For a bleach, color, and cut with washing in between, that's quite a short time! I was comfortable throughout, as Kaz made sure to keep asking if I was okay (bleach can sting the scalp) and only needed to show the stylist the reference pictures a few times. I used to go to this salon for haircut and perm for several years. Last month I went because I forgot why I stopped going for 5 years. I showed the owner a picture of what I wanted the curls and the hairstyle to look like. I always thought it was our responsibility to tell the hairstylist instead of let them improvise. I waited almost an hour. I had to tell them the rollers were too hot. I had to tell them the timer went off. Unsurprisingly, my hair was fried. At the end, I was told to go with the wet hair so that the curls would stay. It doesn't look remotely like the picture I showed. I understand the hair in the picture was styled with a lot of products, but my curls looked like I did it myself. I am never going again. I need to remember that.

Jenny was so throughout and professional. She evaluated my hair and gave me step by step procedure how she would fix it and bring it to where I would want it. Terry has a way of cutting and thinning it out so that it lays smooth and creates a natural framing style for my face. It almost changes my texture as my hair has a tendency to fall into these beachy style waves, unless I blow dry it straight. Before those waves would be half straight/half wavy due to the weight of my hair. For my thick hair girls, I highly advise to try a Japanese hair cut once in your life and see if it has you coming back. Be sure to bring an inspirational photo to help show what you are looking for. The salon is located inside Ovation Salon off of Dallas PKwy (behind Sixty Vines). He plays very relaxing traditional Japanese ( I believe) music while he cuts.

I only got a cut and it was around $60. The place is very easy to find and he works in a little suite. I showed Terry my inspiration picture and he executed it perfectly! He did go a little shorter than I originally intended but I still loved the cut regardless. Was super gentle when washing my hair. We didn't really converse during my session but I didn't mind since I can tell he was concentrated on his work. Schedule ahead if you plan to see Terry since he gets booked out about a month or so in advance. If you ever need a good hair stylist that will execute your wishes, go see Terry!
