Service here has declined considerably. I made the mistake of stepping out for a few minutes and was really suprised when my kid texted that he was already done. The fade was low and uneven and poorly blended. Despite me asking for a high fade and short hair on top, the top part wasnt even touched. Looked like he was just rushed through. To make it worse, he had clumps of cut hair sitting on top of his ear so they didnt even do a good job brushing it off. There's a lot of different hair dressers that cycle through here and I have had some great experiences but clearly their management is unable to retain good experienced staff and maybe adding less experienced hair dressers. Went in to Riverbank shop for haircut this morning, first in door. I was given a stylist who had just arrived on her first day at salon, still wheeling in her tools she was ushered to a station with no training, not even a tour of building. My haircut was atrocious, the other stylist had to come over to try and fix it but nothing could fix the damage done! When I got home and looked in mirror there were chunks missing, uneven cutting and it was not faded. This is the second time the cut has been substandard but this cut was absolutely the worst! I could have done better with a weed whacker! Not happy at all!!! read more

Just walked out of Great Clips in Riverbank so upset. I didn't even want to give them one star because I rather not give them any stars. I've gone to this Great Clips because it's so convenient for us because it's so close to my home. I bring my 4 year old autistic son to get his hair cut here and there is one lady who normally cuts my son's hair and I am always leaving happy with her and she is also really nice. Her chair is the first one on the left. Today she was not in though. There was a Hispanic lady with a piercing near her lip and an older Caucasian lady. We always check in on before going to the shop because we have been told to do so. So going there a few times already, we already know how their system works. We checked in and it's 45 minutes waiting on the app. I'll get a text 15 minutes before and it'll tell me to head over. I always have to wait 15 minutes there so I wait it out till the time says 15 minutes on my app before going. It also tells you where on the list you are at in line. I noticed our time went up but I didn't mind. When I seen it was 19 minutes till, I got my son ready to go. Today my husband wanted to tag along because he is never able to get home on time but today he was. Well we got to the salon and the Hispanic lady checked us in. There was One gentleman with his son waiting , and another man by himself. A man walks-in as a check in, the hispanic lady told him it will be a 35 minute wait. The man was ok with that. She then called the man up that was by himself and cuts his hair. My husband left with my son to GameStop to keep my son occupied while waiting. It's already been 15 minutes that we've been waiting. My husband comes back with my son and we continue to wait. The man with the son gets called up. I looked at the app and it was already our turn and our name was before him. I thought maybe we were waiting for the other lady because she had cut my son's hair one time before. I then noticed that no one was acknowledging us or even telling us anything. It seems like they were avoiding eye contact with us as well. Then instead of calling us up, they called the man up who was a walk-in. My husband was fed up. It's a hot day today and my son gets excited to get hair cut. So we just got up and walked out. My son started crying and I told my husband I had to go back in and tell them something. I walk in and the hispanic lady tells me we were next to be called up. She then try's to tell me that there is another schedule that they go by for walk-in customers separated from the ones who checks in. I told her she was lying. And how is that possible when she told the man it was a 35 minute wait when he came in and he gets called up within 15 minutes after. This is ridiculous!! Instead of apologizing, she was giving me excuses and lies. She then just told me "well ok", like she didn't want to hear from me and just wanted me to leave. What sucks about all this, is that after all the good experiences we had here, it takes only ONE bad experience to ruin it all. My son is ending his special needs program that he's been attending at for 2 years and graduating this week. He wanted to get a hair cut today so he can take a picture with his teacher tomorrow. But I had to tell him we had to leave and mommy will find him another place to get his hair cut tomorrow. With a sad face, he said ok. Im very upset with their service at this location. Worthless location. Attempted to check in online, and got a notification that "Online check-ins are fully booked". Decided to try to walk in, instead. Walked in to an empty salon, and a few stylists chatting in one of the front booths. After asking if I'd checked in online, and explaining it wouldn't allow me to; the stylist turned to her co-workers and began whispering amongst each other; only to turn back to me and say they weren't accepting walk-ins due to the amount of online check-ins. Again, I looked around the salon, as it was barren of any other customers. Laughed at the ridiculousness as I walked out. This isn't the first issue with this location, either. Their Online Check-in service is trash. The queue will jump from, let's say 20 minutes, up to 60+ Minutes, without any particular reason other than possibly a shift-change? Bottom line-- If you're looking for a decent haircut from a staff that cares, then try the Dale Road location. This location is a bummer. read more

I get there a little early, so I expected to wait a few minutes. What I didn't expect that it 45 minutes would elapse, they still did not call my son's name. Come to find out that there were a few more people ahead of us. After an hour, I walked out. At the front desk there was a paper saying that they were short staffed. There have been times when I had to work with a short staff. I understand that. What I don't understand is them telling me it will be 26 minutes and it is over an hour. If it will be over an hour, tell me that. If they told me that, I would not have been able to wait that day, but I would have tried again in the future. read more

I went in showed pictures as an example to the look I was going for. Said what I liked and didn't want to happen. From the length I wanted to go with and to have an undercut. In the end none of it happened to my advantage. My hair was everything that you fear would happen. It was butchered. I was extremely upset. I had another lady to fix what she could. (Didn't trust the first one to continue.) Left in tears to how it looked. Yes, I did cuss. The sorry's could not make up for the damage done. They use the pandemic as an excuse as to why they are low on staff but reality is, the staff turnover is crazy. Also, when cutting hair, staff is VERY slow. Went to get a haircut today and asked for a low bald fade. Even showed her where I wanted the fade line at. She then proceeded to give me almost a high and tight even though I told her I wanted it low and didn't want the top or sides cut because I wanted to grow it out. When I asked her if she knew I wanted a low fade and why she was cutting it so high she just said "sorry let me fix it" and continued to cut it higher. The only reason I generously gave this salon two stars is because Diane is great! Meanwhile, Stylist Teri bypassed customers who had previously checked in online and were waiting, for her "friend customers" that came in. Very unprofessional and she didn't think anyone noticed- really!?! To top it off, she took her sweet time with them, shampooing their hair and then only charging them $12.99 when an adult cut is $15 and shampoo an additional $5. Wow!! There was also a rookie stylist cutting and it took her over 40 min to do a basic fade on a male customer which she totally messed up. Had to call over another stylist to "fix" her mistakes. Yikes!! I checked in online and it said there was a wait of 109 minutes. We got there and checked in, at the same time a woman and her son came in and they asked them if they had check in online. The woman said no and she was told it would be over an hour wait. The woman said that was ok, she would leave put their name in, leave for a bit an come back. After 2 hours, I asked where were on the list. The woman I asked had a bit of an attitude, but she looked it up and told me we were 4th on the list. They had 5 stylists working, so I figured it wouldn't be much longer. 20 minutes later they had called 6 people, and still not called us. One of the 6 called was the son of the woman who had walked in earlier and had not checked in online, so I knew we should have been up before them. I got up again and asked another woman, who also had an attitude, and she said there were still people ahead of me and that when I was told there only 4 that people who had checked in online must have shown up in between.
