut my sideburns up and she cut my sideburns ONE SIDE IS SHORTER THEN THE OTHER BEWARE !!!!!!!! SHE SAID NO ITS FINE I SAID Tina my hair is chopped up . then when I call back to speak with a manager she said this is Tina can I help you great Tina is the manager she was very RUDE toYOU WILL BE very disappointed and be waiting months for your hair to grow back not only did I get a bad haircut but I got a manager who was very rude acting as if i cut my own hair like it was my fault that my hair got messed up I went to another salon and had them them fix it and spending $65 to get my hair fixed do not go get your haircut at this location.
