I told the girl that i wanted to donate my hair and it had to be 8 inches . normally they tie the hair in a pony tail and then cut it so it stays together nice and neat. she didnt listen to me and cut away and put the hair on a tissue. I get home measure the hair and its not even 8 inches like i requested. my hair cut is not even straight. we demanded a refund and they wanted to fix my hair but i refused to let them touch my hair again. Not a good place to go when looking for a good haircut. The people cutting your hair are always in a rush for no reason and they mess up like crazy. I was in desperate need for a haircut and could not attend my normal barber so this was my only back up plan. Upon walking in, all I could do was pray that she would not mess up and oh boy was I wrong! I have had multiple occasions (at least 3) in which my haircut has been too short in places it shouldn't, when the barber didn't listen to my requests properly. She seemed nervous, and I ended up with a very choppy, uneven cut that had odd longer strands that she missed. This place is atrocious and has destroyed my hair cutting experience to an extent that I will not be using Great Clips anymore. I would give it 0 stars if I could. To start with, we were first asked if we had checked in 3 separate times, and then when one of the ladies got confused we were yelled at. I explained several times that I had picked plus one and that it said that on the screen because she kept asking and then the last time I was told to "calm down" because she finally listened to what I said. Then the same woman asked my boyfriend if he was "visiting" which was completely unfounded and interesting since he is Indian. Following that we showed her a photo of what we wanted and she laughed and said "I'll handle it" and then proceeded to not know what she was doing at all. She kept asking him what to do and in the end he just told her to stop because it was so disastrous. On my end, my employee kept me waiting for ten minutes after my bf was taken in, randomly going to the back and slowly cleaning up even though we were taken in together. And PLEASE, dear god Great clips tell your employees to stop asking what shampoo people use because I am NOT interested in buying your sponsored shampoo brand, especially when you loudly insult my hair in the process of selling it to me. I also told her that I wanted two inches off for now and would see if I wanted more, and when I decided to get two more inches, she told me that she would have to charge me if I kept asking. What? She also didn't even give me the U cut I asked for. On top of all of this, we chose to give no tip for either of them because it was such a terrible experience, and she openly called it out and asked me to give her something while returning my bill to me. I was so excited to get my hair cut and layered to look glamorous like a kardashian. I came in with long dead hair and came out with short dead hair that made me look like a creepy 5 year old meets a soccer mom from the 1980s. I never wondered what I'd look like with a mullet but now I know. I think I'd have rather kept that vision a mystery. On the bright side hair grows back. On another bright side it's much less hair to manage now. On the dark side I look like an Oompa Loompa. It really makes me want to tell everyone I know to hold onto their hair and cherish how their hair looks now because it could always be worse. I've been there twice but will not be coming back due to my last experience. I met up without an appointment and didn't have to wait long. The lady who cut my hair did not speak much English, and I had a feeling that when I explained which type of haircut I'd like to have, that she didn't pay attention to what I told her. As the haricut came along, it was obvious that she hadn't listened to what I said at all. I tried to give her some time to see if things changed, but as it quickly seemed that she just wanted to get this over with, I kindly asked her if she could cut my sides shorter. She reacted very charply as if asking who was I to tell her how to cut my hair! It got very uncomfortable and I just wanted to get out of there. Terrible, terrible experience. Right when we started the haircut, about 10 seconds in, I realized that this would probably not be a very good haircut. When I explained what I wanted to the hair stylist (her name was Rimpy), it was obvious she was not listening to me at all (RED FLAG), as she kept laughing at what another hair stylist was saying and not even listening to me. In fact, I did not like the atmosphere at all, because all the stylists were talking, gossiping, and laughing across the room, that I don't think any of them were paying attention to the customers nor the haircuts the hairstylists were giving. Next, as she began cutting my hair, it seemed obvious that she did not care at all about what she was doing. She used one hand to hold the hairclipper, and just rolled it up from the base of my neck to the top of my head, while looking at the other hair stylist! She wasn't even looking at what she was doing! At that point, I knew I was in for a horrible ride. I'm used to hair stylists using a comb with one hand to guide where they would cut with the hair clippers (in the other hand). It was obvious she did NOT care about my hair at all. I don't know how you can give a good haircut when you're not even looking at the hair you're cutting. I tried to talk to her and comment on my hair so that she would actually start looking at what she was doing, but it didn't help much. Near the end of the haircut, she started making excuses for why my hair did not look good, and saying that's the way my hair is (RED FLAG). The only good part about the place was that fact that I was able to walk in and receive a haircut immediately but trust me -- it's not worth it. This place is by far the worst place to get a hair cut. I knew from the minute I walked it it would be a train wreck, but I was hoping I was wrong. The minute I walked in there were 4 stylists at the computer trying to use it and one of them was just standing there yelling at everyone. Another one reaches for the computer, pushing the one lady back and starts using it and the one that was yelling at everyone starts yelling at her for reaching in (totally understand her aggravation, but professionalism should've taken over at that time). Right there and then I knew I should've walked, but I was in desperate need of a hair cut. I just had this nagging feeling this was going to be a nightmare. So I get the one that reached in for the computer. She was half my height and barely spoke English. She takes my information and tells me to go to a chair. I do and she asks me what do I want so I tell her the way I tell everyone who cuts my hair. "Shave the side and trim the top, but try to even it out. At my usual place I get a 1 1/2 on the side." So she proceeds and I realize she went way too short. (My usual barber must do something else with the sheers or uses an attachment that is 1 1/2.) So I tell her and she complains to me and says, "but you say shave! you say shave! Why you tell me shave then!" I let it go and just ignore her. So she takes the 1 1/2 around my hair line and then uses another longer attachment to do the upper side of my hear. Here's the kicker. You can clearly tell where she switched the heads because she didn't bother fading it up. Now she goes for the top. She starts using the clippers on the right side of my head but I guess she got tired or bored and starts using the sheers again. While shes cutting the top of my head she stops and again asks me, "Why you tell me to use 1 1/2 on you if you didn't want it? You said you wanted shave." I said it fine and just let it go again. She continues to cut my hair and tries to do the top but had a hard time seeing so she asks me to lay down a little.... So I slouch down. She said more. So now I'm sitting on the chair with my hips off the chair. At this point I just want it all to be done. She spent most of the time on the right side of my head and just goes over the side. Next thing I know she tells me I'm done. I look at the mirror and you can tell the left side is longer that the right. I was fed up with the experience so I just go up paid and left. I have been visiting this great clips after a bad experience at the Princeton location (7 year client.) this is the best great clips from all of the local branches. Heidi and Carla do a really great job with my two sons hair cuts. They listen and do a great job. A new woman-Kristen recently cut my hair. It was the best cut I've had in a long while. I usually give enough opportunities by being empathetic before making a final decision. I made a final decision today to never visit this location ever. I have had at least 20+ hair cuts at this location and apart from 3 or 4 times when they were done I would expect there was always something or the other screw-up. But today all the limits were crossed. First off there is high turnover of hair dressers at this location. Either the franchise owner is not engaged enough and doesn't care and/or this is a transit camp (learn at min wage, screw-up and get better and move on) for all the new hair dressers. Also most hair dressers do not have fixed days and times which makes it harder for customer to go if one of them is doing a decent job. Secondly the hair dressers don't seem to understand the instructions. If you visit this location and provide exact details regarding how you want the hair cut to be done and you will experience that how same instructions give different results which are pathetic. Third, there is no courtesy towards customers and to retain them. This location absolutely doesn't care and it is not that they charge much less than any other decent place. A $15 for a hair cut with a tip of $2-4 to get a lousy haircut which keeps you pissed for weeks is like setting yourself for a miserable experience for good amount of time. This location will loose me and my family members as a customer starting today. I would strongly suggest to find an alternate location and it is OK to pay $5 or even $10 more to get a peace of mind. A couple of weeks of frustration is not worth saving (I don't think this is a cost effective place). I can't give "0" stars or even negative to help other customers like me. AVOID!!! AVOID!!! I had long hair which was about my waist height and I asked her to trim them and give me layers at the bottom. But that foolish women agreed and said that she will cut 3 inches from down. After 5 Min's she had reduced my hair which dint even reach my shoulders. I was totally disappointed. I recommend you all to never go to this place. I don't know about other great clips but with this one I had terrible experience. Now my hair might take a few years to reach the previous length. Additionally the hair cut what she has done was not even proper at the end. Few strands of hair were longer which i got them cut in another salon and made my hair done to even length. I went into this Great Clips today after a very bad experience at another location a while back. I explained what had happened and showed Rosa pictures of the results of the bad experience. My experience at another location resulted in an uneven cut and my bangs were cut extremely short and way to far over & back. They looked like someone put a bowl on my head and cut them. It was horrible but yes hair grows back overtime but you should not have to leave a salon this way! Rosa listened to me & took the time to ask about each area she cut to make sure I was comfortable with the amount she would cut. This is the worst haircut experience I have ever had. The lady who saw me (she did not give me her name, but the receipt says Rosa) - black hair, glasses, black pigments on her face, was very rude and unprofessional. Upon seating, she asked what I wanted. I gave her a general overview and she was not even paying attention to me. She kind of did her own thing. The entire haircut took less than 3 minutes. It was rushed even though no one was waiting. The final result was patchy. And when I calmly asked her to fix one thing (just go back with a 2 instead of a 3), she became extremely rude and upset. She started slamming her instruments and sighing very loudly as if I was bothering her. She turned my chair around so I do not see what she was doing in the mirror. She was also passive aggressive with the trimmer as she went back. I got nervous and I just let her finish the job, but she threw a cold comment "That is what you get." I hope the owner of this place pays closer attention to its staff and how to treat customers properly. I will never go back to this place. To the future customers please beware and avoid "Rosa" - glasses, black hair, and black marks on the face at all cost if you don't want to be treated like garbage and get a patchy job of a haircut. Instead the woman cut it so short and uneven, literally done in less than 5 minutes as if somebody was chasing her when there was just one other customer in the saloon already being helped. This is the best Great Clips branch in the area. The interior is new and clean, there's usually no wait and the stylists do a good job.

I always take my son here, they do a ok job depending on the person that works there. There is an lady above 50 with short hair who does the worst job. She does not smile or welcome anyone. She does not know hair cutting at all and she cuts hair too short like almost bald for son. Another day, I went for the hair cut and explained her to make it long below the shoulder and she has made till chin, I was telling her that she is making it very short, she was aruging that she knows and doing it correctly. Finally she messed up my hair. Worst place and will not recommend anyone going here. Learnt a lesson that take some time and go to better place. that lady needs to be fired. I am so upset with my hair style. We came to this Great Clips location expecting the great service we got at our old salon in PA. Instead no one greeted us or completed our online checkin; we also overheard a hairdresser complaining about a lack of small bills in the register. **Even worse**: we witnessed a hairdresser harassing a mother and her young son who'd returned to the salon for a correction on a recent haircut. We believe this behavior was discriminatory and wrong. We left without haircuts and will never return. We also contacted HQ to let them know how a franchise treats its customers. read more

I desperately wanted to share my experience today. I am not a person who go online and write review about my satisfaction. I went for my haircut and kid's together today. The stylist name Jessica who did my kid's haircut was very very rude and atrocious. I was not aware that she billed both of our bill together so I offered her tip for one .She asked me whether it was for her or both of them. It is so normal for us to be out of mind sometimes and I blamed myself and took extra money to hand it over to both of the stylist. She uttered something and called the other stylist to attend me. I gave the tip amount and left the place. I have not experienced in any of the great clips around my place. Plainsboro Great clips management has to teach their staff like Jessica to handle customers properly. That's why wait time for this place is always very less compared to other great clips around Princeton area. I will never go to this again. Deeply hurt by their behavior. read more
