I love Great Clips, they offer such an affordable haircut! This is the location I usually go to and I've had a great experience every time. Jessica cut my hair today and she did an amazing job! She cut it perfectly to the length I wanted, added layers, and some framing. It looks great and feels great. Jessica asked multiple times if there was anything else she could do and made sure I was satisfied with the length and the style before I left the chair. I appreciate how thorough she was as I only get my hair cut once a year, maybe twice at most. I just let it grow out and then when the weather gets hot, I chop it off. read more

After being at another location I came here for help, a recut....Edna, the assistant manager listened to my situation, smiled and said let me help you. She was so good to clean up the poor job from the day before. She was so good in making a bad situation good. If you want someone to listen ask questions and make you feel great walking out with a clean haircut ask for Edna. read more

Went for an in-between trim. Was greeted, and seated in no wait time. The trim was carefully and thoughtfully done to frame my face. No clippers, done all by carefully framing with manual expertise. That said the front is longer than the back length of hair and disappointing read more

THIS REVIEW IS IN REFERENCE TO GREAT CLIPS at 165 SE CARY PKWY, CARY, NC. I took my CHILD for the shampoo service, which entails the shampoo with partial blow dry. 70% is the actual wording given to me by a Great Clips employee that is a relative (years ago I might add) and also the service my daughter and myself have received on several occasions from a diff location. This location had two white employees working upon entry, one signed me in and I explicitly asked the service and cost which she confirmed. The other employee finished first and then began "cleaning" until another customer entered the location and took them in front of my daughter. After additional waiting the employee that checked us in left without notice and another employee entered to take my daughter to the to the shampoo bowl. While there she made slick comments about my daughter having "this" type of hair. She offered no towel or cape while getting it done so my daughter had to ask for a towel. She then proceeded to blow dry her hair in its natural state. How stupid that is I can't even begin to describe but when she said she was finished I walked over to her. she told me she put a lot of conditioner in it - ?? - then I asked but why are you not drying that with a brush. Her immediate response was that is considered a style. I corrected her according to what the lady that checked me in said; she then changed her response and said she couldn't because of surgery she had on her wrist. I told her directly I'm not paying for a service that wasn't completed And the lady before her should have informed me of that and we left. I then proceeded to call corporate and make a complaint Outside. The manager calls me about 30 min later and did the typical white woman retort: I'm not trying to defend anyone but I wasn't there; I will correct the employees on this process or that; her conclusion summed up to be I was irate due to an additional price that would have been endured for doing the dry service "with a brush". As always white people especially women dismiss acts against black people particularly black women to justify misdeeds called out due to racial biases. I made sure to tell the employee that did my daughters hair I was displeased, how when white women do such things to black people it can ONLY be perceived as personal, and to add that lady was of another ethnicity herself. And before ending the call with that piss poor excuse of a manager I made sure to inform her I will never return to that location. read more

Horrible experience. Avoid this place. First trip: I came about 40 minutes before closing and the woman at the counter asked if I had "checked in" on their app. I had not. She said they had a 34 minute wait. She was very polite. I offered to come another day, and said it was usually very busy after 6pm but I should check in on their app. Second trip: I came at 5pm, and immediately the woman (a different one) asked if I checked into their app. I said no, but I could wait the 31 minutes. She asked for my phone number. I said no thanks. She was immediately angry and irritated with me. She said they NEED a phone number or they are incapable of cutting hair. To appease her, I gave her the number 123-4567. She was furious. She had clearly never met another person who valued their privacy before, even a little. She whipped around and called for her colleague or manager and said "he needs to ask you questions" and then stormed off. I did not have questions. She just had a major attitude problem and didn't want to speak with me any more. I just wanted a person to take my money and cut my hair. This second woman, more polite, asked for my number. I said I'm not comfortable giving that out. She said the ONLY WAY they can process me in their system was with a phone number. I didn't say another word, and left quietly. No, I will not give you my phone number. I do not want to be entered into your database. I will not inject your data-harvesting spyware on my phone. I will not give you my photo ID, my social security number, my blood type, or my bank PIN. Evidently, the only way you can remove hair from my head is by abusing my privacy. This is a disgusting business practice, and should not become the norm. "Great" Clips is also discriminating against customers who cannot afford a phone and monthly mobile service. I can go to any other hair salon or barber shop, give them money, and they will give me a service. No attitude. I can go to a gas station, restaurant, or clothing store with cash in my hand, and leave with products and services. No phone number required, no dumb app, no ID. Just cash. And they certainly won't throw you dirty looks and act like you're burdening them if you prefer not to share your personal info. I guess you get what you pay for. This is what you get for rock bottom prices. I should've checked Yelp first to see the disappointing 3.9 stars, instead of relying on the positive 4.4 star rating on google maps. Then I would have saved myself two trips. Lots of other people are also reporting issues with the awful customer service here. Never going back again. PS: To be clear, the woman on day one (short with glasses), and the second one on day 2 were very polite. The first one on day 2 was the one with a major attitude, and soured my experience. And for anyone wondering, no I don't have Yelp or Google Maps apps on my phone. read more

Just moved to area; I've used Great Clips in the past so decided to give this location a go. Was not disappointed, service is efficient but does not sacrifice quality. Staff is always friendly and makes sure to give a cut to your liking. I've been back 3 times since my first visit, and have been satisfied all times. read more

Not all Great Clips are awesome, but the one in Brier Creek is fantastic thanks to their wonderful hair stylists. It's rare that we ever have a bad cut here. Heidi cut my son's hair yesterday and he looks like a new man! It was exactly what he wanted. She took her time with him even though it was right at closing, and she did a great job. Thanks Heidi! read more

My experience today was amazing. I have been to this location multiple times, but today was different. I want to shout out the person who cut my hair. Heavy upselling today. I came in for a haircut. The stylist tried selling me some dandruff and balding shampoo. Bosley I think. I said no thanks. If I want upselling I'll go to Sport Clips where I like the tea tree shampoo. read more

GC - BRIER CREEK is my "go to" place when I'm pushed for time and need to have my hair cut to precision! Admittedly, MARCIA is my GC barber of choice; she has always delivered a FABULOUS but FAST CUT. My style is cut extremely short with definite attention to detail. Marcia I love the CHECK-IN system because It frees me from overthinking my calendar. Since I am generally between errands, grabbing a NO-WAIT haircut with Marcia MAKES MY DAY! And, I love customer appreciation days when the haircuts are GREATLY REDUCED, e.g. $6.99, $7.99 or even getting receipts which sometimes give a couple bucks (or more) discount on future services. My first time here at Great Clips, Briar Creek. Tanya was fantastic! She listened to what I wanted and gave me a couple of suggestions. My cut came out great. When I got home my wife told me that this was the best cut that I had over the past year! I highly recommend Great Clips for "the best haircut" at a most reasonable cost. Oh, and the wait time was very short even though all stylists were busy. See you in a few weeks!! read more

Will never go here again. The stylist did a very poor job of trimming my hair. I felt like she was rushing even after I waited for an hour. I was a walk in but felt like they did not want me there at all. Such an unwelcome feeling. Had to give one star only so I could post this review. read more

Marcia is great! Very few stylists can handle my cowlick well and she does great every time I go.

awful, every time I've been here in the past few years they have destroyed my hair entirely. never coming here again, they hire inexperienced mediocre barbers who can only cut short read more

They don't follow directions or know how to style properly. Showed her a photo of exactly what I wanted that included long on top then medium then short and instead she buzzed half my head to an incredibly short length that I did not want and can't be fixed without having to wait for it to grow back out then get fixed at a professional salon someplace else. Even the part that was buzzed is choppy and does not match the other side. read more

A big sign on the store window said do a yelp check in to get $2 off . I got my haircut . As I went to pay I showed them my screen that had the check in button on it . I said can I check in to get the yelp $2 of . . She said you have to check in first and show me the check in. So I pressed the check in button in front of her . She said you should have checked in before the service was done . But that is not what she initially said and . That's not what the sign said and that is not how any business does it . You do a yelp check in before you pay and present it at the register . So bogus . It's false Marketibg and definitely deceptive advertising . read more

I live about a 5-8 min walk from this location of Great Clips and this has been my go-to location for haircuts for the past 3 years or so! The app and their website makes online checkins very easy (which I strongly recommend to all) as this saves a ton of time, lets you know how much your wait time will be, and also bumps you up the queue against people who DID NOT checkin online but merely walked in. So, if you plan a bit ahead of time, you can always minimize your wait time but keep in mind certain times and days are always going to be busier than usual. The haircut experience itself has always been quick and pleasant for me. Since they keep a record of your last haircut they print off a piece of paper reminding them and you what you did last time you were there. This is also useful because it could be a different person cutting your hair compared to last time. Special shoutout to Tony who usually cuts my hair and we always have a fun chat about all topics and whatnot! One tip from me to potential customers would be to be patient and clear on what kind of haircut you want, and your hairdresser/barber will usually accommodate and make suggestions based on their experience and also based on your own head shape and hair because not every hair style works on every head. read more

Worst haircut ever. I even showed her a picture of what I wanted.. I went from long hair to a dated, short uneven hair cut and she cut out 60% of my recent highlights. Uhm, thanks? Never told her to cut my hair 'up' in the back, just a simple bob with layers. Even with a coupon, it was a waste of money. I guess I'll get the baseball caps out for the next couple of months... read more

I've all ready been here twice and will definitely be returning. The ladies that cut my hair so far are amazing and so sweet. The price for the haircut is also such a deal! I have spent a small fortune on some haircuts and most of them weren't even as good as Great Clips! 5 stars, y'all! read more

Well first off, they're allowing people to sit inside and not disinfecting them afterwards, but my big concern was the way they are handling online check ins, they have you check in online and wait these ridiculous times and then told you have to wait in line when arriving. Completely useless system and pointless to have if I'm waiting still. Also be mindful of who is cutting your hair. Some of them do not listen to what you ask for and go rogue and still charge you full price after they give the worst haircut of your life. read more

All the stylists are nice - some more than others. Easy online check in which we use most of the time due to the long wait times. The shop is clean and uncluttered. They also have shampoo and styling products for sale at the front of the store. Stylists are a bit chatty with each other but all very friendly and appropriate conversations. I bring my son here frequently to get his hair cut and also to get my own hair trimmed. We are always very satisfied with our cuts and my son likes that they have lollipops for the end of his :) We also love getting coupons to make their cheap prices even cheaper! read more

If you enjoy paying your hard-earned money to be treated rudely by a hateful stylist, then when you complain and no one from the franchise can be bothered to contact you about it despite assurances from the corporate level...then this is your place! Thanks Tony, I have always enjoyed speaking with you. Your customer service skills are unparalleled. The same cannot be said for the stylist that I had the misfortune to 'land' a few weeks back. No, you will not quiz me about what I want done, then become impatient/curt/rude with me when I fail to express my wishes to your liking...and then expect me to pay money for this. Doesn't work for me, so bye Great Clips! read more

Walked in and was taken back immediately. Hair stylist asked my preference and gave me the cut I wanted. Great music and camaraderie between the stylists. Fun experience and a great price! Highly recommend and will definitely be back. $2 discount for Yelp checkin! read more

I would give this place 0 stars, but since I can't. I give it a 1 star. This woman with a bob cut, first of all..... was extremely passive aggressive towards me when I was in the chair. And I couldn't even stand up for myself because she had scissors in her hand. I have a simple cut something I get every time especially at this location. She didn't seem to like me so took it out on my hair. Can't tell if she just actually sucks or what. But it's extremely choppy and uneven. My hair means a lot to me and when somebody disrespects my hair, they disrespect me. Says she has an extreme amount of experience, but where it at lol. If you come to this location and see her... RUN FOR YOUR LIFE. I understand great clips is the average haircut place, but still all hairdressers need to have the same expertise. Will not be coming back and I bet bob haired lady is fine with that. But you should refrain from giving her business due to her POOR ATTITUDE AND BEHAVIOR towards me. kind of annoying that I felt unsafe to speak up because I thought she would physically hurt me. read more

I have been coming here for 4 years and never had a bad experience. They work with my brother who is quadriplegic, and work really fast

My regular stylist moved to another location. I figured, it's only been two weeks since the last cut, someone else should be able to do it. I was wrong. The lady was only concerned with how short I wanted it and when I suggested the hair cut, she suggested something else. "This is what I would do here, do you want me to do that instead." No, I don't. Now, I look like I'm in second grade again and my mom cut my hair. *sigh* the haircut was rushed, it's not even, and generally looks terrible. I paid and tipped her but going somewhere else tomorrow to see if they can fix it. Sometimes you gamble and it pays off. Sometimes you lose. I lost. If you just need a simple haircut (i.e. 1 on the sides, 2 on the top), this is the place for you. Otherwise, look elsewhere. I will not be back again. Honestly, the lady should have said I'm not comfortable cutting this style when I asked her. read more

Great haircut and service! Line was short, and all the employees were friendly and professional.

Worst haircut ever. All I asked for was short on the side and medium on top. Nope I had to constantly ask if she could get a spot because the stylist missed pieces and worst yet go home and even out my sideburns and cut around my ears myself. It sucks that there are so many hair salons in Brier Creek but none seem to even sub par. Going to an actual Barber to get my hair fixed tomorrow. read more

I enjoyed Tony's professionalism and warm personality. It was a great way to start a cold Monday morning and my hair looks GREAT!

Worst hair cut I've ever had in my life! My hair is slightly long on top and and shorter at the sides with a taper so that the transition from the sides to the top is not noticeable. Well, the woman who cut my hair at Great Clips cut it very short at the sides, unevenly and then abruptly leaves some hair longer which was cut so short that it sticks up on the top with no fade. It looks completely ridiculous. read more
