I used to go to this salon for haircut and perm for several years. Last month I went because I forgot why I stopped going for 5 years. I showed the owner a picture of what I wanted the curls and the hairstyle to look like. I always thought it was our responsibility to tell the hairstylist instead of let them improvise. I waited almost an hour. I had to tell them the rollers were too hot. I had to tell them the timer went off. Unsurprisingly, my hair was fried. At the end, I was told to go with the wet hair so that the curls would stay. It doesn't look remotely like the picture I showed. I understand the hair in the picture was styled with a lot of products, but my curls looked like I did it myself. I am never going again. I need to remember that.

It almost changes my texture as my hair has a tendency to fall into these beachy style waves, unless I blow dry it straight. Before those waves would be half straight/half wavy due to the weight of my hair. For my thick hair girls, I highly advise to try a Japanese hair cut once in your life and see if it has you coming back. Be sure to bring an inspirational photo to help show what you are looking for.
